since theres been a few cell shading threads figure id make my own. for those of you who use the tutorial i made, ill be making a much improved version of it when i have time.

heres what i got so far, pretty sure u know what car it is. ill be updating this so you guys see the process and have an idea of how the tutorial would look. so far this pic has about 40 different path layers and i used the brush to fill in the obvious parts.

hw do u get the circles?do u use the marqee tool? (think thats how u spell it biggrin.gif)

no its all pent tool.


finished outline, windows, shadow underneath. the rest of the body details will be brought out with shadows/highlights instead of lines from here.

man that looks too hard, do u actually draw all those lines?or do u just use the polylasso?

The point of cellshading is to use the pen tool...I think. It's FRIGGIN hard.

i do large amounts at once actually. well it depends what part of the car. added some color and a few highlights. not very happy with the headlights and overall color but this is sorta just a "practice run"

edit: i realized i have 130 path layers now, lol

Yes you can do that only on a 45 degree angle though.

I think for cell shading you should zoom in 1600% to outline

yes. i got lazy and just copied the front wheel and moved it around to fit. at most i personally would only need 300% zoom. 1600 and good luck with getting progress

Actually I was thinking of something else. I remember readting this tut. It was also talking about outlining a picutre and got the 2 mixed up
