Can't say I'm excited for this one. I don't have a Vita yet, and I can't justify buying one for one game. Even if it is a Gundam VS game. The lack of online and watered down movesets on some mobile suits doesn't help peak my interest either. The only plus I can possibly think of is the fact the Asian version will be in English. Source confirming that. There is some good news though. Bamco has confirmed that they're working on a new console EXVS game(Most likely Maxi Boost.) Not much information on that, but hey, a confirmation is good enough for me.

They're calling it that and forcing it into the franchise under that title, but it plays (and looks) like a spiritual successor to the Gundam Battle Universe series from the PSP days. If you're into that then that's cool and all, I'm sure you'll love it. But if you just came from Full Boost on the PS3 you're gonna be super disappointed. Don't own a Vita personally, and I've no interest in another GBU. EDIT: It does retain some things from EXVS. Some of the melee combos look right, but they mention using a particular button to do them which makes me think they've dumbed down the input system significantly. On top of that, many suits appear to be missing ammo gauges for weapons they have in previous games (such as Turn A's missile launchers, which were added in Maxi Boost) which again supports the 'simplified' control scheme theory. Here's the full 6-minute PV:

OOO It's a battle universe title? That actually makes me more interested then actually. I could go for another GBU game. I just hope it works on the vita tv.

It retains a lot of "There's a mode that has famous battles happen" and "create your own team" thing and most of the joy is largely going to be adhoc. |

Does Bandai know how bad the Vita is doing in North America? Here's to hoping the awful sale numbers won't effect them localizing more Gundam games in the future. Also, I can see them adding generic BGM music. This post has been edited by Phantom_R32 on Dec 21 2015, 10:31 AM |

I'm also hearing that this game lacks a free mode, which is a huge mistake if they want past EXVS fans to buy this. |

Anyone who could watch the original trailer and not see it for what it was--a successor to Gundam Battle Universe--was letting hype blind them to the truth. The end. Get rekd. |
