what is the big difference? my friend and i were talking, and having a discussion about powersliding and drifting. i think he's stupid because he claims he drifts in his ff, which is a mitsubishi mirage. so wut's the real differences between powersliding and drifting???

I think the main difference is that the driver has less control in powersliding compare to drifting.

A drift is a very controlled and precise technigue, well a power slide is more or less a brute way to get your car side ways. Thats why they use it more in WRC since the road conditions aren't very consistent, and a slide is your best choice.

I've gone into detail on this before and don't feel like doing it again.

"simplified" drift- start sliding before the corner starts, and be strait by the end of the corner

powerslide-go into the corner gripping and slide as u exit the corner

don't you drift sometimes by just turning and then with the speed you have, you loose traction and it induces oversteer... and from there you could drift the rest of the turn... that is if it's a huge, not sharp turn... wink2.gif
