Understeer in MY ID5? Granted, I haven't played that version in quite a while, but as far as I can recall, Understeer was nonexistent for the most part. I mean we DID have to slow down to ridiculously gentle speeds to manipulate boost.

I'm coming at this from a trackday racer perspective. From my observation IDAS4 was notable in that you hardly ever had to apply the brakes - it sort of drifted and kicked the rear end out all on its own if you turned the wheel hard enough. This was most apparent in Akina DH; you could enter many a turn in 3rd or 4th and still manage a decent exit. Doing the same things I did in IDAS4 did not get me very far in IDAS5 - you'd understeer and hit the guard rail. In IDAS5, when you see a hairpin, you have to treat it like a hairpin. Scrub off speed, downshift to 2nd, turn in - just like what you would do in real life. To be honest, IDAS5 felt the most natural of all the IDAS games to drive, so far. As a trackday nut I felt right at home, unlike the ridiculous speed penalty and self-drifting physics of IDAS4. I don't particularly care about setting lap records in these games, so your perspective and mine may differ. This post has been edited by Type 100 on Jun 23 2011, 06:20 PM

I see. I didn't realize you were speaking of the game in the context of ID4 as well.
