allow cool air to enter the engine bay? It looks kinda small though, I have heard of people putting those vents in, then positioning thier air filter/intake behind then to get cooler air.

I'd rather have a large front grille than put a whole bunch of those on my car.

wouldn't a large grille create a LOT more drag than one of those handy dandy feed intakes? i see that grilles are major thunbs down when you racing or w/e

well, large grill is usually better. But when u have some crazy car that is better suited to a track than a road, u often have crap like massive intercoolers, and oil coolers behind ur grill. Although often in those situations the entire headlight is punched out and turned into a massive cold air intake. I guess its just to keep the car street legal.

This one here is slightly larger and more usefully

cold air intakes are better than just a large grill, as the intake is more direct.

some high mount turbo cars will have an intake in teh bonnet, because it can go directly to teh turbo, whereas the other underbonnet air that has been brought in by the front grill is all hot, as it has passed through intercooler, radiator, oil cooler and the like

i saw in some import tuner (i think... dry.gif ) that the stock intake was like, hiding behind the engine.....but then ppl change it to some huge air filter thing thats on TOP of the engine....

wouldnt that be worse? as some of the heat of the engine would just rise and mess up the air inside the tube? unsure.gif

people change their stock air filters to aftermarket units, because they are less restrictive, meaning more flow, and better response

the position of the air filter is at the fitters disgresion, i havent seen any on top of teh engine, although many are mounted high in the engine bay, and can suck in hot engine bay air if they are not fed to a cold air duct

When you place an aftermarket intake on a FC or FD, the filter ends up being directly behind the passenger side headlight (see my car in "Members Rides" post in off-topic) The headlight cover in addition to some minor modification to the headlight casing allows air to directly flow into your intake. I thnk I might be getting one for my b-day. For more visit my fav FC site: http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/search.php?s...rder=descending

Yeah, check out my car in their members section. Mind you the lips, headlight covers, and airboxes on the site are made by my fellow members and are "replicas"... Cheaper, and some cases better quality, though. smile.gif If you have any info needs, I really reccommend the site, It's where I did my research before I bought my car.
