He crashed it himself trying to drift with tofu in the back and a paper cup full of water in his $50 cupholder he imported from Japan. With all the money spent on the car and none spent on seat time, his attempt failed and he slammed the car into a light post. Fortunately, there were no injuries as the drunks on the sidewalk that late at night saw his attempt failing even before he did.

did you get modified car coverage? its called something like that, if you just got full coverage they will just go by kbb value if the repairs are more than half it will be totaled out. But you can always buy it back from the insurance company after sad part is it will be salvage title. Thats how i lost my cobra i miss that car.

IDW Goldmember Group: Advanced Members Posts: 3,835 Member No.: 2,098 Joined: Jun 24th 2004 Location: Bay Area, California | I was caught in a pile up on the highway. The car in front of me slammed on his breaks. I did as well but the brakes were not good enough. So I slowly went into the jeep. The hood was messed up and so was the bumper. Right now i am battling it out ith the insurance company. They deemed my car to be worth 1000. They wanted to write a check to me but I told them no. I told them I will be proving my car is worth more. i hired an appraiser and sent them the appraisal, they took a few weeks with that and then decided to hire their own appraiser and she just checked out the car yesterday. Everything that I have helps increase the value of my car, receipts, trophies, magazines. So if you guys have anything, please let me know. |

For a second there I thought you totaled the car but if you're ok then all is well with the world. Funny to hear that the appraiser hired another appraiser. Its almost like appraiserception. Crazy stuff man. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

A very common story, joe shmo looks at a little blue book and tries to cut a check. Thankfully with your car it should be mildly easy to prove an increased value, you hear about this alot on club 4 children. Im sure everything will pan out ok enough, keep us updated if you dont mind. Best of luck to you on this one This post has been edited by sideways on Oct 24 2012, 03:40 AM

I.E making sure they dont skimp on possible mechanical damage or body work just to get it out quick. take it to a known ASE body shop. A friend's Z32 was crashed into and the insurance fixed it but did a shitty job, it had all kinds of shimmy's and weird noises but the body shop was qualified.. just do your research a bit. it turned out to be a bent rotor and the insurance company didnt want to fix it. it was a huge deal, eventually everything was fixed. |
