There is no such thing.

Posted by: Xellos Oct 10 2005, 11:39 AM
Yes there is. But thanks for you're input.

Posted by: zomg Oct 10 2005, 11:42 AM
I don't believe you until you show me some proof of this "Japanese Live-Action Movie"

Posted by: Perry Oct 10 2005, 03:05 PM
Never heard of it in my 5 years of running Initial D World. There is no such thing. Unless you are talking about that Shutoku Trial Max thing. But that's not Initial D.

YES, there is a Japanese Live-Action ID movie. It is exactly the same as the other Live Action Movie except it is re-dubbed with Japanese voices. I don't think it's out yet.

There is some speculation that it will contain Eurobeat, but it's not confirmed. The theme song is going to change however; you can find a link to download it in the Live Action Discussion topic. It's the song in the second half of the trailer in the link below, called 'Blood on Fire' by AAA.

There is supposedly a fan-made version of the movie that has eurobeat. This is NOT the official Japanese version release. The Japanese version isn't finished yet.

Don't believe me that there is going to be an OFFICIAL Japanese dub of the movie? http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trailers/gaga/inisiald_large.html

Posted by: zomg Oct 10 2005, 10:01 PM
If it's dubbed in japanese, it doesn't make it any more japanese than the original one... just a dub.

And according to this I guess the answer to the first post is "no" because it's not out yet.

is there a jap version or not?

Posted by: Smiley_DC2 Nov 1 2006, 11:29 AM
There is a japanese version, but it is simply the already released HK live-action movie re-dubbed in Japanese.

As far as eurobeat is concerned, i know the theme is a j-euro track. I don't know about the rest of the soundtrack. I don't expect there to be eurobeat just like in the anime.

can someone link it or host the japanese dub

Posted by: siathry Nov 2 2006, 06:41 AM

The Japanese don't mess with perfection. That's why there was never a Japanese live action version of initial d. If they were to have made a live action movie, I'm sure they wouldn't make it the pos that the Chinese production company did. I've yet to watch the whole movie. The synopsis, the drifting gtr, itsuki being the manager's spoiled son, driving an ae85 trueno, no keisuke and no impreza was enough to tell me it's pos. They even call Haruna/Akina mt. Gunma... Wtf?!

Anyways that movie was garbage.

Someone please buy it & upload it!

This movie came out in 2005, and for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, it's currently on Netflix.

This is the most weaboo thing I've heard in literally years. facepalm.gif laugh2.gif I wanted to stop reading at the Japanese don't mess with perfection... They're not gods- they're just as fallible as anyone else. Half the crap that goes on in Japan is honestly needlessly complicated and disorganized and when you ask a Japanese person why it is that way, they just shrug and say 'that's the way it is'. I joke about this with my Japanese friends all the damn time.

It's someone's reimagining of the series and you obviously never even gave it a chance because of some narrowminded reason. I'm not saying this movie is good but I'm calling you out and saying most Japanese movies aren't exactly high art super production quality blockbusters either. For every bad Chinese film you name I'm pretty sure I can find a bad Japanese one.

@Keg11- Why would we want to purchase a poorly dubbed version of a movie, in a language most of the board members do not understand? derp.gif I'd understand if it were originally Japanese or if most of us spoke that but I don't think anyone's going to get any greater enjoyment out of that. If anything it forces even more of a suspension of disbelief because we are now listening to desynched audio.

1. Yeah, that's why Battle Stage reanimated all the CG scenes from First Stage from scratch. Wouldn't need to do that if it was perfection! And how about adding scenes that weren't even in First Stage (likewise, Battle Stage 2 adding scenes that weren't even in Fourth Stage)? If the series was perfection, why bother adding content? That's stupid! Of course that's just Initial D. Take the first Rebuild of Evangelion movie. It went through two revisions. If it was perfect, why did they change it? Twice? You have got to be kidding me, here.

2. How dare they call it Mt. Akina when it's CLEARLY Haruna!! Bastards! Someone go strangle that bastard Shigeno for being such a filthy, dirty rat! (If you don't understand where I'm coming from here, I can't help you)

3. In your opinion. There are many who share that opinion, too. However I honestly enjoyed it with the one thing that annoyed me being the scene where the speedometer became a tachometer. As a re-interpretation of the story it was just fine. And that's what it was--a reinterpretation. Just like how the 2009 Wangan Midnight movie was a re-interpretation of the Wangan Midnight story. There are people who hated that movie too for getting things 'wrong' (story and technical). But...but that can't be! It was Japanese! rolleyes.gif

And no, Demon, it's not the end of the thread. Your weaboo antics shall not be the final say in what was a perfectly good discussion even if it was revived by six years.

I honestly enjoyed the movie. I thought the sound effects and the story were pretty darn good.

If ever there was an award for sucking the collective dicks of the Japanese, we'd have an undisputed winner. You've got it all, buddy, don't ever lose it.

i Thought this was a chinesse version not a japanesse.

In my opinion the movie wasn't the best way to recreate the manga mad.gif

Thanks for the Japanese dub
Although the voice acting didn't reach my expectation, it was well done. I had hoped that they have hired the voice actors from the anime series to do the live action dubbing but they didn't sad.gif

Japanese dub or not, it wasn't the best interpretation of Initial D. If they ever do another live action one, I hope they do a better job.

Hi again.

I managed to find a torrent on this version (http://www.nyaa.se/?page=torrentinfo&tid=398472), but I was having trouble with it (virutally died off with 15% remaining)

If anyone has the time... get it and upload the movie to YouTube or something? smile.gif
