I can only say one thing, but I hope it doesn't provoke anybody. The shift point for Trueno AE86 with 20 V racing engine (Takumi tune):

1st-2nd: 8,500-9,000 rpm
2nd-3rd: 9,000-9,500 rpm
3rd-4th: 10,500 rpm
4th-5th: 11,000 rpm

On a side note, never drag the racing engine for too long in a gear, as you will lose quite some speed.

R U SURE U ARE IN THE CORRECT SECTION???
=.=
This is IDAS4
NOT ID3-.-

@mist : relax. I'm juz pointing something out=x
There is simply too much ways for starting the game=x

Umm.... this is what I found out from my friend's full-tuned Trueno AE86. As I see from other players who drag their gear, I noticed they drag the engine at max rev when cornering. That is where they slowed down. No, I'm writing about Stage 4, not Version 3. I don't play Version 3 anymore.

They have to over-rev the engine when cornering.
That's the only way NOT TO lose speed.

Seriously....
Please actually know what are u trying to tell us....
I'm running 3'05'xxx in akina and the ONLY way to hit IT is to rev the engine to the limit esp the 5th gear-.-
Unless u can point out WHY i shouldnt rev limit....
I suggest u juz listen to advices by other players who have tried different techniques and shared with us.
For that, you should be thankful and not posting some reply that makes us super irritated.
The reason y u lose too much spd while conering at ur tachometer max is either
1) U let go of ur accel
2) I'm thinking too highly of u

The game has been out like 2 months and we have answered dozens of rumours for the game itself....
No need for shifting points
No need for some 'legendary drifting techniques'

Juz keep to PC and u will improve with constant practice

I have a AE86T and i have been told that a cold start is better for five gear cars. Actually i don't know how to do a cold start. sad.gif Can someone clarify how to do a cold start? It's even better if you can include a video.

A cold start is when you wait for the go signal before stepping on the gas while a hot start is basically keeping your foot on the gas while the countdown is still going.

Hot starting a 6 gear car makes you have a less chance of screwing up to 2nd gear, over-revving 1st gear screws everything up.

6 gear cars can hot-start and hit 2nd gear right away....
5 gears cant hot start, best to know when your horepower kicks in...
E.g.

FD > Rev over 6.5k and power comes in..
So..
I usually rev in between 6.5k to 8k

thanks for the tip...it really works good
sucks i cant do that with 5 speed.

well the difference between ft and stock seems to be about 8 seconds according to other posts in the forum. So all other things being equal, the one with the ft should win. And as for the changes in skill is probalby due to the different phsyics and "cheats" that are used to succeed like eraser and tst in v3 while we use pc in v4

Its explained on this thread ---> https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=31636

Please do try to look at the stickied threads first before just asking questions on the fly. A little effort can get you what you need faster than you making a post.
