Hey guys, sorry if this is not the correct forum for this, but we're going to be having an IDv3 tournament July 12th at the Golden East Crossing Mall in Rocky Mount, NC

Preliminary Rule set:

Venue fee $10

Entry fee $5

All tournament matches will use STOCK cars.

There will be 4 rounds of time trials. (Players race individually)

Tracks will include: Akina, Irohazaka, Happogahara, and Tsuchisaka

Lowest times will be eliminated based on number of entrants. (i.e. 8 entrants = 1 per round 16 entrants = 4/3/3/2)

Track directions and conditions will be announced before the tournament.

You must keep the same car through all 4 rounds of time trials!

When 4 players remain, they will be placed into a double elimination bracket.

Top 4 rules:

Players will race head to head In a best 2 out of 3 match.

Higher seed chooses first track, then both players choose cars.

Opposing player will choose a track, players cannot change cars.

If a 3rd track is necessary, it will be chosen randomly. Players may change cars before the 3rd track.

For more info, check out the FB event page. This is primarily a DDR and Pump it Up tournament, but I decided to loan my ID3 machine to the event for Freeplay all day Friday & Sunday and a tournament on Saturday. The card readers DO work and I will have cards available for $2 each.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but I'm gonna say 99% of players of V3 do NOT play on steering 5. That shit is so heavy especially on a track like lets say... Happo or Tsuchi roller coasters.

Steering 5 is the "stock car" setting

You know it dude! The game is so old I'm surprised that this tournament wouldn't allow players not to use their own cards.

Steering 5 is a pain!

All good, I think regarding the cards.

Since the game is old, not a lot of players may join because they dont have cards. One level 25 former addict may be decided a winner without needing to race. At least with no cards, anybody can join in (which is what they want anyway).

Sucks about the steering, though. I do remember how heavy it was. I think I set it to around 2 way back in the day.

Yeah, I definitely understand about the steering. The only problem is that I'd say well over 75% of the people who would be entering this tournament don't have V3 cards.

There really is no arcade or local scene for it in the area. The tournament is being held on my own personal machine that I'm having transported to the venue.

I'll check the operator menu to see if there is a default steering stiffness setting that can be changed in there. I've never thought to look for it because I just change it on my player card.
