Seeing as it's a new version, how 'bout a new *Post your Day* thread? Try to make you posts a little meaningful eg:

I did X'XX on tsukuba OB etc. and a description of what went wrong or right

So me first

Today I got my very first battle, and OMFG Boost is too overpowered!

MR2 vs FD3S iro dhd win BOOST

MR2 vs FD3S tsukuba OBD win BOOST

MR2 vs FD3S lake akina CWD lose BOOST

both times I wanted boost off, but we ended up playing with it. pretty much was trailing the whole time, then on the last 2 turns I snuck in. then the same happened to me the last time around >.>

Then played a bit of LoTS, beat nakazato first go, was wondering how someone could lose 5 times on a row to him. Then pulled a 3'04 on Iroha. Long way to go but its early days

I saw some crappy times in my local arcades and wiped it off #1 on Tsukuba.
Crashed a bit and did 2'52" on both directions. I guess that PWNED the silly GC8V.

Also something to comment on.... we decided to call that stupid triple turn the "Crop Circle" turn (CP3 Tsukuba OB with the left, right and left turn).

We're trying to beat the aliens XD

aw you coulda called it somethin better than that like the fanny turn (cause it looks like an ass)... ok nevermind that sounds kinda gay. stick with crop circle though dunno why other than the grassy shortcuts

anyway my day was just 2 races waiting for my friend to arrive to go eat. hopped on and lost 2 races with NO BOOST on akina dh-_-. both i was using a new GDBF with only 4 suspension mods and 2 chassis. the 1st one i was grumpy cause it was BS. understeered at a corner my other cars dont understeer at. lost a LOT of ground but still made it up and scraped his bumper as we crossed the finish at a sad 3'16".

the second race was the 1st good battle i've had in a long time. i had the lead but got nudged into a wall in the S turns and got passed. but the decrease in speed allowed me to make my best turn ever at RHOD (of course i failed to check the entry speed for reference-_-) and hit 173 kph by the end of the stretch (note i was not using boost). he blocked me though till the consecs where i finally passed. but then at the fireworks hairpin he scraped my bumper and hit a wall. i thought that was the end as i saw him fade in my mirror but as i was halfway through the straight i was realizing his nudge screwed my exit speed, killing my acceleration and i wasnt gonna his my usual 160's for the turns. the fact that he hit the wall allowed him to accelerate from a lower gear which led to faster accel. so by the turns he was doin at least 155 and i was scraping 145 barely-_-. i fought him best i could but the SOB passed me and barely beat me at about 3'12"

whew omg sorry wrote a crapload for 2 measly races XD!

I think the trueno is a little bit overpowered.. did a '57"2 with a stock trueno on iro when i couldn't even hit that time with my mr2. =/

And I don't know why( applies to mr2 drivers only), is anyone experiencing acceleration problems in tsukuba? that car seems to be not accelerating that well compared to the evos and skylines and even the 85. =/

And yes i've tried the penalty cancel and etc.. it's tuned to 4-0-0-0-4, yet a stock fc still beats it's acceleration..

but the cornering of the mr2 is godly..

Tried so many maps today with te mr2.. Got fished by so many people. Yet still won them.. except some stupid evo on tsukuba, where I realised the mr2's shitty acceleration but godly cornering abilities there

ahhhh 3 battles, 2 of which are really really peeved about

MR2 vs evo IX iro dhd win

well it was tempting, had him taken on first jump and left him there.

MR2 vs iro IX dhd lose, MR2 vs evo IX akina dhd lose

the above two were different from the first, and OMFG I hate the bugger! wall rammed me all over the shop he did, and you cannot pass even when trailing >1m cause he wall rammed me!! really pissed me off it did :rant: its even worse than v3 cause it kills a hell more speed wall ramming this time around

They made passing in this REALLLLLY hard!!!

And wall ramming pisses me off when ur JUST about to pass because u had a buttload of speed and they're just sloooowwww but then they intentionally turn to block u into a wall!

I just let people pass me when i know im beat, theres no point to it, a wins a win, but when its a dirty win its just not worth it...

best battle ive ever had in any initial D version

RETSU vs NGTR!
ae86 vs R32 (both cars only had 3 steps of tuning)
irohazaka downhill dry night.

now this guy is the best skyline driver in new zealand, we go way back till ver2 so it was nice racing him again, race went like so.

we start off and he gets head start, i trail him bumping him on the ass for about 4 turns before he manages to pull a 40m lead then 50m then 60m at the worst part... i was taking turns faster than him but you know how it works on iro, first car that goes on straight still gains advantage, anyway i trail him and start catching up until about 47m and when we arrive at the jumps he slides outward and misses the first jump while i hit it spot on and over take him, we contined and he took the 2nd but slid outward for the 3rd which stuffed up his 4th one too... when once in the race i thought it was lost i ended up beating him by 80m with a time of 2'54.

another close race was on tsukuba agaisnt CHAOS

RETSU vs CHAOS
ae86 vs fd3s (his car had about 8 more tuning steps than mine)
tsukuba outbound dry.

start off with him getting head start and me trailing him for most of the map keeping between 10-14m of him at all times... worst part of the race was me 30m behind him, anyways i was bumping on his ass quite often but you cant pass cars so easily so blocking was simple for him, we arrived at the LRL of tsukuba and i managed to cleanly pass him by taking the grassy shortcut, the race continued on closly for about 30 more seconds before i pulled away and beat him by 50m, finishing time was 2'57

trueno may be the TA god... but its far from being the battle god. FD has that position.

Anyways I had my first proper ID4 session today. Second time playing this game and still trying to get use to the new physics. Had quite a big problem with Keisuke on Akagi, took me about 4 tries to beat him. But ran out of money after attempting Ryosuke 4 times. I always overtake him in section 2 with the tightening series of S turns to the very sharp hairpin. I can keep the lead until the final 4 consecs then he catches up to me and passes me at the final right sweeper.

It seems like in this version the opponents are very predictable like before. They are fast at exactly the same sections. So if you can pull a good lead and hold them off then you are guaranteed to win.

ARGH going backwards today!! ran a 3'10 on iro dh! first I've done in a longg time >.< I think stock spoiler suits me better cause C-One seems to make me go slower. oh and I reversed myself TWICE....... once on first jump and once during jumps

only 1 person is in my way before i complete LOTS...Tak (Takumi) on tsukuba....lost to him twice...surprise me when i beat KT in 1 go...in tsukuba...lol
hope i can finish it without spend too much money...

Added an 86 into my garage. Went for a TA spin, and it sunk my Iro DDH FD time just like that

56"1. Tried the FD later and got 54"9, but not without several tries. X_X

Now, all the exterior upgrades go to the 86 since I'm done with the FD's (bar the expensive bodykit). The performance ones still go to the FD since it's not FT'd yet.

Finished LotS for a second time as well. Also changed the shirt of my character. The outcome is shown over at my avatar.

Also did 3'10"7 Akina Downhill Dry with the FD. Getting the hang of penalty cancelling now.

Had 3 games with SAVIS today.

1. AE86 vs RX8 Irohazaka dh dry - Was still getting used to being able to floor it through Iro and using penalty cancel - lost

2. AE86 vs RX8 Akagi dh dry - Lost as well...

3. AE86 vs RX8 Akina dh dry - He had to go so he asked me to fish him, accidently left boost on so was quite a fun match. - won.

Then I finally beat Ryosuke at Akagi (1st try of the day). Breezed through Akina with no problems until I hit Takumi. Tried 5 times and couldn't beat him. Need to get used to turning in early and using penalty cancel.

EDIT: Popped in after uni and had another few goes, finally bet Takumi by overtaking him at the RHOD then trying to block him throught the consecs. He overtook me at the 2nd consec but managed to stay close and pass him in the final section. Then had a game against Seiji on Irohazaka and have to say he was piss easy. I'm getting used to the whole brake penalty cancel thing too

woot played a bit of LotS. vsed ryosuke on aagi straight off the bat, managed to win first go with a good 70+m. I really can't grasp how people keep losing to him! Then ran a 3'01 on iro.... 1 tuning step makes 9 secs of difference >.>

and finally beat Kai outright

I find to beat Kai, you need to keep him from passing before the first jump, and clear it without him passing. from there its a cakewalk as the danger point is the first jump. I can clear it about 90 now so I pipped him from passing there

got 2'58'1 iro dh and 3'04'4 on reverse
i still do not understand akagi dh and akina dh, uh is allright atm
i guess ill find out as i play more

it is stock, only appereance upgrade on it which was a new muffler
first go on dh was 59'1 ... pretty easy with wall tech

I entered the arcade, debating in my mind on wanting to get either the S2000 or the RX-8.

When it was time to buy the car to add to the FD and 86, the coin slot jammed on me.

And when I did get the second token in, time ran out =_=

So in the end, the debate on my mind was never resolved =.=

And since the only reason I went was to add the car into the garage I had no extra tokens.

Did LoTS , beating Keisuke and Takumi on Tsukuba.

finally found asakurayume today! well he's got like 10 cards with diff names but finally found him. he was the 1st to hit 2'57" on akina dh. i played with him everyday in beta testing but havent seen him till today. man he gets crazy speeds. today he was using an FD3S. watched him and later he coached me a bit. got new ways to take the corners. didnt have time or money to perfect it but i'll try again later this week. i was able to take 3 turns like 10kph faster than usual. hopefully can hit the 3'00" mark soon, considering i did a 3'04" with my old techniques. fingers crossed...

also won 3 in a row and got my new GDBF to B1 rank. no biggie but nice for one day. moving along well

5 games in a row (4 LotS and 1 TA on Akina Lake), basically got performance mods to 1-1-0-1-1, changed the wheels to a set of nice gold Advan RCIIs, since my aim is to recreate C-West's Evo IX, as seen on their site.

Messed up in Iro though.

Meet up with Retsuka today and he showed me a few tips about Irohazaka and Tsukuba. I then proceeded to beat Kyouichi and Kai on Iro with no problems at all. With Kai I managed to block him up to the jumps and I blocked him through the first jump too. He then overtook me on the 3rd jump but I took him back just before the final set of consec hairpins. I flew through Tsukuba with no problems either only had to try again for God Hand. Then I defeated Takumi and Keisuke but lost to Bunta on Akina.

finally got my card. i beat akina lake, i beat the first 3 races on myogi, first race on iro, first 2 races on akina, and lost twice to Mr. Civic Type R

Had this happened to me yesterday. Posted it in one of the other threads too.. =P

There's this almost ft evo9 noob that challenged me and my mr2. Thought i was gonna get smoked when i saw the tuning on his car.. he brought me to iro dh dry for the first 4 challenges. Yea, I won all 4.. by about 30-50m for all.

And then he looks at me and calls me a fisher.

I was like.. Omg, this scene feels so damn familiar when I played IDASV3. Wtf, no one asked you to bring the top car on iro to its home course. And not to mention his car is like about 5-7-3-3-7(or something like that. I only clearly noticed the 2 ft parts and the engine).

And he calls me a fisher.

"

Then he brings me to tsukuba for our 5th match. I got smoked by 200m.

I was like, "ok if that's how you wanna play it.." I continued my game, not realising that if he had challenged me and if i continued the game, he still has the advantage of choosing the course. Me and my smart ass and impatience of waiting for the card to eject etc... =/

He brings me to tsukuba outbound dry again. This time, in a desperate attempt, I rammed him at startup and got the lead. Blocked him all the way until he overtook me at the last hairpin before the finish line. It felt like I was playing LoTS vsing Keisuke on level 3 or something.. =/

After that, took him to iro dh dry(finally found the sense to eject the card, though he was rushing to force quit his game so that i won't challenge him back). He rammed me on startup and i was like 80m behind him by the time i reached the first hairpin. =/

I still won him by 30m in the end. XD

Then he continued and did the same mistake that I did, so I get to choose the course again, this time taking him to akina dh dry. Bad move though, although I won, I had to block him all the way. MASSIVE acceleration advantage. Only managed to gain leads on the corners.

After that battle, he stands up and shouts, "WILL YOU STOP F*CKING FISHING ME? YOU KNOW HOW PRECIOUS MY CAR IS?!"

I was like.. uh.. wtf...?? Being faced so much with this type of people (and gotten used to it), I just brushed it aside, and said to him "Dude, this is just a game. Chill man.. If it helps, I'll buy you a drink after I'm done here."

He stares at me, runs to the counter to top up his swipe card, ejects his card and rechallenges me to akina lake.

Rammed him at startup again though he managed to lead, but only for a few moments. XD

Obviously he doesn't know what Penalty Cancel is. Blocked him all the way till the finish line. XD

He now heads to top his card up again, but with the long queue at the counter, I managed to force quit my way out of my game before he heads back and terrorises me again. X(

Note: All races were boost off, thanks to the stupid dignity thing in Singapore.

And after I ejected my card, I still offered him, "You still need your chilling drink?" He just ignores me and continues with his own game, switching on his In-Store battle option thinking that I might rechallenge him again. And soon, I finally found out, he hasn't even finished his first cycle on LoTS. =/

I think he's Malaysian for some reason. Because I'm one too and I know how sore losers from there act like. XD

finished lots with my new FD... and went with balanced tuning this time round so currently have all mods at lvl1.

UPDATE: Just got back from the arcade after meeting up with the YG Revilution boys. They were all too busy crowding around the maximum tune 3 machine so I had a few games of ID3 by myself. Tried out the wall raping tech on Irohazaka and got around 2'59"6xx. This is on a stock Trueno with step 1 engine upgrade only. Still have to work on it though definitely more improvements to come. Other than that I got step 2 engine tune + carbon bonnet today.

I just did a 54 in iro with a stock capp today. O_o

don't ask me how.. i can't do it again for nuts.. the best part about it is that i wasn't even doing a TA. It was just against Kyoichi on iro dry.. =/

The acceleration for the capp is way way higher than my mr2.. why is the mr2 still tops for iro? that still puzzles me.. does a ft mr2 run faster than a ft capp?

Finished LotS for the third time today. So far most opponents havent given me trouble. (Takumi and Bunta on Akina are the exceptions....).

Also did Tsukuba OB 2'53"8 with the FD. My CP4 killed off what could have been a lower 53

made myself an black FD.....should have chose white......anyway managed to finish akina lake and myogi, got myself a RE amy....(forgot the name) spoiler and muffler, planning to get all of parts that the FD had from 4th stage, after KT crashed......

tried to play the game for the first time here in the philippines.. actually i don't know anything about that penalty thingy that you guys do but i'm going to try it.. pretty hard to use.. but i'ts my first time.. I got smoked by my friend with his trueno HAHA!! but overall it was great fun.. it's just that i have a job so i went home early.. i just cleared lake akina and myogi.. still thinking of what parts i'm going to upgrade.. engine parts hopefully..

when i was picking parts for my FD, half the time i didnt know what i was picking coz the timer was sooooooo short!! >.<" they should make it longer....coz u just dont have time to look through everything unless ur only looking at one section but then u can prob only go through half of the list.....

hehx... played against a guy today... challenged him to a duel... won him in the end... then one guy came with a subaru... full of mods... but skill was that of a one year old... sad.... if he had trained his drift techniques, might have defeated me flat... but even with my lowly mods i could stick to him.... but then i screwed myelf in a corner and his big-assed engine jus pulled away from me.... damn wish i had concentrated more...

haha full tune doesn't necessarily means victory... if i had concentrated(which i had regretted not doing so), tt subaru guy would nvr have won, even with his full tune car... think he's some big shot... haha (vents anger)

I played the game earlier, made my card, made 3 cars and beat lots until Akina until I ran out of cash. I'm really not liking the physics. Not because its different (heck, I play a lot of racing games with different physics: BG3, BG4, GT4, Kaido Battle 3, and IDver3) but because of a lot of stuff I find annoying.

There's the random understeer I keep experiencing especially on Myogi. Where you do your turn all the way then suddenly the car stops turning like you hit an invisible wall.

Oh I like the frills, the gimmicks and all but playing the game itself its... I dont know...

Anyway, I still have my missions for Ver3, will keep doing like 3 or 4 runs a week in Ver4 just to keep a feel for the game and get the times. It also seems like no matter what car I'm using ( I made a trueno, FC and S2k) it all just drives the same. I do a combination of old school driving like in Ver3 with a lot more attention to my speeds and the map.

Maybe I will play the game more when the prices go down.

Played today and beat a couple more LoTS opponents 2nd time round. Then had 2 battles:

MAFD (AE86T) vs BAKA (AE86T) - Akagi downhill dry - won

MAFD (AE86T) vs BAKA (AE86T) - Irohazaka downhill dry - loss

Then I started TAing Akagi downhill dry and ended up getting 2'46'5xx, about 0.1s slower than Retsuka's record.

rofl i could pretty much sit there for the whole day and play non stop... a phew races dont bother me too much... + the difference between FT and non FT is big so depending on what you learn there wont be a huge difference.

well i played today and got myself a R34 to add to my garage.. still having a hard time beating opponents in tsukuba but managed to finish myogi, so now 3 total finished courses which are lake akina, myogi and akagi..

Tuned my FD to 7-5-5-6-5. Full tune is near. I can so feel it

I also picked up an RX-8, scrapped the 86 in the process. I wanna see how this baby works at full tune

Also played some TA:

3'08"8 Akina Downhill Dry FD (Was +0'6xx going into CP3, my CP3 was about a second faster so I managed to scrape out a new record)

2'57"9 Iro Downhill Wet RX-8. (For fun, nothing else really)

On top of that I cleared LotS for the fourth time now

Already into the fifth one, cleared Akagi and Iro opponents.

Just had a battle session with SAVIS and this guy using a MR2. Racked up 12 straight wins. Turns out that our machine gives you a bonus of 10000 points after 5 straight wins then kicks you off. Raced the MR2 guy about 10 times and he obviously didn't know about penalty cancel. He was saying how he was faster last week and it must be a bug that he's losing to me by 250m+ every race. He then asked if we can swap machines which I obliged. But the results were the same. Got a couple more tuning parts so now I'm at Stage 2 engine, Stage 1 suspension and Stage 1 body reinforcement. Good day I would say.

haha its ok i know i'm just teasin'. if you screw up just one corner it could be the end of you. i still sometimes get passed at the consecs when i'm playing stupid. but they suck in CP4 thankfully so havent lost to them in long time, esp takumi. also depends the comp difficulty level.

what a day xD!! (or 5 hours oO!!)

well went to check in how things were... ID4 and MT3 are next to each other so i found somewhat 15 people around the machines battling here and there and ghosting on MT3.

the dude baka was beating sum nub then got owned by (>_<)! i didnt take my platinum card or anything to the arcade so had to start a new plastic... lmao got it to gold with first top up ><, gotta register for it to be sent though =.=".

didnt challenge (>_<)! but started a new s2000 (3rd one lol.. i love the colors) and will stick with this car for ever now.

beat LOTS in 1 sitting... faced bunta and lost? not once but x2... i got pissed off and started driving kamekazi style and beat him on the 3rd go... got like 3'16 or something which was a disapointment.

as stated before i TA'd akagi just to get some distance between the no1 and no2 spots and got like 2'44'xxx with stock s2000.

started TAing akina after that and kept on improving, within 2 games i got my time from 3'16 to 3'12'3 (machine highest at this time was 3'11'735 i think) i thought why not so played one more time and i kinda thought i could not beat the no1 time so easily but got 3'11'4xx. knowing me i wasnt satisfied with that so tried a couple more games... i think i force quited one or two games before running a 3'10'3xx... breaking the old record by about 1.6 seconds (not my old record (>_<)!'s one).
3'10'3xx was done with 1/5 tuned s2000. i can run constant 3'10-3'11's now so i doubt bunta will be any trouble for at least 5 more completions.

done some more TA's on random maps and got pretty much all no1 places on the machine expect myogi and lake akina (cbf with those tracks)

the s2000 is looking pretty sexy atm.

I've just reached complete Step 4 for my trueno. I notice my TA timings are all stagnant with little to no improvement.

It has been like this and today just confirms it, it's real demoralising!

I'm also thinking of starting a S2K just for modding fun(make into amuse tune look-a-like).... will take pictures when I'm done and post in the Honda Thread. I've plans to just concentrate on modding cars and taking pictures

I run horrid timings and full tuning will just make me look bad... hahaa.

OMFG!!! worst day ever!! someone please kill me-_-. havent played in over a week. found a spare hour waiting for a friend. she called me JUST as i finished a 3-win battle round. but couldnt hear the b*tch so i went outside. she was b*tching she had to go home soon so i hurried 4 stations on the train to meet her. upon my arrival i realized the sudden phone distraction had caused me to leave my wallet in the arcade! with all my initial d cards!!! i went back but of course by that time it was gone-_-. i wanna die. quick.

2 SS ranked cards, 2 B1 with above 80% win percentage, an A3 with 62% and 3 FT cars all f**king gone forever. i dont even wanna know how much money and time i spent on those.

i'm officially done with this game in japan-_-. do NOT have the time and money to start from scratch. maybe when i get back to the states, if the emotional scars have healed. heh

only good news is i had got a 2'49" on IRO in one of my almost FT EVO IX's. woopty doo. whoever stole the cards should be pleased-_-

yeah of course. i told them and i went to the nearest police box (yes theyre boxes in japan) and filled out a report. retraced all my steps and scoured the arcade. but to no avail-_-. thankfully i didnt have my personal info like ID cards or credit cards in it at the time BUT i didn have cash and the bad part of having no ID is that nobody would know the owner, nor feel compelled to return it

And yes I'm a lonely ID player in New Zealand( no one in my arcade plays this

I'm guessing because Evo IX is course king of Lake Akina (CCW). And if the Evo IX outstarts the opponent (probably the fastest of all the starts in that course due to home course boost?), the game's over unless the IX driver screws up BAD.

Boost ain't helping you in the English version when all it does is remove the wall penalty.

Possibly the same goes for the GDBF and Lake Akina CW.

(Actually come to think of it, in this course, any car that outstarts the other wins

)

A friend of mine made GDBF and after trying it i agree....bad mid gear accel kills it, especially since 90% of the corners in the game require you to PC around the 4th-5th gears. Understeer doesn't help it on iro either

Other maps the understeer doesn't matter much but on iro its going to be quite a big liability in battles.

GREAT car. Will have one after i've FT'd my sils and the GDB/AE86T... lol.. So not for a while.

The GDB being so bad makes me wanna eliminate all bad thoughts about it. I drove it very well in Version 3, 4mil points etc. and wanna continue using it.

Had a half decent day today... Only played about 20 games, 5 of them on Takumi.. I'm so bad at Akina under pressure.. Finally smashed him by like 100 metres.. Just doesn't make sense.. Such a bad run too!

I've finally decided I'm going to play the game. Anyway, I took the records at SM Megamall for Akina dh, Akina uh, Akagi dh, and Akagi UH all with my S2K. I actually also took Tsukuba both directions but since it was my first run in these maps it was broken by my friends whose team is now making a comeback.

All my records (that I remember at least) are 3-4 seconds slower than Retsuka's. (Akina DH: 3'18"xxx, Akagi DH 3'48"xxx) with my 2-0-0-0-0 S2000.

Just wanted to ask Retsuka, Benji or the other people about my times on the current tuning of my car. I can still push the times. I just dont know what I'm pushing towards. In Ver3 I had the advantage of knowing whats fast or not depending on the current tuning status of the car. Anybody?

honestly i had 2 games on version 3, ran like 2'47 on happo then dropped it to 2'40... (stock R32) WTF!!? what happened to my 2'24 lol???

I finally beaten Kai and the R34 thanks to U2-

On my 1st try, Kai and R34 were just pulling away, but after some chatting session with U2-, i won them effortlessly.. haha

My Akagi DHD timing is 2'49"534, trying to improve now. It would be great if i can hit 45.

and finally, got my C-West GT wing.. My whole Evo IX will be equipped with C-West body kits.. =)

I got paid to finish Tsukuba and Takumi on Akina today for a guy with a black Evo 4. Handles really sweet on Tsukuba Outbound, and it only has step 1 tunes in suspension and intake; hits 149 on the short straight in CP1.

Battled against a friend who was testing stock cars; I tested a stock R32: S2000 vs R32 on Akina DHD and I won by like over 100m+. It doesn't oversteer as much as my Altezza and I was able to hit 3:18:xxx with it; quite surprised.

Then he challenged me back with a stock GC8V and I got pwned...lightly, around 50metres. Decided to fish him back with my modded Altezza but he rammed me at start up and I was sticking to him by the end of CP3 and throughout CP4 but couldn't passed

.

Black Evo Kid vsed him on Iro DhD and pwned him 150metres. Previously I played with him on Iro as well and he passed me at the jumps

. Six gear cars sux at the jumps, but I got my revenge soon afterwards and got him 120metres as he reversed himself at the jumps, hehe.

A dude with an RX-8 sat down and took me to Iro DhD as well, and it was a close race, till he passed me right at the jumps again wtf. Got owned by 40m, then I took him to Akina, won by 300metres, mainly because he stopped to watch me take the corners after owning him at fast straightaway left hand corner after the RHOD. Took me then to Tsukuba Outbound, and although he got ahead of me via the corner, I saw +0.2m on the corner right before it; so yea either my start-up technique rocks or my Altezza slays on startup. Passed at the 2nd corner though through gutterfly >_<, then pulled away 150 metres by the end of 3rd CP; he stopped his car just watch me go through the corners. Nice guy gave me a thumbs up for the race. I swear people playing ID4 are alot more friendlier than IDv3 players, even sworn (I think) rivals I played against in IDv3 and ex-IDv3 players.

Lol yeah I was actually on the phone with a friend while my foot steered.

J/K yeah its 2'48 (which is now a 2'47).

I did at least shaved off 2 seconds off my Akina time (now at 3'16). I'm still experimenting on stuff, getting used to the gameplay. Akagi DH poses a much higher challenge to me than UH. 1st CP would probably be the biggest problem. Anyway my target would probably be 2 seconds off my time at first then another 2 more. Or better yet, have your current times as my goals, Retsu!

but i crash on dh sometimes but can still pull 2'43 with ease.

ok so even though i told myself i wouldnt play again until i go back to america, i decided to stop in after work and try the new ver1.2. dyin to see the differences. but... there was no difference. they only tweaked the online battle system apparantly. but even that had no obvious differences. i can talk about a dozen small things i noticed but thats just a waste of energy. in the end i noticed nothing different nor interesting and was totally inspired to stop giving a crap about this game and save my money.

Full tuned the FD today, while at the same time doing the 7th LotS. I've also started to work on the RX-8, the car having 1-0-0-0-0 now.

Since the FD was FT'd I TA'd Iro DH and Myogi DH...no luck so far.

49"8 for Iro DDH and 36"7 for Myogi DDH.

Akagi DH dry - win

Tsukuba IB wet - win

Irohazaka DH wet - lose - reversed myself just before the jumps

Also made a DC2 today, didn't wana waste visual mod shop visits. Got the Spoon carbon bonnet and Spoon SW388 wheels. Got stage 1 electrical for my AE86 too.

Then watched Retsuka shave more than one second off his Tsukuba OB time.

I finished irohazaka.. i beat Kai with a line i finally figures would work .. after thinking about what INITIALDRULZ said about him taking the outside after the jumps. He took the outside slightly ahead of me, so it drove STRAIGHT on the inside and turned last second and pushed him into the wall as i turned and i got like a 10 meter lead.. and the lead inscreased to like 30 when i beat him. Also.. a bunch of kids were stuck on Myogi Nakazato.. like little kids and they BAGGED me to beat them for him .. and i said no sat first but then i realized they wasted alot of money on him so i said i would do it. after i beat it for 4 people.. some other kids came and asked me to beat akagi for them and i felt so bad for doing it but i did it for them.. some offered me money but i told them no.

Hm...a mixed day today.

Started off with a battle against a Sil80 in Iro, which I dusted him by ~600m. Then I went and TA'd some courses with my FT FD.

Lake Akina CCW Dry 2'45"8 <-- nothing to say, I have no idea what's the proper line, but I saw my top speed hit 212km/h for a brief moment on the 3rd lap.

Myogi DH Dry 2'36"2 <--- improved by 0'6...still have no real idea how to play this yet...

Akina DH Dry 3'04"4 <--- on the very first try too

I think CP2 could use some work..

Iro DH Dry (after countless reverses) 2'49"8 <-- didnt break my current record which is ALSO 49"8. When I get a good CP1 and 2, I screw up the last 2. When I screw up CP1 and CP2, I somehow get fast CP3 and CP4. And all the screwups come from getting reversed...after reverse, after reverse =_=. Both 49"8s (on record, and the one done today) are done with all so-so CPs.

Tsukuba OB Dry 2'50"3 <--- I'm gonna try pushing this to 49 soon enough...

Tsukuba IB Dry 2'51"8 <--- I have no idea how to play this....

And then I TA'd Iro DH Dry with my S2K (stock) and I got 2'51"9. I really feel as if the FD hates me on Iro

I'm also 3 games away from completing the 7th LotS.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get around to finishing it.

EDIT: Oh, yeah I've also tuned the engine on the RX-8 to Step 7.

Managed to get the IX up to 5-3-3-2-2. Feels even quicker now.

Played some rounds with the Skyline, lack of a nice carbon hood disappointed me (since I wanted to go for the Border Racing demo car look). Probably will throw in a set of bronze Volk Racing CE28Ns and Mine's carbon hood once I start tuning the Skyline (won't happen till the IX is FT), to mirror my WMMT3 Skyline.

Started off by TAing in Myogi UH Dry in my RX-8, got something like a 38"0.

Then I went to TA Iro DH Dry in my FD, within 4 games, I improved my time to 49"6 to 47"605. I'm still experimenting with the course.

Next, I TA'd Iro RV Dry with my RX-8, got 2'58. No idea how to play this yet.

Then it was card renewal time. Went rather smoothly thankfully

Spent rest of my tokens on LotS. That's all for today.

Yea, Retsuka, Miata is indeed a good car. My friend bought one and I saw him play, it handles well and accelerates well. He got something like a 35"7 on Myogi DH with 7-5-0-0-0 if I'm not mistaken.

My first post here since starting ID4... oh well.

Still can't battle, but machine #2 is finally being repaired... I plan to go early tomorrow and check if it's totally fixed so I can milk the extra points off the TA defaults.

Beat Ryosuke & Takumi in LOTS to clear Akina, then proceeded to beat Seiji and Kyoichi at Irohazaka afterwards. Lost to Kai, as I have absolutely no clue on how to tackle the jumps without losing too much speed. Tried battling Daiki but lost miserably, as I'm still a bit green in Tsukuba.

TA'd Myogi a couple of times, I hit the snag in a few corners but I still made the 2'50'xxx mark.

2 tunes were committed, Step-3 for Intake/Exhaust, and a roof accessory for the GDBF. GC8 is still stock.

FINALLY GOT A NEW AVATAR TOP!! Grey shirt with flowers. Doesn't look like much but it's a start. I've officially rid myself the default look. Yay! ^o^

irohazaka dh 2'56'4 > 2'55'9 > 2'54'2
irohazaka rev 3'01'1 > 2'59'2 was on 58 but stuffed up cp4
akina dh dry 3'19 > 3'18 still havnt had too many goes at any other course than iro...was beating it by 1 second later on but i stuffed up cp3
then i had 1 go later on with my freind FT evo 4 and ran 2'52'6 , horrible run but its amazing how much the tuning effects the car in this game
and got a mad necklace for my advatar xD

This was a great ID4 day for me.

This was my second time playing and last time when I played, I had trouble with Nakazato (R32 GT-R guy on Myogi) but after reading cornering techniques on idforums, I was able to beat him easily (I know it's nothing to be proud of but still)

Anyway, I was going to race my friend but it matched me up with some guy instead. I new i was doomed because I've never battled before and was only playing ID4 for the second time:

My FD3S vs the guy's S15 - Myogi DH Dry...I actually beat him. (YES!)

Then his pro friend sat down to race me. With my almost stock FD and his extensively tuned S15, i was really worried. He took me to Akina Lake:

FD(me) vs S15(him) - Akina Lake ??? Dry...I win!

Because my friends watching were making such a big fuss about me beating him even though I told them it was sheer luck, they wouldn't shut up so the guy decided to put me in my place:

FD vs S15 - Irohazaka DH Dry...I was owned.

I had no idea how to run Iro at all. Nothing like IDv3 at all.

Made a new card today and even put a bit of humour into the name. I decided to select a red MR2 with the card name "Aka chan" in hiragana. The humour in there is that while 'aka chan' means 'baby' (suitable for the female character I selected) the Japanese kanji character for 'aka' also means red. I figure all the cars on the card will be red.

Didn't do very much with it today however, just cleared Shingo and Nakazato on Myougi to get my first performance upgrade. Engine upgrade step 1 - hooray!

Played at G4 earlier.

Finished all of LotS except for Takumi, who should be a snap next time around. Finally getting the hang of things, but I wish they'd turn up the volume of the machines there, you can barely hear the music+sfx over casual conversation. It gets really distracting when people beside you keep chatting about something else, and knocking on the back of your chair.

I need a little help assessing my times. Of course I cant compare it to the WR but I need to know if its decent enough. I can still push them, I just want to know if Im heading in the right direction...

Akina Lake both directions: 2'48 low
Myogi DH: 2'39 high
Myogi UH: 2'40 low
Akagi DH: 2'39 high
Akagi UH: 2'48 low
Akina DH: 3'09 low
Akina UH: 3'16 low
Irohazaka DH: 2'54
Tsukuba OB: 2'52 mid
Tsukuba IB: 2'59 low (hate this map, lol)

All my wet times are done with just one run each and are 3-4 seconds slower than my dry times.

These are all using my S2000 7-7-6-0-7

today i was expefcting to play a long time. but i was only able to get 2 plays in before the entire building had a blackout

thank god i wasnt playing when it happened. this one guy just beat ryosuke on akina when it happened.

last wednesday I played... I thought you could switch from manual to automatic...I ended up making another car. The new Impreza...

I beat Nakazato (Finally!) and Kenta, Kyle (Kyouichi) (can't spell his jap name) and Ry (Ryousuke)...Strange though...i coudn't beat KT..so I had my brother do it for me...

The game is so expensive...I could't conquer the oither area's...I only finished Myogi and Akagi...I figured lake Akina just might waste my money...

I got pissed with the Counter steer...its really annoying...

Also..It really sucks when there are only two chairs and the other chair is being used by a group of 5 guys who won't let anyone else play!

...compared to version 3...my time has probably gone down by...4-5 seconds at least...

Yes you can. Just keep selecting no when it asks if you want to continue (so you use up plays faster).

Eventually it'll give you the option to switch from manual to automatic or vice versa.

I messed up too. I took another look my time was 2'46, still 3 seconds short of it being decent as you say compared to my DH times.

For Tsukuba IB, I just took two runs and didnt bother again. Its just that I could not memorize the lock points that the S2K has on the map. Its almost like... it actually varies... lol! Anyway for the OB, I already memorized the map, guess I just have to memorize IB too soon.

Anyway, why not give akina UH a shot. Your car IS the course car for that map. Managed to clear LotS for the 8th, 9th and 10th cycles. And apparently the 11th cycle is (and unlocks) the 10th difficulty on the options screen, so I'm not..errr...quite done.

Bunta runs 3'05 for the last difficulty. Beat him 80+m with a 3'03"6. It wasn't all that hard, he did close up the 90m gap I had at the 4 consecs and the start of CP4 to bump right behind me before the start of the long straight in CP4 but once we were on it, I pulled away, and by the time I hit the last right hander I barely saw him on my rear view

Never tried the rest of LotS difficulty 10 since the arcade was closing.

Also by the LotS games I tuned my RX-8 to 7-7-7-2-0.

My day was rather interesting...

Finally FTed my GDBF. The bodywork and and suspension parts were the last tunes on the list, so they were dealt with accordingly. In between ejects, I tried to beat God Hand, which was the last man standing in my way to meet Project D... only managed to outrun him when I got the body tune up to Step 4, and followed his lead on the gutter lines.

Did a few Time Attacks as well, beating cuz's Tsukuba IB record by 5 seconds: 3'01'xxx to be precise. I also made a new time for Irohazaka Reverse Wet, but I forgot.. better check the card data later.

Beat Keisuke after a few rather lackluster attempts, since I slow down before CP2 because of the corner that keeps clipping my car's backside *grumble*. All that's left now is Takumi and *gasp* Bunta...

Next time I play, I'd better TA the GC8 first since I'm due for another mechanical tuning after 1 eject. Since the GDBF doesn't need it anymore, might as well have the secondary car reap the benefits.

Today, I just ran 3 rounds in Iro against Kai.. The first attempt was horrible.. Was really beaten flat.. The second i lost out close enough.. But lost out at the final corner before the straight.. Was neck and neck till i forgot to PC out of the corner..

On the third try.. I did jumping every corner.. Beating him at one point (almost) then at the final corner once again we were neck and neck.. I pc-ed but some how he seem to have more power.. Some how.. and i lost again.. He was on the outside wall when i hit him.. but he pulled out fast..

Another try tomorrow.. Tell u guys about it if i win..

I only go on weekdays after school (when I have the coinage to spare). And even then, I don't play too long, since it's kinda hard to ride the MRT around 7:00 in the evening. Plus, I'm always in charge of dinner in our house.

Cuz does most of the dirty work in the card on weekends, and he plans to shift to WOF North Edsa now since it's closer to his house.

RX-8 vs RX-8 Myogi DH Dry lost <--- got cut in CP4.

RX-8 vs RX-8 Akina DH Wet lost <--- Lost at the 4 consecs, couldnt cut back even with the boost.

GODDAMN THE START SYSTEM!!!!! both times lost because he got me on start. not just got start, rammed me into the wall. I don't get how I was 0.5m in front and gaining, then BAM! speed drops 10 ks and he shoots off. WTF!?

at least a win to keep my win/loss on the right side of 50 >.<

Had a few more races on LotS today - got a couple of upgrades!

Picked up the East Bear Sports mirrors and got Engine upgrades up to 3.

Cleared LotS up to Takumi but couldn't quite beat him in the two attempts I made. I was right on his ass at the very end for both races >_<

GOD. I went to Japan Arcade in Little Tokyo to play me some Version 4 for the first time. I waited like ten minutes for my turn, no big deal really. Then I put in coins for the card, and I get an "Error 403, unable to distribute card. Call the arcade attendant." The attendant gives me my 28 coins back and resets the machine, but I had to leave before he was done. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!

What I've noticed is that you absolutely must run the last section ahead of him and run it well. He really burns up on you in the final straights which is stupidly annoying - he always finishes with me right on his bumper.

Played a bit of LOTS to tune the GC8V. finished Tsukuba and Lake Akina, also beat the stuffing out of Kai.

Still no avatar changes. Finally got offered lips in the slot, but it was "thick lips talking" so I didn't take it.

GC8V is now perfect 1 in all aspects.

will tune my S30 a bit more today, and can safely say, im off ID4.

3 more races in my last break. I decided I would try Time Attack on Akina to try and build up my ability there. I was fairly happy as it was my first time on Time Attack in Arcade Stage 4. Times were:

First run - 3'25"xxx
Second run - 3'20"xxx
Third run - 3'20"xxx

I swear the final run should have been 3'15" because I was 2 seconds faster than my previous run by CP2 but as it always happens, I screwed up and lost as much time as I had gained.

On the plus side however, I did get performance tuning, so the car now sits at:

3-1-1-0-0

MR2 hit 4-2-2-2-3, and topped out a '58 on iro (no wallrape.... yet) and a '44 on myogi wet dh. This would've easily been 40 if on two turns I hadn't let go of the accel during understeer, sending me into the inside >.<

i can gladly say that shitty ID4 is $2 start $2 continue now at all centres around town except yifans (they have yet to lower their price, probably will have by tomorow)

uh..I played again..yesterday actually...

I conquered lake Akina...

Well...It was a pretty okay day for me...I beat Iketani, Kyoko, Wataru and Ryosuke consecutively... (no loss! yay

)

Then...came Tak (Takumi)...I was left bedhind by about 150+ meters!!! I couldn't understand why???! I was doing pretty well with all the others...(Sighs). I tried him twice...I still lost...

why can't i beat him?

Had another 6 races today. Bought the Border Racing "Cling Flap" which I've only ever found listed elsewhere as a sun guard (which it doesn't look like much of. Regardless, I'm not sure if I'll keep it or not as the look doesn't quite sit with me at the moment.

I also picked up another suspension upgrade and knocked my Akina Downhill time to 3'19"2xx

Full tuned, this is not what happened just this day but on a number of days... since we dont have a "what do you think of this time?" thread, I just wanted to post these and ask those who have been playing long (or at least longer than me) how these times are. These are now my current times.

Akina lake both directions: 2'47 middish

I can still see red on all my runs except Tsukuba OB where I'm really having a hard time trying to beat that .100 for the 48. What you guys think? As usual, Retsuka, your input is one of those I need here.

James hit it right on the head - moved to Yokohama last year with my Mrs. to have a baby. I used to play as 'Maikeru' in katakana in Version 3, usually with a white Evo3.

Pretty good day today ....finally figured out some stuff and did...

46'7 iro with my s2k, i should be able to do '45 soon since my cp1 was 0.2 slower and cp2 was far from my best and my cp4 even though lining was bad it was still faster than my previous @_@....cp3 was perfect, exited jumps 94.

Had a really fun day 2day.

Finally beat Takumi on Tusukuba.

Battled a friend after winning Takumi race. Then some guy TRIED and i seriouslly mean't TRIED to fish me on his 86 on Akina Down hill in my RX-8.

Problem was... my RX-8 is 4-0-0-4-0 and his 86 was 0-0-0-0-0.

sometimes boost off u cant get much practice since after ramming someone at the wall u'll be leading and game over if u're againts a decent player. what happens if u happen to meet a player who likes all maps and dun have a fav. to ur expectation, do he/OR HER have to boost off as well?

Umm no. My thought actually, if you played a boost off battle at your chosen track, the opponent lost, and challenged back and challenge for a boost off, it would be nice to comply.

Im sorry I didnt mean it directly at you, it just something that happened to players at Mines too, even since V3.

If possible lets there be no misunderstanding between us. Coz I can see where this will lead. :\

a little off topic: but if u guys played dota, bd is also not againts the rule, but ppl say it's not gentlement, but let's say in WCG finals, it's consider as a strategy to win as well, will u not use it?

sharing a trueno with a friend now, spend farkin ages tuning the beast today.

was like 7-6-3-1-3 to begin with... and after quite some time sitting there and finishing LOTS it ended up at 7-7-7-1-6.

LOTS cleard X5 and will be X6 shortly...

TA= ran 3'10'050... sooo disapointed in that run lol... big crash at the gutters but it was looking close to a 3'07 =(, maybe nxt time... but beat my own S2000 time with a card under another name so RETSU S2K is in 2nd place on that machine... makes me look so noob =(.

If ur stuck on Iro, try turning earlier.

If it doesnt help, start to do PC before the tight corners.

Dont forget you need to PC iro cp1 2nd turn , cp3 2nd turn and last corner on cp4 quite late to get the accel back

I beat LotS for the first time the other day. I spent most of yesterday working through my 2nd time through.

Even though the difficulty has gone a notch up to 1 from 0, I feel that it's a lot easier. Probably just because I'm much more familiar with the game now.

I was leading Kai by about 80m two turns before the teahouse and accidently reversed myself

My old workmate towards the end of the battle, in which I was losing by about 120m and challenges me with his DC2.

He took me to Akagi DHD and he smoked me by about a hungy.

But I pwned him on Akina DHD after by about a hungy-twenty.

Tsukuba OBD. Closed him in CP4 from 40m to ramming his ass. Couldn't get past him though. On the plus side, I was able to get the sweatdrop for my avatar.

He actually had a second and third car, an S2000 and an FC, but he said they were shit.

I'm sitting at 3-3-3-3-2. I am looking to step up from Evo4 to maybe an S2000 of my own. But I'm still gonna stick with it until FT. My girlfriends drive is an S2000 anyway and I tend to use her card more than she does anyway, so no rush

In that case, yes, I would backdoor. In WCG finals, I'm sure there wouldn't be an argument over it since rules are rules. But I've seen plenty of lesser tourneys where clans have backdoored and gotton into heated arguments over it.. ALWAYS because there's people who just don't read the rules and assume backdoor is banned.

The difference between boost on/off and backdoor is that boost on/off is decided before the game whereas backdoor just happens and it's the sudden shock of being backdoored that makes people angry. So with ID, if boost is left on and you really didn't want it to be on, at least you know what's in store for you.

After a long long long absence, I was tempted to play IDAS4 again and shortly got addicted again just like v2 and 3 (thanks to someone...

Well, v4 is a lot different and still need a lot learn, a lot to catch up.
Currently using minimally tune GC8, my fav buntamobile since v2, too bad I didn't know about the 'no continue' method when starting this game, so my tune is still low.
Borrowed an FT 86 and tried to run on Akina dhd but only got 3'11, I'm confuse aswell, can't find any room for improvement

lmao? MT3 owns ID4 hands down, so much ive quit ID4 now just to play MT3 seriously.

ID4= all graphics and no substance.
MT3= best substance but not elite graphics.

if your one of those people that only play a game for graphics be my guest but dont go around saying MT3 cant compare to ID4, ill say this as someone who is probably a much more dominant driver than you in both initial d and wangan.

id4 doesnt compare to mt3. they are on different levels.

lvl 6 takumi is simple as... i beat him in a stock na6c. anyways lvl 6 keisuke is what u should be worrying about, hes much harder than takumi.

FT'd the 86 today...

walked in and saw some guy with an evo 9 beat my 3'10 with the 86 and he ran a 3'08... so i played akina a bit and pulled 3'06'9xx... which is a 3 second improvement in 30 minutes... then i tried again and was 1.5 seconds on my CP3 but i crash the gay RHOD and LHOD and pulled a shit time of 3'07'0xx.

theory is 3'01 since i dont even know how to drive akina.

its official i farking hate ID4, such a noobs game.

So lets see decided to fire up my RX 8 today....

- Deafeated takumi on my fifth try.... Yay.... rx-8 butts keep swinging out instead of sticking into inner lanes.....

- ran a 2 41 8xxx with rx 8..... Myogi is always boring if u always makes critical mistakes at the front...

- ran a low 2 49 xxx with rx 8 today without wall rape in irohazaka ... good... and i was about to quit trying to push my rx8 times....

- changed my rear spoiler to a c-west carbon wing xP

My second run through LotS and I reversed myself vs.ing Kai (again)

I felt rather n00b xD

I didn't play anymore ID4 after that... but I did hop over to the Tekken machines.

Beat some guy's Xiaoyu pretty solidly. They were clearly just experimenting with her. He re-played me with his Bryan and I lost twice, but got to final round in both encounters. *hate Bryan* I got hit by Snake Edge once or twice too.

My co-ordination levels were pretty lacklustre today I guess. (I ended my night by losing to my girlfriend in Puzzle Bobble too)

Finally had some battles today with my 8v vs FD
Akina dhd - won, somehow I felt like I was fishing...
Tsukuba obd - lost, I'm soooo n00b

Myogi dhd - won, he chose this, luckily I had few practices on this course
Iro dhd - won, wallrape and pc all the way
Then I realized that his car has la lot ower tunes than mine, suddenly felt so bad about it.

Borrowed P*K's 86 and run lots of TA on Akina dhd, the best I could come up was only 3'10'7xx, AAAARRRRGGGGH, I'm sooooo n00b

it is possible.... but wall raping makes it faster... after all it is about taking the best lines... i'll get a video up once i push the time abit more... maybe it could be a new technique? peeps in my arcade here are nailing 2 40 xxx on irohazaka here.... thads even more amazing.....

i went to little tokyo today and finally beat takumi on akina. after that i went and beat Keisuke on tsukuba. but i couldnt beat takumi. damn i'm sooooo close to beating LotS for the first time.
