I'm getting FPS slowdown for no reason. At first I thought it was popping up whenever my templar follower played a voice file regarding the quest, but then I found that it was hitting me every 30 seconds.

What the hell. My latency was at 160~200 all day and never showed any problems.

There IS a single-player mode, but it still requires a server connection. I'd explain it in detail, but it's 5am here and I can't be assed. Also, there weren't any seperate modes in D2, it was just the same stuff but with moar people.

Just got it installed after half a day in the garage.

America servers are down until 3:30PM PST. As in, they are completely shut off.

Some folks have switched to European or Asian servers since they're still up and running, but my experience has boiled down to "1300ms+ latency for 2 minutes followed by a disconnect message". Note that characters do not transfer between servers, so you will have to start over if you want to try playing on another server.

This thread on the D3 site forum is keeping up with things. Be wary, it's mostly full of whining idiots that don't understand that release days are always like this. The first post is really what you need to keep refreshed, as Blizzard is updating the maintenance timeframe every now and then.

Well, this is a pretty loud and clear message to Blizzard that they need to fix their shit and either get some SEA servers going or massively improve their infrastructure. Not being able to log in nine times out of ten and then having horrendous lag, dying to single mobs and then getting disconnected on the off chance you manage to get on is just not acceptable when the problem is isolated to a single region. I don't want to have to play at three in the goddamn morning just to have a stable (yet still laggy) game, some of us actually work for a living.

It's pretty nice for a $80 log-in/error screen/screensaver package, though.

It's launch day, guys. This shouldn't be completely unexpected.

There's just no way to know if things will stay under control until they're not. Beta testing can only do so much, and it's only once you fully load the servers and fully test it on every setup out there that you find everything you did wrong.

That still doesn't solve the major issue for SEA players, does it? That's gonna persist until either there's SEA servers or Blizzard decide to drop this online bullshit. Doubt either one's gonna happen, honestly.

Big ups to InitialDRulz and SgtXDNX for joining me this morning and beating the shit out of Act II. Belial was a BEAST!

Shame IDR wasn't on for Belial, that fight was ownage. We make a great team, with all the whirlwinding and dakka. FEAR MY CROSSBOW SHOTGUN, BITCHES!

Yeah, Belial was an insane fight. I was not expecting a 3-stage battle, and then the many deaths that followed in his final form.

Not to mention two or three wipes. That was absolutely mental.

The cinematic after finishing Act III... just... wow. Holy shit (literally).

Act IV is HARD. Our group consisted of myself, another barb, a demon hunter, and a wizard. We got slaughtered endlessly in the first area of Act IV, after getting through the gates. I fear that it will be a while before I can conquer this game.

Auction house bugged out on me at the end of the day. I couldn't sell items... and I really want to get some gold for my legendary stuff.

Dude, Llama and I did it earlier, it was a damn fun struggle and involved much shotgun spam. Even wiped on the boss twice. Not too bad for two people, I guess.

And yeah, the cinematics are goddamn amazing. Our jaws were on the floor for that entire cutscene.

So you two completed Act IV? I'll attempt to tackle it this afternoon if latency isn't too bad. Around 4PM, kids get off school here and my latency starts dropping from confortable 80-120ms to up in the 300-400ms range for hours.

This happened to kick in yesterday right as I began Act III, where all hell literally breaks loose and the real heavy hitters start appearing to kick your ass.

Man, that's the kinda latency we play with constantly, occasionally spiking up to 2000+. If you want to completely bulldoze through crowds like we were the other night, we're both on and waiting for the server maintenance to finish.

Finished normal difficulty, on to nightmare. I think I'll grind a few levels in Act IV normal before doing so, as I find myself to be a bit too underpowered in Act I nightmare as a level 32.

Went back to Act I normal to mash the challenge achievements. Some of them are brutally hard.

And that's absolutely ridiculous. With twin 80+ mighty swords, I'm lucky to hit over 200DPS.

I have found a wonderful skill set, though. Frenzy with the fury boost rune, Rend, Ignore Pain, Dread Spear, Threatening Shout with Armor Boost, and the Rage Incarnate ultra make for a devastating tank.

Just got my copy yesterday and got started. Battle tag is aznmavboi#2374. Seems like I'm the only one playing as a monk here so far. Haven't really gotten that far in the game yet though. I've been fighting a cold and sleep is a little more important at the moment. Almost all good though so I'll probably be sloshing my way through the game this weekend.

Actually, my best mate plays a monk. Seems to work well with my Demon Hunter and Tessou's Barb.
