It has been quite a long year for IDW. As the lead Administrator, I feel obliged to go through some of the things that happened since the last anniversary with you.

I am not sure if anyone remember, last year around this time, our forums was hacked by a white hat hacker on its 5th anniversary. It was undoubtedly one of the most chaotic times in IDWF history. Shortly after that, we had the 8-12-05 Forums Intrusion by Jsan? et al., which was swiftly dealt with by our excellent Moderating Team. For the longest time after that, the registration was on manual validation mode to prevent further damage by Jsan?. In the beginning of this year, Google Ads was introduced in threads for the first time and the integration was a big success might I add. In February, Initial D Fourth Stage has quietly came to an end. Subsequently, traffic to the forums and the main site has dropped significantly since February.

And then we had the infamous Tokyopop April Fool's joke. That got the whole forums all worked up in some ways. I was glad to see some of the loyal members to the forums. It was definitely a good experience, except probably to those three people who got banned. laugh.gif Evidently, REYHERKS joined and caused major havoc in the AS section and the Off-Topic section. Registration was once again changed to manual validation mode due to that.

The point here is, no matter what we go through, we will always stick together. Initial D World will go on as long as the community members maintain a strong bonds between each other. Six years doesn't seem very long, but it is definitely not a short time. The forums can last to today is because all of your efforts and your continuous support. I can not stress enough that, without your support, the forums is nothing. Let's also take a moment to honor our hardworking Moderators. You guys are the best, and congratulations for making through the evaluation !!

And now, without further adieu, I would like to wish Initial D World a happy birthday and congratulate it for surviving yet another year on the Internet.

Happy 6th birthday, IDW !!! cake.gif

congrats IDW.

You've done a hell of a job keeping this place up, and more importantly, keeping it growing.

I remember the very beginning of this version of IDW. I never would've thought that a few years down the road that the community you started would be so huge, and still so tightly knit.

Happy birthday IDW, but more importantly...Thank you Perry and all those who have contributed to its growth and continued survival.
