So started last year and bought a old Daytona 2 cabinet to convert into an Initial D cabinet (please dont try this unless your familiar in the work involved there are easier conversions) not the best cabinet but nothing was available and needed to get started. Image size reduced, original size: 1000 x 750. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. Fast forward a few more months, an Initial D cabinet came up for sale... so I benched my conversion (put into storage) and bought this cabinet. Image size reduced, original size: unknown. So this cabinet is now in parts as I will be completely restoring this cabinet to better than shipped condition as it wil be fully resprayed and as many NOS parts I can find... so as of this weekend I bought more spare parts for my original cabinet (this will have the same treatment as the Initial D2 cabinet. So looks like I'll end up with TWO Initial D cabinets now...!!! Image size reduced, original size: unknown. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. I've been on the look out for a 1, 2, or 3 for sale in my area for a looooong time now. Found a pair somewhat local, but I'm not too happy on the price. Can you do me a favor, and measure how wide the monitor section is with the plastic side art (and coin box/card reader) removed? I've heard it's wider than a standard door way, but have never heard exactly how wide. I have owned around 20 games up until now. I'm down to 5 now, having just sold my Sega Super GT. Really looking forward to getting an Initial D machine! FYI, I know a guy who bought literally truck loads of NOS Sega arcade parts. I know he's in the process of moving now, so I'm not sure what affect that will have on him selling/shipping parts, but let me know if you are looking for a certain piece and I can ask him. hey... yeah these are UK spec cabinets, so some parts are slightly different to the USA but only seems to be seat backs?!? However the JAP cabinet has some different panels (lock locations etc. and build quality)... if you got his email I could see what parts he has spare as not sure what I need in full yet I'll measure the width for you, but its to wide for a standard UK door way (2'.6"), though these cabinets come apart easy enough. Thanks for the comment.. Ill try and keep this post updated along with the blog I'm writing about it, if people are interested | ||
