I finally make my debut after lurking for about a year on this site. :3
Scott couldn't make it to this week's meeting so I was at the local arcade by myself most of the time. I messed with my new R-32 Skyline for a bit but it's a bit of a struggle for me to control with my usual driving style. I switched off to my automatic Cappuccino and took to clearing one-star LotS mode through Akagi before challenging Bunta. I did a couple on Myogi but I spent most of my time clearing Usui up to 13-stars. The arcade scene is getting a bit slow lately it seems, so I hope we can find some new team members soon.

In the top 10s on the machine I'm usually on the #5 spot. I'm usually between 5-10 seconds off the top time for most tracks except for a few Usui Wet times. No one really battles me all that much and since I keep switching between a bunch of my other cards I have about 3 that are Battle Level 11. As for times I run about a 2'56 on Usui give or take a couple seconds depending on which car I'm using. I don't remember any other track times off the top of my head at the moment so I'll have to get back to you on that.

Depends on which car I'm using. I know my 85 handles Akina differently than my Miata. I think I run about a 3'20 but it's not a course I usually frequent. I keep having trouble on that turn right before the RHOD with the cones and barrier, the one that starts as a subtle left then suddenly changes into a sharp left. I know I'm not all that great, but I've come a long way since I started playing V3 in September.

I'm currently the #1 Record Holder for our local Myogi time. Creeping up on a few other courses as well. Tsuchisaka, Akagi, Shomaru, and Happo to be exact. Akina's just overrated tongue.gif

I'm a racer level 13 on my R-34 GT-R (w/ Aura)
racer level 11 on my S2000
I have a pretty decent collection of other cars I try and balance myself out with.

As for me, I have like 13 cars, mostly the ones nobody here seems to use much (such as the Celica and 86 Levin). My usual cars are a manual 85, automatic NA6C, auto GDB, and auto Cappuccino, and a manual MRS. The shifter acts up from time to time on the side I use and automatics pose a bit of a challenge to completely master a car without resorting to certain shifter techniques.

What's your Myogi time? And you did that with the R34? Both directions and conditions? happy.gif

Right now we're both vying for the top times on our local machines for Myogi, him with his FT R34 while I use my nearly half-tuned R32. I don't remember the exact times but I believe it was somewhere around 2'55-2'58 for both directions and dry/wet.
Also I ran a nice 3'10'0xx last night on Shomaru OB/Wet in my R32, taking over the #1 time on the machine.

Well just a bit of lovely freaking news... Our machines at the Local Arcade @ teh mall are broken. Yup, you heard me right. Broken. And you know, being a team, having people who like the game and will spend their hard earned money at that establishment, enough so to make them have to empty out the coin collectors often (I know I usually spend $20-$30 in one sitting myself, plus our other team memebers) because we HAD frequent Battle Meetings, and not being appreciated like the loyal devoted customers we are, is down right insulting!

Do they care though? No. Does it matter than we are being deprived of our only means to practice and participate as a team? No... Are they all just a bunch of corporate jerks rather than locals who understand us? Yes happy.gif

So I'm seriously considering writing a very mean spirited complaint to the Reigonal Director for the to-remained-unnamed Arcade Outfit that is pissing me and my team off so. And I wouldn't just say that they're lazy about getting the game 100% working again either.

I would also mention all of the things that the employees do that are against the company policy and let him know some of the private information I've become privy to hanging out at said arcade. I'm REAAAALLY mad, and I need my IDVer3 Fix!!!

So in closing, I'm afraid that we're going to have to "sit the next few rounds out" and take the team off of Active status. We're not by any means done, because I love ID enough to endure anything for it, but at the same time we have to have working machines to be able to play.

As soon is humanly possible we are going to be back, and once we are back we'll be better than ever since I'll be having some real time to devote to getting the site looking spiffy and our records and such up to date. I kinda became a Slacker myself >_>; But no more...

(( And yes... our town name is easy to make fun of. Lots of people do... ))

It was bad enough the machines were slightly broken for the past 6 months but now that you can't even play it there's really no point in even showing up until they do something about it. It's the only arcade in the area with Initial D and there aren't any more real arcades around except for the Choctaw reservations more than 100 miles away.

Edit: It seems we're active once again but the power went out at the mall today and the machines are still out of cards so I don't know what we're going to do right now until all that gets resolved.

Yes the machines are back up, and we have four new members to the team. Their information and what not will make it up on the site eventually, just as soon as we get it all collected. Right now all but one of them is using cards made by Kitty and I until we can get more cards for the machines. Also, if you or someone you know is interested in having a real team battle, let us know as we will be ready to travel for away battles in the coming fall. I wouldn't dare think of hosting, because our left side machine has a finiky Steering Wheel and the Right side is nearly pitch black.

On an interesting note though, two weeks ago at our Battle Meeting, Kitty was challenged by a stranger with a fast R-34. Although he did his best for the sake of our home turf, He was beaten by an average distance. (between 70-90m I think it was)

Proudly I stepped up with my Full tune R-34 to combat this amazing GT-R Specialist head on in what we all liked to call the R-34 Destiny Battle. I chose to take him to Tsuchisaka, Outbound, Dry, and Night. Using the advantage of starting on the right hand side right at the first corner to the Sweeper I swiftly slipped into first and only widened the gap as we climbed the hill.

Passing through the Tunnel in the middle my lead passed the 150m mark and I turned off my headlights (on the machine with a very dark screen mind you... kitty can bear witness as he was wide-eyed with the "WTF!" look on his face) and concentrated 100%, leaving one hand on the wheel and the other on the shifter in a tribute to "God Hand" Joushima as I tore through the Rollercoasters with Blackout blaring and opened the lead up to the final 278m advantage at the finish line. ( I might have also let a few "Doryaa's" & "Soryaa's" slip there in the last half of the battle. >_> I know... I am a total G-E-E-K )

The stranger's only words after this display of my GT-R Mastership?

"Ya boy got skill..." ROTFLMFAO!!!

This past week there was also a grudge battle between Kitty and I, his GDB .vs. my Sileighty on Shomaru. The conditions were inbound, night, dry. I remember him calling me crazy for trying, but I also remember him eating those words when the Sileighty and I finished 110m ahead of him. happy.gif

After that the meeting was cut short by an unexpected power outage.

Till next week... keep the throttle down and the rear end out...

That was after I messed around and turned the lights off for the hell of it and found out I couldn't see for crap in the abnormally dark screen. =X_x= I'm not so good at remembering courses without the map/lights on. tongue.gif

LOL! Good story there. Big fan of the anime too, I see. If you get anywhere near 2'53 low in Myogi or 2'39 low in Tsuchisaka, give me a buzz we can have a friendly IR battle. I'll even use my R34. happy.gif

He has a 2'54'xxx for Myogi CC Dry, 2'56'xxx for Myogi CC Wet, 2'55'xxx for Myogi C Dry. However, I hold the machine record for Myogi C Wet with my half-tuned R32 with a 2'55'xxx. :3

Didn't get a chance to make it to the Arcade, the damn f'ing battery in my truck died. When it's not one thing, it's the other. But Friday... yes Friday... it's on like Donkey Kong playing Pong.

So yeah... stay tuned...

Okay! We made it to the Arcade last night. I'm proud to say I've done better, I'm now ranked 66th overall in the US Central ranking for Tsuchiska Outbound Dry with my Full Tune R34, posting a 2'52"546.

See? ---> http://ranking.segarosso.com/inidas3e/n2_r...=&area=69&comm=

Also, Kitty almost shattered the #1 record for Usui Counter Clockwise Dry on our machines, and the US Central Ranking. He had the record beat by a good second and some change before a mistake landed him back below. That would have made it a 2'48"xxx, which would easily give him the #1 spot for the US Central ranking!!! We're not going to give up though, so next week we'll continue the battle to claim 1st place. GO KITTY!!!

Also, a congrats to our new team member HP5k, who is doing G-R-E-A-T. He's making more progress than Kitty and I made for our third time playing the game.

Next week I'll be posting my #1 ranks on our local machine for Myogi C & CC dry, and perhaps even the wet if I can get back up from 3rd place. sad.gif

No battles to speak of this week or next week, we're taking a break from the battling to work on our time attacks.

Until next week, keep the throttle down and the rear end out!!!

I know I had fun today at the team meeting. I just wish it would've lasted a bit longer. :/ Oh well. I forgot I had like 38 plays left on my Cappucino =X_x= so I'm gonna work on some of those times next week. I think I made some tremendous progress on Akagi and Tsuchisaka today as well as a little bit on Shomaru and Usui too. I know I've still got a long way to go for some of these times but I'm getting there I hope. I also have some new goals to reach for a lot of Wet courses for my RX-8 and R32 in order to surpass our local "C"'s times. That's all I gotta say for this week, so until next time. :3
