Quirks and Features of IDW Group: FORUM MODERATOR Posts: 1,891 Member No.: 40,610 Joined: Feb 21st 2013 Location: Showroom | So I have been thoroughly enjoying Persona 4 Ultimax and Dead or Alive 5LR, and I have decided to start looking at fight sticks. Anyone have any they like? |

(case is best / parts suck) Also, I don't like silent parts. I think a switch on a lever & button should be clicky (like a Cherry MX Blue keyboard) providing high auditory/tactile feedback. That being said, this is what I would do:
tl;dr - Buy a Hori and get Sanwa parts. Voila~ PPS: If you're feeling lazy and don't really care, just buy a Madcatz or a Hori for approx. 200 USD.

Good write up Xiao! Unless one would for some reason ( maybe nostalgia? ) prefer US style components in which case the go to would be a self built box, Happ Comps for sticks ( or P360's if you prefer silent sticks ), and Happ concave buttons, but I do digress... Thnx AC! I've heard a lot of people here in the US like Suzo/Happ's for Cave shooters; but I grew up playing my shmups on nice clicky Seimitsu's, especially the levers. Nothing feels better than the quick & solid short-throw Seimitsu sticks give me. I heard that the optical/silent Suzo/Happ sticks are real smooth for shooters, but I can't play on anything that doesn't sound like a Cherry Blue. On one of Radiant Silvergun's legendary DVD's taken at Hirose 2nd Floor, they asked one of the shmup'ers why he likes Seimitsu and not the American companies. And he said something along the lines of, 'Would you let an architect design a house without a ruler?' There are ways of interchanging the spring and other diminutive parts, as Moby's probably familiar with... but why mess with the perfection that's Sanwa; I'd feel naked playing Noel on anything that's not Sanwa.
