QUOTE (Nicholas86 @ 19 minutes, 28 seconds ago)
Mild is the setting in yellow colour. This is actually a good setting for slippery condition.Works wonders in the snow.

Grip?Rensuke you mean the green one right? That's actually called "Stability",from what I heard,is the probably the worst one.

Balance is the setting in blue colour.Rensuke did enough explaination on this.

Peaky is the setting in red colour.

Oh so it's something like this right?
1)Stability(Green)
2)Mild(Yellow)
3)Balance(Blue)
4)Peaky(Red)

I never thought mild is actually needed to run a good time in Akina Snow pinch2.gif
No wonder there's one guy who challenged me in Akina Snow won, it's because of this setting blink.gif

Its risky to use mild in normal battles though. since you'll be at a big disadvantage if you fight anywhere else. Though it shouldn't be risky if you KNOW you're going to play Akina Snow, such as if you are running TA or playing an Akina Snow event.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that stability is more driftier than mild. Is that true, or is it the opposite?

Professionals stick to balance in online battles even when they are running akina snow, those who play time attack at akina snow seriously will mostly choose the mild setting for easily slide cars such as ae86s but since course cars are Subaru GC8 and Skyline BNR32, these 2 cars don't need any change of settings, those 2 cars are good on balance when running akina snow...as for battles, people would just stick to balance and if akina snow comes up, they would probably play boost style or balance setting T.A style...

Well i think the settings goes like this if i'm not wrong,
From Slidy to Grippy : Peaky>Balance>Mild>Stability

A long time ago when I was just starting out, I recall trying out Stability and actually liking it for Nagao DH. That was then though, since I didnt know how to drift the corners that well and Nagao can be a bit sharp sometimes.

Lol i did make theories of players using other settings on different courses to balance the car handling before such as happogahara where it needs more grip and irohazaka where it needs more drift but some of those theories aren't correct when i realize that most of the time attack ranks are done with the balance settings...but if so, why would there be 4 types of settings to begin with...

Because the settings are set to the "extremes" possible to the point that either they are only useful in select situations or they are totally useless.

Take Mild for example, you will only see it have any use on Snow because it's crazy stable and barely drifts. Take it outside of Snow and suddenly you find yourself driving a car that's barely usable because of the lack of driftability.

It is kinda of sad how these settings are useless like 85% of the though. I think they might work better in simulation racing type games (even then, probably not these settings per say), but not in ID6 because of the emphasis on drift and the lack of penalties and risks for initiating drifts (like say, spinning out) means that they would not be much reason to use them.

Peaky seems quite useful for some cars on Myogi since it has huge turns all around lol but of course not for the course cars MR2 and MR-S. Those 2 are perfectly slidy...

Haven't tried the other settings on wet terrain before, wonder what would happen...
