Not Without Incident Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,803 Member No.: 22,878 Joined: Jan 18th 2007 Location: Someplace very violent... | I've been getting a lot of PMs from people wondering what a "CUB" means and asking more info about them. So I made this thread. This thread is dedicated to my CUBs and friends of my CUBs. Basically being a CUB means you are a student under me (WOLF). I do not presume to be an ultimate master and other people may make snide remarks about me teaching even if I'm not considered as a PRO player, but... It's just that I have had some good trainers who believed in me when nobody else did and I believe my skills flourished because of that as well as the training regiment they taught me. So I returned the favor and also looked for people who had potential but lacked the proper training or somebody just giving them a second look. Some of my cubs I found had a trait that I used to have when I was also somebody trying to move it up in the ID world, being fished by people, and all that. - The Training - The CUB club training is a strict regiment that one has to commit to. The exact quests are secret and only a few besides the CUBs themselves know about. It has been the same regiment given to me by Master Feint (Of Team DriftTech.ph) and Master Son (Of Project Panda) as well as some variations from methods taught to me by my good friend Randy (Of Project Tofu) as well as some improvisations I made and added myself in my experience as a member of Team Initial D Philippines. - The Requirements - These are the "non-classified" requirements of being a CUB. 1. You cannot join or make any team when you are under training. The only team you can join in (if you can) is the team that I (WOLF) am in wether its a team I joined or a team I made. 2. CUBS surrender ALL cards and cars they have to me. They CANNOT use any other car save for the training car they have on their level of the training (There are 3 levels). They cannot make any new ones either. Even if they are fished to kingdom come, they have to use the training cars. 3. All training cars are named CUB. You cannot "earn" your name unless you finish all levels of the training. (This is the reason why people thought they were a team because they see more than one person using the name CUB) 4. As for a CUBs future name. They must STRICTLY choose an animal associated with how they drive, act, or just plain love and their car names in the future would be this animal name. They can't "earn" this name until they finish the training. 5. The CUBs act and behave like their sensei, meaning they treat ID players with respect, do not gloat, DO NOT have bloated egos and remain humble at all times and of course give credit where credit is due. Having fun while learning is also a must. 6. You cannot undergo the training unless you are a serious ID player. No half-hearted drivers here, sorry. You really have to commit to the training. - The CUBs - Currently I have 11 CUBs under me. Currently, there is only one active girl CUB at the moment and I'm hoping that my training regiment for girls will help her to grow to the level the boy cubs are at. Here is some info about them in no particular order. 1. Nino (LYNX) - 1st student, was the "guinea pig" for the training - came from being CONSTANTLY fished and an avid wall magnet to hitting 2'59 in Akina dhd using a non-tst line. - He was too n00b at first that I had to create a "level 0" training regiment for him before he started Level 1 training. - Has completed Level 1 training but has not started level 2 yet. (Still enjoys level 1) 2. Rain (FOX) (Inactive) - currently inactive because of real-life reasons. The only CUB able to hit 30 consecutive wins with the training car. - Battle-oriented and clever. - Has completed Level 1 training and is now currently at Level 2. 3. Aries (HERON) (Known as AE85^CUB in the boards) - started the training already knowing how to play the game fairly well. - aims to be a 6 gear specialist. - Tireless player. - Has completed Level 1 training and is now currently at Level 2. 4. Kael/Jack (KOALA) - Newest guy CUB and is currently undergoing an experimental adaptation I made to the training. - Very committed to the training and is always looking for ways to improve himself. - Recruited here in IDW! - Always communicates with me regarding his and his girlfriend Jo's progress. - Is currently undergoing Level 1 training. 5. Jo (KIWI) (inactive at the moment) - Now using the girl's MT training car and is showing REAL potential. I was pretty impressed. She's a prodigy! Just inactive at the moment. 6. Skitz (PYTON) (ElceeTakahashi in the boards) (inactive at the moment) - Formerly the scourge of Shomaru Outbound with her AT RX8, Skitz has also begun the girl's MT training regiment and her experience in ID is showing as well although she still needs to adjust in a big way. Its almost like starting from scratch. But I know you can do it Skitz. Also inactive at the moment, though. 7. Kamyuz (inactive at the moment) - Newest CUB using the girls training method. Also another prodigy as some basic techniques are like second nature to her. - Very fast learner. You tell her what to do and will start trying it as soon as she can. 8. Jasper (ORCA) - Another tireless player who now has a very active battle ground in SM San Lazaro. - Good listener and has laid-back, friendly attitude like the sensei *cough* 9. JMACS (TIGER) - You've heard of him, our canadian friend who challenged me and Ivan for a race when he came here. Well, he's requested to be a CUB and after seeing his TIRELESS dedication and the swift learning curve, I've relented and he's finally in the roster as well. Call him Julian, or simply "J", he's an aspiring artist currently studying under ABSCBN to be a star. He wants to represent the Cubs and Team Philippines in the future when he goes back to Canada. He's got special training since after being in the Club he will go to Ivan for more training. 10. Angel (MAMBA) - Angel is the newest girl CUB. She surprises a lot of people when she drives her former car (an evo4) because of her relaxed style of driving and doing techs (which is what is rarely seen among girl players). She already has a few achievements under her belt and has beaten many a challenger. She joined the CUBS in order to make it as the first girl to join Team ID PH in the future. 11. Gian676 (WHALE) - Gian is the only official long-distance CUB project. Used to having a monstrous car (BNR34), he now has to temper the new training car and get used to driving under my training method. A gentle giant with a loud laugh. - CUB Hunting sessions - The CUBs meet with me sometimes for updates as well as friendly sparring sessions. Some people have asked to be CUBs but I dont really accept just anybody, besides the requirements, I still need to gauge if the driver really NEEDS the training, if I think it might not benefit them or other reasons whatsoever (besides, I'm not getting paid, LOL). Sometimes I will consider a person as a CUB canditate when I see that even if he is fast already, I can still help him get faster. - CUB CLUB International - Mrhan and xFatex who are in the boards are just experimental projects and nothing fairly serious as my in-country students. The real long-distance project is Gian676 who is still in the country but is a plane-ride away (CEBU) - CUB Cuties - Currently I'm looking for serious girl players who would like to be a CUB. All my potentials have now turned into CUBS themselves. - CUBs in the wild - I created this thread as also another means for my CUBs to communicate with me and the ID community and also just another thread for the CUBs and our friends to just have some friendly chatter and also as a means for the CUBs to update me in their current status in the training. So lets chat up and have fun! CUBs you better have attendance here, LOL! This post has been edited by DamienWolf on Jul 15 2007, 12:47 AM |

I can't understand you guys. Just to let everyone know I'm probably one of his overseas students. Currently working on Akina DH and have gotten my time from 3'20 to 3'10 over a period of about 2 weeks. My next milestone is beating my machine's FC record of 3'06 before going for a 3'03. After that? Well I'll see what Wolf have in plans for me. Here's some of my stats Choice of car: FC3S and nothing else. Strike me with lightning if I betray my FC for another car. Syle: Though Wolf told me to use a few erasers, I felt more comfortable without it, probably because I'm just not used to it. My aim is to achieve the best possible times with the minimal use of advanced techs (e.g. eraser, tst) P.S. Haven't seen you in the forums for awhile Skitz. Good to see you again. |

LOL, not exactly. He isnt a CUB per se. But could be considered a semi-CUB coz Im teaching him as well. Its up to him if he wants to take up the REAL CUB training. Its not for the weak-hearted, lol. Welcome to the thread Fate, and good job on your progress. | ||

Not Without Incident Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,803 Member No.: 22,878 Joined: Jan 18th 2007 Location: Someplace very violent... | UPDATE: Very very good meeting today, my friends. I'm proud of my CUBs, they showed good form in the battles earlier and did garner their respective wins. Brian as usual was his usual monstrous self, hehe and he got a lot of battles today against my CUBs, Me, and my teammates at Team Philippines. CUB UPDATE!: I now have two new CUBs! The two girls who wasnt sure if they wanted to commit have finally said yes and are now commited to the CUB training regiment specially designed for girls. Gone are their AT cards and are now using Manual Transmission. I'm so proud of them as they showed real promise and conviction today. 5. Jo (KIWI) - Now using the girl's MT training car and is showing REAL potential. I was pretty impressed. She's a prodigy! 6. Skitz (PYTON) - Formerly the scourge of Shomaru Outbound with her AT RX8, Skitz has also begun the girl's MT training regiment and her experience in ID is showing as well although she still needs to adjust in a big way. Its almost like starting from scratch. But I know you can do it Skitz CUBs, you've made your sensei proud today... BUT... There are still things you need to improve upon. I saw a lot of errors here and there and a lot of wrong lines as well... I hope this doesnt mean you are slacking off eh? @XFateX Heya man, the REAL CUB TRAINING is the training that my current in-country CUBs are doing. Im still not sure if I can extend it to overseas coz Im a "hands-on" type of teacher but lets finish the mission I gave you first ok? Lets see what happens after that...
