Just wondering if you guys feel that Mazda RX-7 FD/FC is a good choice? I got a RX-7 FC3S but i felt that I should have gotten a FC ): Also, i kept 'kissing' walls at Mt.Usui. ): |

FD's a generally good choice for beginners; It's an all rounder. The FC is similar, with an advantage on Akagi DH. And if you have trouble keeping away from walls, it usually means you're heading in too fast or your lining is awkward. Slow down more, and watch some Time attack videos on youtube to get an idea of how you should take the turn. |

When you hit it, your acceleration bogs down for a period of time depending on the severity of the wallhit. The last thing you want is to get that in Usui; your top gear actually in negative accel because you couldnt keep your car away from the walls. |

But do the machine a favor and dont spam eraser like mad; it takes its toll on the shifter. ( Nobody wants a dead shift knob now do we?) Eraser functions essentially as a turning aid. When you downshift and your steering wheel is at an angle, you will notice the car will start to lean more towards that angle. Generally you would want to brake to the proper speed, turn the wheel in, and once you're in the middle of the turn you can floor the gas pedal, though that varies with the turns. Holding your brakes in more will do nothing but cause understeer, since you basically lock your front steering wheels. |
