Recently I purchased TC-80N3 from eBay and has been playing around with this new toy. It is a timer control for Canon bodies. It is made for timelapse photography. If you are into this type of photography, talk about it here.

Make sure you watch it in HQ!

My workflow is pretty straightforward. Take tons of images, each 1 second apart, then join them into 30fps with software, then throw the video file into Windows Movie Maker and call it done. Let see some of your timelapse photography.

Is there a way this can be done just using the EOS control software and a laptop?

Yes, EOS Utility has a remote shooting option. You can program it to do what the TC-80N3 can. grin2.gif

I see you have that joystick grip on your tripod. I've been meaning to get a new tripod to replace my POS; what set to you have and how much was it? I've been looking at manfrotto stuff, but I can't find any local stores to try them out in and am weary about buying online.

I have the Dynatran AT-858BL. I think it was $119 when I bought it from Amvona. It's fairly cheap really.

I'm curious as to how you're figuring out what shutter and f-stop to use so that it's not overexposed with the sun up and not underexposed once it's down? Or are you changing them as the scene progresses?

wow i totally forgot about this thread!

here's one I shot the other night:
YOUTUBE ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49taI9OtHYY )

as far as settings, it depends on what you need. like for my nighttime one, i wanted a fixed shutter, but for a sunset, you can leave it on apreture priority or shutter priority and it will figure out the rest. probably best to leave it on Av, unless you need a specific shutter speed.
