So bad tags and filenames on ALL uploads. Oh and I have them all, minus Vol.5 but I should have a copy of it this month. I thought there was no links until I click the images... |

Artists Track 1 through 4: 花たん Track 5 through 8: FN2 Track 9: peЯoco. Arranger feat. vocalist or Remixer feat. vocalist is stupid. Just use the vocalist. Seriously, Sendai.

Let's prove my point then. Let's take "Believe" (the song, not the album) by Cher and it's on a compilation of some sort. Would you say... "Believe" by Cher on compilation X or "Believe" by Brian Higgins, Stuart McLennen, Paul Barry, Steven Torch, Matthew Gray, Timothy Powell Feat. Cher on Compilation X? Because, you know, the composers/arranger/remixer is more important than the vocalist.

makes better sense to have arranger then vocalist, that's the way most tracks work when send to A&R for a label.

Sure, but there's something you forget: lots and lots of techno tracks' composers are making instrumental tracks. Those that have vocals, they do make sense by having Composer/Arranger Feat. Vocalist since the artist mostly do instrumental tracks. But not here. Digital Wing (and the other circles working with them) mostly make VOCAL arrangements. So, the arrangers always wanted the tracks to be with vocals so it would make sense that the main active performer is the vocalist. If the song is instrumental (like the Minoshima tracks), then, it DOES make sense to credit the arranger as the performer. An arranger or a composer isn't an "active" performer. You wouldn't see them on a stage but you would see the vocalist.

That's why I said “most of the times”. If you have an outstanding vocalist like Cher then it's obvious to take her name. And she's not only a vocalist, she has also developed a stage personality. Cher is a whole marketing product. But Eurobeat is a different thing. Most vocalists have different aliases depending on the mood of the song or depending on the arranger/label of the song, so you clearly know what to expect. Me too, I use different aliases even for music arranged by myself depending on the style. I make 90s style to today's Eurobeat under the name Anthony McBazooka, Italo Disco and 80s style under the name Objet de Plaisir, and progressive rock (with fantasy/sci-fi themed stories) under the name Fyra. It's always the same vocalist but the style varies so much that just mentioning the vocalist wouldn't give anyone an idea of what to expect (which can be nice too of course, but for marketing reasons it's better like that).
