I've set to start production at the start of November for my graduation film and I was hoping people of IDWorld would give me a huge hand in making this film. The film's called Cutting the Apex - made a short trailer for you guys to see here. It's about a racer named Caleb who cannot allow his girlfriend to become better than him and what he does for a living. His up and coming girlfriend, Madison, has the flare, skill and personality to wipe Caleb off the racing circuit. The film is a satire on the sporting world, and that although there are good sportsmen the majority of people are in it to win it, and will often go to extremes to do so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLQnmgl8aVk Although not directly related to Initial D, Cutting the Apex is a stepping stone for sponsorship, funding bodies and car clubs to donate and fund future films. Many people might remember this film, Kiran Kullar made a UK based tribute to the series and I wanted to contribute to the community/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69XQfJfRjBc I want to make a tribute to Initial D because it was the Tv show I grew up with, however I haven't the connections nor the cars to make it. I've got a full crew, cameras, lights, microphones, locations and a car lined up for the making of Cutting The Apex. And through the making of this film, I want to use it as a resume if you like, to make more films related to cars and the relationships that emerge from them - because it's such a strong, basic thing that I think brings people together. This is getting long, so I'll try to wrap it up here. Basically, I can make this film, but if I want to make a really good film that will enable me to produce more films, even one day, making an unofficial Initial D short feature. I need money. I've made a Indiegogo campaign, and all donations go towards the film - cars, catering, petrol costs and music copyrights. I've also set up a Cutting The Apex - Facebook where people can follow the making of the film, and any additional films I make. I sound cheesy asking, but even if you cannot donate to the film, please like, comment on and share the facebook and Indiegogo page so that others who are interested can donate something. If you know any car clubs, owners of JDM cars or have one yourself that you're willing to have on a movie set, please contact me as this will be a huge burden off my shoulders for managing the budget. Thanks, Nicholas. |
