So why don't you find the part in my post that said YOU were the one that raped the car. I was inferring you picked up a car that was pre-destroyed that you ended up with and suffered because of it. Calm down. Also, who's to say the old lady was the only one driving that car prior? Furthermore who's to say the mechanics she was getting it serviced weren't just shortcutting/not properly doing the work just because it is easy $ and that's how a lot of shitty service places get down with making their profits by taking advantage of those people. There is a lot that goes into these things, but this seems like a very stereotypical situation for such malpractice. Also, maybe you just got a crappy one. The real point is that, Toyotas build better, more reliable cars than Ford. If you want to argue it, then I suggest you do some research on these cars. For your one toyota that died about 5 fords have shit the bed to match. Also ganesh, the post you quoted me on was referring to nissan vs. mazda motorsports... had nothing to do with toyota vs. ford. It's like comparing chocolate and shit IMO in favor of toyota.

Depending on where you live in the states, for every Toyota on the road, there are 5 Fords. Michigan is like 1 Toyota for 100 Fords... I've seen Toyota's that were shit, and I've seen Fords that were junk. I've seen 30 year old Toyota's that were in pristine condition, and I've seen Fords of the same sort. Can we stop calling cars shit now, and get back on topic? This post has been edited by Apex Carver on Jun 2 2009, 02:03 PM

Almost 10k miles behind on my oil change. And it still runs as strong as ever. lmfao I need to change that oil though. I got the stuff in the back of the SUV, just have not had a chance to do it. |

My car was probably a dud, but we've never had problems with our Fords. For you guys saying that Fords are shit, answer Apex's question. How many Fords have you owned to base your opinion on? I highly doubt anyone ever bagged on that car. It just seems strange to me that the rings would suddenly take a shit after I got it if I wasn't beating on it. And to be honest, the build quality of that Camry we had for a day reminded me of the build quality of my Chevy. Very cheap. And this is coming from a Chevy girl. I'll admit to the low points. Now that I think about it, I was looking at my cousin's girlfriend's new Prius the other day, and I was afraid something might fall off if I leaned on it. It just looks cheap. Admittedly though, nothing ever rattled or squeaked in my old one, and even today the doors still sound crisp when they shut. It's just the bottom half of the car and all the mechanical bits that fell apart. Electronics all still work too. This shoddy build quality must be a more recent thing with them. |

Ehhhh, Chevrolet has had some BIG f**k-ups before, for example, the 80's Nova, Citation, Chevette, and more recent, the SSR(It might have been cool, but all it did was lose money for the company.). Toyota's as of late have been lacking soul, something they desperately need. No sporty cars in their line up.

Sure they have the rotary, but the rotary isn't the be all end all of engines. In the real world, it naturally eats oil and is terrible on gas, especially for its size. Then you have cars like the Honda S2000 that are laid out so that they're just as well balanced as Mazda intended with their rotaries. I drove a new Miata once and personally thought everything about it felt awkward. It would probably take some getting used to, but it's certainly not godly or anything. I've also driven an RX8, which wasn't bad, but again, nothing special in my eyes. You should try actually backing your opinions rather than just saying we're smoking something. People might actually take you seriously then. |

Did you not read my post about why Mazda is so awesome? Anyway, my mother, my grandfather, my uncle, and two of my cousins have aaaaaaaall daily driven Fords. They all took shits with the exception of the old Ranger, which is now falling apart slowly. Fords suck. Done. As am I towards a certain Swedish brand. However, do I think they're the best brand ever? Hell no. Aside from one ETCC championship, and a single BTCC championship, their racing efforts haven't been near as successful as say, BMW or Ford. Did you not read my post about why Ford is so awesome? Anyway, my mother, my father, my uncle, and two of my cousins have aaaaaaaall daily driven Fords. None of them took shits with the exception of the old Ranger, which was from the early 80's and was already falling apart slowly. Toyotas and Mazdas suck. Done. Really though this whole topic is stupid because everyone will have a different opinion and defend it to the death. It's like a time bomb of text. It's the reason I rarely discuss cars with people anymore. I don't even know why I chimed in. =\ (USER WAS VERBALLY WARNED FOR THIS POST) - Details: Verbal warning has been issued to this post by Apex Carver on Jun 3 2009, 02:17 PM. - Reasons: Provocative posting

Unregistered | Ford is so awesome that their reliability ratings for every consumer reports has been blackmarked. Meanwhile, when the economy was good, toyotas profits were in the high records, and then they overtook the big 3. Every car has defects, toyota just handled it 10000000x better than ford did. Ford was barely able to make it without any government help. And, yet they still have the shitty american car interior (but it is getting better). Their hybrid technology is toyota technology that was purchased and slightly modified, they got raped in the small car, and economy car market. The F-150 and the Mustang can only take them so far. Cars like the Focus RS, GT40/Ford GT, Mustang, RS200, etc are all niche market cars that are only tools of marketing. They are not the bread and butter of the business. In 2009, for every 100 vehicles: Toyota had 129 defects. Ford had 159. Lexus had 126 problems. The closest Ford was able to get was 134 with it's Mercury nameplate. These are facts. There is no real other way of slicing it. Why do you think people buy japanese? IDW Top Poster Group: Advanced Members Posts: 33,844 Member No.: 3,524 Joined: Oct 2nd 2004 Location: Update Profile | Ok guys, that's enough, I asked nicely, and you did not comply. So first of all, I am locking this thread, because it seems to invite trouble. Second of all, I am issuing verbal warns to the following people : Yoshida Seiji FFdorifutoJ BMWNeoType I understand everyone has their preferences, but calling cars shit and brands sucky is not the way to communicate that fact. I would also like to ask both BMWNeoType and FFDorifutoJ to check their facts because neither of them know nearly enough of what they are arguing against. Knowing is half the battle. |
