Captain Slow: Just before people would say I have disappeared, here I am again! Yes, I got lost somewhere in Japan after the race with that GTR, but I'm back again, and here goes the new challenge!

Here's the 1st challenge...

------------------------------

You are given 20'000 pounds (20k Cr in GT4 obviously) and you are to go out and buy a used car. You have the option to oil change, but it will be deducted from the change of the 20k pounds you have. After that, head down to Tokyo R246 (Normal), Family Cup, difficulty 5. However, to head there, one must go through Tsukuba Circuit (Normal) where there's a mini race going on. Enter that first, Family Cup, difficulty 2. Be sure to have screenshots of your stint in both races.

In sequence again...

1 - Tsukuba Circuit (Normal), Family Cup, difficulty 2
2 - Tokyo R246 (Normal), Family Cup, difficulty 5

------------------------------

Here are the competitors

Jeremy Clarkson -
Richard Hammond - VTiRoj
James May - Outlaw02
The Stig - Xcert
Top Gear Stuntman - stidriver
Star In A Reasonably Priced Car -

------------------------------

Get going, pillocks!

Well, surprisingly, I was first to arrive with a Lexus SC300. And the second surprise as well was this...

user posted image

Deja vu anyone? Yes, it's the same place I bought the R32 GTR... It still creeps me out this place...

user posted image

So, I got this nice looking Lexus for... 12'249 pounds. After getting an oil change, I'm left with... 7'701 pounds... That's a decent amount of change there...

Anyway, onto the first race!

And.... oh no....

user posted image

Another deja vu... oversteer?

Now then, onto the over taking process!

Popped over to 5th
user posted image

Catching up with that wanker...
user posted image

Overtaken him as well!
user posted image

Clarkson's favourite roadster overtaken...
user posted image

Sorry, but the Nips have just trounced the Jerries...
user posted image

And the bloody lucky one that escaped throughout?
user posted image

How did he get there?

Time: 2'22'770
Position: 2nd

----------------

Okay to the next race- uhoh

user posted image

Seriously, does this Lexus have to keep oversteering!?

Slipped into 5th
user posted image

And beaten another German!
user posted image

This feels.... familiar... (Imagine Clarkson, Hammond, and May. Somehow, they each fit into one of these cars...)
user posted image

And... Oh cock... 4th!?
user posted image

Time: - (Never bothered to copy down the time, so I'll assume to be in the lowest rank unless someone has a lower position)
Position: 4th

What's Oh cock in Japanese again?

Now it’s at this point in the challenge where I’d pull into the car park in a mad 4WD saloon, which looks promising but then fails miserably. So, learning from my mistakes and taking lessons from my one and only TG victory, I pulled up in this, a 1995 Honda Integra Type R. £7,797 was the asking price for this piece of Japanese goodness. Add on a small fee of £50 to change the oil and my total purchase price is £7,847. Leaving me with £12,153 for the rest of this challenge. Quoted power from the dyno was exactly 200BHP. wink2.gif

---------

At Tsukuba, I was thrown into a race against a Toyota Corolla, a Nissan Primera, a Honda Civic Type R, a Mitsubishi 3000GT and a Suzuki Swift. No matter though, I have a far better car! …Right?
user posted image

Right! At the 2nd hairpin I passed the Suzuki with ease and begun a side scraping duel with the Mitsubishi.
user posted image
user posted image

Despite the fact I lost the duel, I overtook the 3000GT before the 3rd hairpin and chased the Civic out of it.
user posted image
user posted image

VTEC battle down the back straight!
user posted image

Bugger!
user posted image

Haha!
user posted image

A sneaky manoeuvre later and I’m past the Civic and the Primera!
user posted image

In pursuit of the Corolla.
user posted image

A small tangle later and the Corolla gets a face full of LOSER from my Integra’s backside.
user posted image

I am the winner!
user posted image

Finishing position: 1st
Total time: 2’38.538

Maybe not as fast as May, but at least I won! biggrin.gif

---------

Ah, Tokyo. A place where power is #1. Well I sure hope 200BHP is enough to overcome a pair of Nissan 200SX’s, a Subaru Legacy, an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA and a Ford RS200… wait, what? I’m going up against a Group B monster?!
user posted image

Standing start meant I was at a disadvantage with my FWD and those 2 4WD cars had the advantage. But this was not the case. The Integra is superb off the line and I managed to overtake both 4WD cars in the first corner!
user posted image

Squeezed past the Alfa, but then I was stuck behind the Nissans for the rest of the lap.
user posted image

Down the main straight chasing the Nissan duo.
user posted image

No chance of overtaking for the whole of lap 2, so I was stuck with 3rd… at least I beat May! tongue.gif
user posted image

Finishing position: 3rd
Total time: 4’26.631

I picked up a used '96 Subaru Impreza WRX STi ver III sedan for 10,097. Then did a oil change for 50. Stuntman now has 9,853 in change to play with. Now off the race for some fun.

Race1 at Tsukuba

pos1 - Stuntman was the winner in 2'14.546
pos2 - Lexus SC300 in 2'20.391
pos3 - Lexus GS300 in 2'21.627
pos4 - Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.0GT specB in 2'22.112
pos5 - Nissan Silvia 240RS in 2'23.160
pos6 - Honda NSX 2'23.890

Race 1 finsh photo
The pass of the NSX for fifth.
user posted image

Next to go down a place the 240RS.
user posted image

Here goes Stuntman for number three.
user posted image

Now to out brake the GS300 for second.
user posted image

The lead is lost down the straight.
user posted image

Race 2 at Tokyo R246

pos1 - Stuntman wins second race in 4'10.719
pos2 - Subaru Impreza WRX STi sedan in 4'15.163
pos3 - Mitsubishi EVO VI in 4'16.018
pos4 - Ruf 3400S in 4'16.375
pos5 - Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II N! in 4'17.734
pos6 - Chevy Corvette Stingray L46 350 in 4'18.169

Race 2 Finish photo

The Ruf is the first to get paased by Stuntman.
user posted image

Now going for fifth the Vette punts the fourth place GT-R causing him the go wide and slow down. This gives Stuntman the hole for fifth and fourth on the exit of the turn.
user posted image

Next up is the EVO VI making the good inside move for second.
user posted image

Stuntman uses the same move used on the EVO to get the lead.

1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata (J) - 9,490

Oil Change: 50 credits

2’31.668
4’46.018

The directors thought that they would give Stiggy a real challenge. So they bought him… A 1997 Mazda Miata MX-5 SR-Limited. With only 9,490 spent on the roadster, £50 was spent on getting an oil change giving it a healthy 130whp leaving £10,460. With the wind flowing through The Stigs… Uh, helmet vents he wisped off towards Tsukuba to enter the first half of the challenge.

user posted image

From the rolling start things were looking good, despite starting last. Of course, things aren’t easy for The Stig.

user posted image

Closing ground through the corners.

user posted image

Taking the inside, and advancing a place and within attacking distance of the 4th place car.

user posted image

Attacking the Dunlop Tire corner with a composed suicide approach earned an easy approach for 3rd place.

user posted image

Taking 2nd place with an out braking contest, and watching as the 1st place car zoomed down the long straight, seemingly uncontested until the sweeping corner.

user posted image

The VW Lupo didn’t know that a “hair dresser” car could be so nimble through the corners.

user posted image

The gap after the first lap.

Finished in 1st and cleared it in 2’31.668.

After carving a way to the Tokyo R246 road course, it was clear that there was going to be some stiff competition… Even The Stig was curious whether or not the 130WHP Miata could compete with cars that were putting down more than 200whp. Of course, the low weight of the MX-5 would be the deadly weapon to be dealt.

user posted image

Starting grid, that Mitsubishi FTO was just a small part of the deadly higher HP cars.

user posted image

The overweight FTO punted the RX7 out of its way and slowing it down in the process.

user posted image

Suicidal four wheel drift to pass the Mitsubishi, for 5th!

user posted image

Took the inside against the FC and the Civic good for 3rd place, but another FTO stands in the warpath…

user posted image

But of course it was no match for the Miata through the corners

user posted image

This was the last glimpse of the turbocharged 250 whp Nissan Silvia that The Stig was able to capture.

user posted image

Blocking down the straightaway!

The Stig finished the race in 2nd place and finished it in 4’46.018.

This is amusing... Jeremy's not here O.o

Anyway, onto the next challenge...

--------------------------------------------

2nd challenge

With your cars, you are given R2 tyres by the BBC management, and then to enter a rally race.

Normal level, Citta di Aria, reverse track.

Post your overall time and screenshots.

After that, you will exchange those R2 tyres for snow tyres. You will then rush over to...

Easy level, Charmonix, normal track.

Once again, post overall time and screenshots.

And yes, do keep the credits you won in the races, including the one in the first challenge.

Outlaw May is the management going to have snowshoes at Charmonix for us?
As we can't run without them.
Also I did not see that we needed to keep the credits won at the start or did I miss it.

Yes, the show shoes will be provided by the management. ohmy.gif The decision of keeping the credits won was a late and last minute one. They apologised for the last minute changes. ohmy.gif
