So I guess this is it. This is how WRX DEMON Type R ends. >< I'm actually a little worried about this. If anything goes wrong, and I'm annihilated by North Korean fail debris, just want to tell all the WRX DEMANIACS out there to keep looking to the stars of the 7 sisters to remember me.

Just kidding... Btw, maybe you can set me straight, but aren't there restrictions on the size/other of the Japanese military since World War II? |

What? Anyway, I wouldn't nearly be worried about the falling debris...Falling debris means the missile has been successfully shot down, and that Japan's missile defense system is working...What I'd be more worried about, is having a nutball Communist with nuclear ambitions for a neighbor...I'd be more worried about North Korea doing missile testing in the first place...

College will only protect you until the end of your term, unless you're a senior and you have enough credits to graduate. If you are and you do, then you can delay it until you receive your degree. BOZZY: IIRC, Japan doesn't have the ability to declare war, but there isn't really a limit to the size of the military . . . so "Self-Defense Force" really is a fitting name. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And even then, there is no draft; The US military is all-volunteer...Why do people still sweat bullets over that? The last time there was a draft was during the Vietnam War, and that was over 30 years ago... Either way, yes, the Japanese "military" is actually a self-defense force limited to only passively defending the territorial land of Japan from attack, though legislation in Japan is trying to change that in light of the active threat of North Korea and China, starting with officially acknowledging the JSDF as a "military" recently...

More than one even, since he is using the plural... Maybe these WRX Demaniacs (spelling fail on Demon's part) consist of simply WRX Demon, WRX Dragon and _CRASH_?

Abba Zaba, you my only friend! Group: Advanced Members Posts: 4,681 Member No.: 469 Joined: Jun 11th 2003 Location: NY | North korea shooting any type of nuclear weapons at any country would be suicidal. And there would be no need for drafts that is a thing of history, north korea would cease to exist and we have seen the outcome of nuclear weapons in the past and it was devastating just multiply that by a hundred times if it where to happen again. So if Kim Jong-il where to do something towards the likes of south korea or japan he would just be digging his own grave regardless even if he has the likes of a radical Mahmoud Ahmadinejad funding him . |

There was also the "no Navy" restriction. It was set for 50 years, that came and went back in the mid 90's and so they are allowed to have a Navy now.

How is Ahmadinejad a radical? He denies the holocaust and thinks the US is bullshitting in order to invade Iraq and Afghanistan. I think those are perfectly legit beliefs. Remember, it's not him that's against America. Mahmoud strives for confrontation, as in, talks and negotiations with other nations. The Ayatollah Khameini (the supreme leader of Iran) still holds his staunch anti-American viewpoint that he's had since the 80's. The Ayatollah is the one that calls the shots, NOT Ahmadinejad. Ahmadinejad is actually pretty powerless even as President. This post has been edited by Tessō on Mar 31 2009, 08:13 AM

Because of the pacifist nature of the JSDF, they also don't have "marines"...

There still are restrictions on the amount they can spend on the army, AFAIK. However, 4% of the world's second largest economy is a heck of a lot of funds.

Actually, Wikipedia defines a marine as "a member of the military in an infantry or amphibious force under the authority of a navy, or in several cases, of an independent amphibious forces (e.g., the United States Marine Corps)." So technically, anyone sailing on a boat who grabs a rifle and runs on shore can be considered a marine, even if they're not a part of the USMC, Royal Marines, ROKMC, etc. Even a Navy SEAL could be considered a "marine," since he's an amphibious warrior. tl;dr: Just because Japan doesn't have a Marine Corps doesn't mean they don't have "marines."
