It's mentioned in the credits that they only used slight modifications like PVC tires? Does this mean that the tires are not rubber but rather PVC pipes painted black? Great video anyway. yes. compare 4 dollars for about 2 ft of PVC pipe and 3 dollars glue, to $25. for tires and foam inserts and another like 15 $ for rims, and adhesive is like 3 bucks simply put its a poor mans drift tire, which as u could tell it works fine...to a point im pretty sure there running electrical cars on that video. now if ur running nitro fuel cars and ur runnins a 15 engine, itll probly still work fine. but if ur running an 18 and above like i am, tires are a better investment, because ur less likely to loose control and drive into a wall or or something and wreck ur car  edit: i read the credit,s and like i thought, all electrical, HPI tamiya, and i think yokomo wer ethe car makers of the bodies the initial D replicas are most likely Tamiya |

| JEez, i'd so love to do that some time, but i dont even have a decent RC car. any place on the internet where a guy could snag a nitro or gas powered 4wd chassis and a WRX Type R, 22B body? |

| HPIracing.com they have a 98 subaru body http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/7049.html and go for the RS4 3 evo http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/10001.html my recomendation for a starter car itll run u up around 400 unless u go to like say Ebay or craiglist, nab a car with no body shell the shell usually runs about 20+ dollars assuming u want to paint it, u gotta consider paint, and all that junk umm....wut else, if u want a light kit like i have for my skyline body, with working taillights when braking, then its about 27+ on that, i had to buy 2 so it ran me 50 or so |

u can check ebay mostlikely ull find it for like aroun 19 bucks, but itll even out to like 24 due to shipping so itll b the same thing |

i dont own an RC but i was looking quite seriously into it a few months ago and i've read that PVC, or even better, ABS tyres (both types of pipe) are actually better to use than a rubber tyre -- mainly because its cheaper, and when you think about it, drifting around on a piece of smooth pipe compared to a piece of rubber would make drifting easier, too. as far as replicas go (and i didnt watch the video), a friend of mine actually makes drift bodies using real life cars as replicas -- he has taken pictures, or got pictures from the internet of his favourite cars, then goes out and buys the bodies, the paint, gets some stickers made up, and then puts its all together. it turns out really nice, and sounds like a great hobby. you can really put a lot of cash into this if you really wanted, so you might want to really think hard about how much you want to invest into this before you go out and buy it -- especially considering a lot of the packages you'll find in stores and even online DONT come with everything required to run it (unless it is specified otherwise). |

| They sold some "drifting" RC cars for the Tokyo Drift movie.. I got the 350Z with the black and gold.. comes with spare tires and everything.. so far I can do badass donuts.. and can semi-drift. but it takes some practice. |

| 600$ aus got me everything but a motor, reciver, transmitter, esc, battery and paint, it came with the white FD body in the clip in an earlyer post, but i fudged up the paint job on it so i went and got this awesome 350Z that came with these damn nice black nismo rims and twas allready painted, the stuff that didn't come with it cost me $200 more, if your going to get an electric one, you don't need the most powerful motor, anything will get it sideways, if your getting a petrol one,be careful it's got mad speed, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghS1Y9O3Cjo&mode=related&search=, way more than a electric. anyone got other views? i wana hear em' |

| I spent over 1000$ for my race-spec SST2000.And that is for a used second hand chassis.If you buy a unused chassis,it will jump like to a 1500$. For those who will start R/C,I think I have the right to give some advices;being over 6 years in this hobby. -You really really should have a solid budget backing you up.Everytime,but everytime;something breaks or gets unusable or somehing like that. -The need of a real good electronics and mechanics,unless you get yourself a mechanic,which is really absurd.R/C isn't all based on driving. -Electric is cheap and clean,but slow and has the most less driving time.Sure,you can have stock of batteries and can have a 7T engine,that twists the plates.Nitrogen cars are expensive,dirty but have the ''go''factor.But most of all,you can't drift t3h NAWWZ cars.You will end up blowing engine,because it revs really really high.Like a 100.000RPM,no extra zeros there. |

| Hi guys! I'm E3lipse from SGDrifters and the video posted is one of the videos that the pioneer members made. Initial D fan too. We use PVC (grey) and ABS (black) tyres to drift, you can't really drift with rubber and they are 4 wheel drive. A basic kit is Tamiya TT-01/D based on currency conversions, it is around $200-250USD per set (including battery and controller) You will have to check with your local hobby stores. Lately we started using HPI Drift Tyres which is very hard plastic or rubber (no idea) and it drifts great. The cars are 1/10 scaled and you can get bodyshells like AE86 and what not and spray it to the colours of ID. | You could probably get a decent starting setup (TT-01 used) for $250-$300 USD. Check out http://www.freewebs.com/rcdori/ if you're looking for used ones or for info in general. | Bluedragon, your ae86 is pretty awesome, I gotta say. I take it you painted the body yourself? I wish r/c was cheaper :/. I just got rid of an e-maxx and an XTM for some money, but I barely made a profit. I was checking out some HPI and Tamiya "drift" kits the other day, I think I'll make a move one of these days and get an Rs4, not for drifting purposes, but fun on a track or open lot. Anyone have any advice about rs4's? |
