normally, i just watch them "play" (or more like destroy) with the machines since, as i've mentioned before, someone who isn't their parent/guardian like myself who scolds them will be a demented idiot... when it's my turn to play, i try to ask nicely; if they don't comply, i'll just wait until a parent/guardian takes them away...

besides, i'll be a parent myself someday and i'd feel really annoyed if someone else other than my wife scolds my child...

kids are kids; they have their own rules...

the exception is when they screw up my run (like suddenly pressing view change or mashing the shifter)... then that's the time i get really annoyed... sometimes, to the point that i shove their hands away...

yesterday i saw a bunch of kids played in my hometown arcade (i think they're from International School). one of them which is the negro one (sorry no offence biggrin.gif) sadly played the ID5 and MT3DX. and ME beside him heard some of his talk like this:

Me: *trying to break Akina DH TA*
Him: *suddenly* "OH SCREW THIS MAN, THIS THING CAN'T EVEN TURN TO A CORNER! S**T!"
Me: *accidently crashed, WTF!!??*

to be honest, he's talking like he's screaming when a monster going to attack him so everyone can hear it =__=

oh and there's another one when he played MT3DX:

Me: *standing behind the cabinets for waiting for a turn*
Him: *played story mode against Reina Akikawa, i think he can't beat her and then...* "OH F**K MAN SHE'S REALLY HARD!!! SHE'S REALLY HARD!!"
Everyone: o_O

you know for a 10 yr old kid like him, he really annoyed and frustrated everyone ~_~

well.. for me is, i hate to play during weekends at Times Square or Sg wang cuz it'll be filled with school kids, what i dont like is they crowd around the cab with their friends holding drinks and slurp and burp.. it gets annoying and its very rude to me. there was once a kid who told me "don't tune engine first, tune the looks. more nice. engine no use" laugh.gif. This was cute to me though.. haha.. Just sharing my experience cool.gif

This reminds me of when the kids would try to play ddr with rollerblades. Or the soccer kids would hock lugies at the screen when they couldn't beat a song. In my town, we have 2 shity arcades, the centerpeices being old broken down ddr machines. 70% of the machines are shut down at any time due to Grandmas remembering how much their kids liked the arcade, so they bring their grandchildren, and they think it's a playground, So they hang, and yank, and pull and climb on everything. We've actually had a bar ripped out of a pad. I don't even know how the hell you manage to do that, as the pads easily weigh 200lbs each.

hi...new here, new to IDAS5 too ^^

one time when i started playing IDAS5, i was doing some runs on akagi, getting used to the controls. then i noticed there was a kid who was observing me moving the shifter up and down(yes im using MT) then he decided to go on the cab at my right and copy my movements(when i turn right he turns too...same goes with shifting lol) it didnt seem as he was spoiling the shifter though but thats my story happy.gif

Nah dude, it sounds like the Kid was just sitting there and copying what he did.

In any case though, that is better than what most brainless kids get on the machine do. At least what he did was regular machine use ( sorta. ) and not the Wheel lock-to- Wheel lock- SHIFTER RAPE - thing most of them do.

Did you talk to the kid after, sizzle?

@acstasy : well his bro had a card, he didnt. i just started playing IDAS5 so im a newb tongue.gif

@DigiBunny : didnt bother, it didnt looked like he was raping the shifter. i just looked at him for a little while, he gave me a clueless stare then resume doing what he did(the cab he was in showed the "live" battle from my cab so he thought he was in a white 180 laugh.gif )

Lols, a similar thing happened. I was watching my replay, and then some kid came and started to move the wheel. He ( or maybe a she, you can't really tell these days) was shouting out softly things like "SO COOL" and "YEAH" . He wasn't damaging it though.

QUOTE (strioch @ Jun 27 2009, 10:16 AM)
There is also another type of Kid ...

The one which their parents will leave them with a babysitter and a lump some of money to keep them playing for an hour or so ...

Luckily this happens only on MT sweatingbullets.gif

And sometime, their babysitter will just let the kid play with the machines without inserting the coins. They will only insert the coins when someone ask them if the kid is playing or not sweatingbullets.gif

Get what I mean ? laugh.gif

haha yeah, that happens a lot with me,there's this 2 babysitters (1 is young the other is old)and 2 kids always wnet to the arcade on sundays, then they kept playing mt until everyone who waited them are pissed off then go away, one time ,there's two brothers who wanted to play mt waited for those babysitters and thier kids,,but becoz they waited so long they asked for the attendant to tell the babysitter so they can stop playing, but instead the older babysitter just got angry then leave.. blink.gif
thank God it never happens in IDAS laugh.gif

lolz. those baby sitters fail. actually they epic fail. but it sounds like my arcade. i mean babysitters walk in either with some cash or no cash at all and just lets their kids sit on the IDAS4 machine and wheel lock to wheel lock. and right now we have brand new IDAS4 cabs and i bet it will only take 5 weeks to destroy b4 anything else breaks down.

Some little runt was literally slamming the wheel against the locking mechanism back and forth and didnt seem to care that he didnt adjust the seat. The brat put in a credit and unwitinngly put challenges on. So I did the most mature thing possible at the time.

I sat down and put in my card and took the free game.

Little troops of the freaks kept pestering me during my Akina runs, to the point one fat kid in a green shirt came up and reached over to my shifter. Needless to say I smacked it away right before I entered the snake curves.
Apparently its not parents, but older siblings and relatives that bring them along. They were all watching a tekken match, which explains why the runts were free to do as they pleased.

Apparently, nobody BUT the players care about what happens to the machine. From first timers, oblivious parents and their children with less than 2 digits of age, and old men even, dont seem to understand that letting someone play violently is not acceptable behavior.

Seriously. I keep seeing the elderly with clueless expressions when they sit a kid down on the cab who has JUST learned that he has motor functions and is eager to exploit any little thing that can move.

Wondering about a thread like this lol. Didn't realised this was made some time ago. Here are a few of my experiences :

1) About early December, went to Sunway Pyramid for a short-burst of ID. On my last few games a family came and the ID machines were in the front. They consist of parents, 2 kids and their babysitter. The parents left them alone and quess what? One of the kids came and steering-lock.

2) 2 Weeks later, was doing some runs. A card user by the name of STIX did LOTS against Daiki. He used one hand steering and turned the wheel from end-to-end(how to say it.....He turned left hard till it stops from going 360 then right) Of course he wasn't a kid though.

3) Last week, I went to Penang for a holiday, was going to the nearby arcade. Apparently both machines were occupied by 2 kids. One was playing while another estimated 4 years old, was sitting there doing nothing but occupying space. No one wanted to ask what he was doing so I approached him and asked whether he wanted to use it or not. The boy left afterwards.

Just like most of the players here, when i'm playing TA a kid came and hit the view change button. DAMN! I was so into it and i'm confident that i can break my record.
