i wondered by saying that u all push ur cp2 or cp3 or wadever, does it means that u all take ur corners at a much higher spd than usual? laugh.gif

Actually its not entirely accurate....suffice to say, the only CP we really 'push' is always CP4 , meaning we stop intentionally slowing down the car by simply releasing gas on corners which can be taken full throttle and taking turns at lower speeds than needed.

Its just that CP2 and 3 tends to be fast because of the boost which carries over from each previous CP (unless you 'pushed' cp1).

Shini would know , why not just ask him o_O?

Rei.G --> What are you doing differently now? Are you still doing that 1/6 throttle thingy? =3

i use super ultra late braking, and force your way around the corner.
i've seen people using early braking and achieve the same timing as i have, just my new playing style. need better handwork though.

Ah ic ic...cypher does that a lot, I've tried it out before but discarded it because it tends to take too long for the car to 'stabilise' exiting corners in happo and it didn't seem to work at all in iro since I'd miss the apex entirely due to 'inertia?'....though it does work for me in Akina.

Probably I'm not used to it, but I prefer to brake early =(

i actually do that in my head happy.gif .

@jhun: there's a guy whose happo inbound is only +0.0xx from my timing, and his way of running is very different from me.(using early braking and precise wheel turning). individual preference.

I guess it is how much force you apply to the brakes...

For me I am a bit of a late braker but somehow I think early braking improves my timing...urgh...

Must...get...faster...

I think Im FINALLY feeling the game now, third day I've played. I left my card at home, so I took a stock out for a spin.
It just dawned on me in Nagao, speed loss from cornering those roller coasters on the DH is absolutley minimal in a six gear. As long as I keep the car in tolerances and drift into a more or less proper line, I lose next to nothing.

The TRICK is to control the urge to stomp on the accelerator. I've tried feathering it, and it does seem to help somewhat, especially on longer turns that arent as sharp. That, and knowing whether to use Gear 2 or 3.

My braking is still crap, but at least I can anticipate some kind of point unlike my first tries where I just slammed it on right before entering the corner.

OMG WHERE ARE ALL THE SYDNEY PLAYERS REPRESENT PLZ. Will be at George street arcades for sunday so holla and most importantly, leave accept challenge on!

Lol, I'm usually in MC on sat arvos.. no point me going to city on a sunday yet

Anyway, managed to break into '21 territory on akina and 28 territory on nagao dh. all in a 5-0-0-4-1 MR2 so far. I got my 6th engine step, and the acceleration feels so much different, though i think i'll start have to compensate more for the speed.....

LOL. I got my 3'10 in iro DH by that...

Did some runs in my semi-comatose state...

FD3S6 7-5-4-4-7 Iro Rev - 3'13'x
86 Levin Akagi DH - 2'49'5 (messed it up slightly so can be 2'48 by my modest estimates)
86 Levin Tsukuba OB - 3'07'407

I have to say, I finally know what boost is. Or rather I understand it better. My Tsukuba OB run had a relatively slower CP1 and a VERY slow CP2. But my CP3 and CP4 were a lot faster. And I managed to screw up a little here and there. So 3'06'x isn't out of the question. Thing is I have no idea whether I can go faster.

Alright, Akina DH is now at 3'12"045. Very easily a 3'11 if I did not bang the wall at the end. Im already 3 seconds from current Jap MR holder, I dont know if there's a faster S2K in Akina for the EXP version so I dont really have a target.

I can now clearly see the disadvantages of this car. After using an FT Supra, I can beat my 1st cp with ease. The most disgusting is using my half tuned Trueno and still managing to beat my 1st and 2nd cp by half a second. dry.gif Sega what did you do to the S2000. *sigh*

It was the same with Myogi. There were sweeping curves that the Trueno can take with ease while the S2K loses grip and slides towards the outside AND lose speed.

Well, at least I know its ok in Tsukuba. Ive only done two runs and so far I have a 2'57 (I think). Myogi has now been pushed to 2'52 high. Naga.o DH is 2'23

I cant wait till the Trueno is FT so I can start with the FC. Did also two battles, noticed that it was now like battle gear, the car behind can actually bump the car in front and bring him out of his line. Kinda sucks. But I did notice that my friend (who's only a second slower than me in Akina) slows down heaps on the exit of the turn on which he bumps me. Speed penalty?

Trueno is gay. But gay in a fun way. laugh.gif

I think you meant Nagao DH 3'23. LOL. And Tsukuba OB timing shouldn't be 2'57?

Supra's weaker on Akina DH compared to the S2K though. Slightly.

Hopefully you can hit 3'08 soon.

i stopped at 11.6 for the ap1 3 weeks ago and went to tune a trueno. regretted bcos i stopped running my ap1 in akina dh now ><.

the machine will not record the model record of your ap1 if your personal time recorded by another car is faster.

Same as version 4 then.

Ok I have a few more plays before the Trueno gets FT'd. New target time! laugh.gif

Supra is weaker? I can easily beat my S2K time with it. Dont know how it can be weaker there. Anyway, there's still a lot more learning to be done.

Yeah Nagao is 3'23 lol, mixed it up with Tsukuba. I could have sworn its 2'57, I'll take a look again. Or better yet I'll play it again.

Funny, Ive played the S2K more in all other maps except its home course.

It's the bad thing about the system and one that carried over from ID4.

Maybe it is time to go back to Akina DH and see if I can use the things I learnt in Tsukuba OB.

EDIT: Tsukuba OB 2'57 is 3 seconds faster than the Jap record. But there's always the chance of you getting it.

Looking at the IR one would assume Supra is weaker. But perhaps not by a lot.

Broke my Nagao DHD with my FD RS again..3'17"9 to 3'16"8. Then later I finally managed to improve my Akina DHD with the FD from 3'09"9 to 3'09"7, and my Akina DHW from 3'18"9 to 3'18"8.

Tuned the RX-8 to 7-7-7-5-0 now...ran something like a 3'12"1 Akina DHD with it.

Don't floor the accelerator until you cleared the corner.

FD3S6 Iro Rev - 3'12'x

Using the FD for Iro Rev from now on. Easier to use.

Tested a lot of theories, braking points and stuff, so the 86 Levin has no records broken. But one thing for sure...I know boost for what it is now.
