I think you should stay in fifth except on the hairpins, then just ds and take the shortest line. I think thats what you should do, but I have never raced an RX-8, so I duno. I really don't like using sixspeeds on Happo....

yea happo is kinda more confusing wit a 6 speed... wit my nb8c 6speed i go mostly 6th gear and then in the uphill hairpins (IB) u gotta see the line on the left lane right be4 they start and then at that line brake shift down to 4th and the crank it... yea just try taking all of them at at least 95 - 105! the only other time u gotta shift down is on the tunnel turn or that turn that is after the hellla fat downhill part... or if u hit the wall and drop to about 130 u gotta go to 5th

i would say stay in 5th for most of the course (except for the begining) and downshift to 4th or 3rd, depending on your speed and the steepness of the corner

yea i agree with you there. you should be able to get to 6th gear relatively easily on happo with the rx-8. the uh hairpins, right turn after the fast dh straight, and after the tunnel should be where you need to downshift. you might have to downshift towards the end too 'cuz i can guarantee that unless you are an rx-8 god there's going to be at least some wall contact on the last uh section

Is this for inbound or outbound? I usually go into 6th when playing inbound.

i drive a RX8 on happo, quite often but i dun run a great time. u should be able to stay in 6 for most of the coarse, i mean if u stay in 5th the best u can get to is 145-6ish? so that realli sucks. usually most ppl mess up the uphill S turns for inbound. for RX8, before u enter the first turn, shift down to 3rd for a sec then switch right to 4 for the turn. then after all those turn til the end should be in 6th gear. u just gotta turn the wheel as much as possible, it'll seem like u r about to crash but it doesn't. RX8 is nothing like a 86 or civic, dun expect the same line.

for outbound, the first part of the course u should be in 6th gear, right until u hit the hairpins
