QUOTE (http://myanimelist.net/anime/12189/Hyouka)
Oreki Houtarou is minimalistic high school boy. One day, he joins the Classic Literature Club at his elder sister's request.

There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I'm interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Fukube is a smiling boy with a fantastic memory who calls himself a database. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approaches.

They begin to investigate a case that occurred 33 years ago. Hints of the mystery are buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Classics Club. The collection is titled "Hyouka."

Anyone else watching this? I've seen the first episode, will watch the latest (#2) soon. I like it so far.

^ No, she's just really curious. That and she likes to sucker the main character by going all puppy dog eyes on him too. Poor dude, he only just wants to spend his time in peace and quiet lol laugh.gif Or does he.... whistling.gif

Really enjoying and digging Hyouka thus far. One of the few shows that I actually look forward to every week happy.gif

Anyway some of the things I've noticed in Hyouka has just been downright absurd to me. Allow to me display lol:

- animating the back displays on the digital style clocks. Seriously who the hell even does this? pinch2.gif

- Remember that one scene when we're first introduced to Eru? Unlimited Frame Works baby. (Yes all that was for the one 30 sec scene)

- Cloud porn.
(And yes I mean that. KyoAni gave us Snow porn in Kanon, Hair porn in almost all of their works and in the opening scenes of Hyouka ep5, they gave us Cloud porn.)
See the clouds and rays of light shining through in the backdrop? Those were moving.

See the puddles? The clouds were reflected in the puddles too. Moving.

The shadows from the cloud cover? Yea, you guessed it, moving.

Eps 4 was a particularly stand out episode, so if you need to go MIA from the show, I'd recommend doing so after that one lol

But yea, i just enjoy seeing the little animation touches that they add here and there. It might seem a little overboard at times, but I appreciate the effort and it never ceases to amaze me. I mean there were about 3 of those moments in eps 6 surprisingly enough.

One at the very start of the episode.
Second midway through when Houtaru's hair drops after being held up by the towel.
Third at the end when the tree leaves are casting the moving shadows on Eru.

Really beautiful stuff happy.gif
