Hey guys, I've been keeping an eye on this forum for a little while now and figured it's time for a proper introduction. My real name's Nick, so just feel free to use that, my username is a bit of a mouthful lol.

I'm rolling around in my proud 86 AE86 coupe, I've had the car for 2 years now, it was the first car I bought and it's been nothing but good to me. Okay, that's lie. But it's a lot of fun and I love every second of driving it though smile.gif I also have and use an MR2 Spyder (or MR-S) as my daily driver.

Rocking.

EDIT: Forgot to add a pic of the MR2, so here ya go:

Good evening and welcome to the forums! It's always a pleasure to see another AE86 around these parts. cool.gif How's the 4A-C?

I'm impressed, you figured it out by my rims! Nice tongue.gif Say what you will, but I like the 4-AC engine. Sure it's got no power and it only goes up to 4k rpm before the engine is about to blow, but it can take a beating. My motor's running over 400k miles and all I've done was clean the head and regularly change oil.

It'll have to do until I can find a decent bluetop 16v lying around smile.gif

Interesting. Lots of people want me to add ITB's and all that jazz to the 4AC lol. I feel like if I did anything to the 4-AC, it'd just be a 32/36 Weber carburetor. And even then I'd do it just to get rid of that ENORMOUS air cleaner assembly lol.

It's not a 4AC smile.gif

It's the 3T-C from a TE71. I've ridden in an SR5 with a 3T-C swap and I honestly have to say it's the best upgrade option, especially on a budget. It doesn't require a computer and has the same awesome linear power band as the 4A-C, except... it actually has balls. biggrin.gif

I figured that much out since the exhaust manifold was on the wrong side lol. It seems cool though, I'll throw that idea to some other dudes I know with SR5's tongue.gif

Do you have Historic plates on your car yet? It'll be way easier to skirt emissions that way.

If you don't, don't tell anyone about the engine swap since the engine's older than the car is.

Other than that, the 3T-C is solid gold. And cheap! And a hell of a lot less of a pain than the 4A-GE since it's carbed. And yeah - one of the 4A-C's many crutches is it being a side-flow engine. Cross-flow is so much more efficient. smile.gif

Either way, it's so nice to see an AE86 that isn't rusting itself apart. ^^
