But I am pretty disappointed with a couple things: 1) They imrpoved it a TINY bit, but I'd like it if they would focus less of the races and go into Itsuki/Iketani & etc's lives more at the gas station. It starts to get boring and repetitive just showing races on and on. But at least it's not the other way around, with too much side-story and no races, right? 2) Like 4th stage, they hardly give time to give a little back story of the opponent into the race. 3) During races, they talk too much and don't show enough of the racing scenes. Especially when eurobeat is playing. I'm a huge eurobeat fan, but it really sucks when they dont just give a good 30 seconds of racing scenes with the eurobeat playing in the background without too much talking. ^^^ All of these reasons are why I don't favor 4th stage and 5th stage very much. But all in all, 5th stage is awesome and I still love Initial D |

Its kinda feels like they think most people watching this probably read the manga anyway so lets just get to the races.. I guess they won't need battle stages for the fifth stage because its its very own battle stage..lol |

No longer is it focussed on the lives of the people we've grown to like in first stage. First and second stage where more drama based showed conflict between each character in aspects of love and personal growth outside of the racing world. Third stage was the icing on such storyline when Takumi decided to be a pro racer. I'm a strong advocate of the idea that the anime should have ended on episode 6 of fourth stage. When he defeated that pro driver with his headlights off. Although, watching him race his father was exciting. That and him finding a new gf is also what makes Takumis story interesting. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. |

You cant have a year on namek like DBZ did in the anime, it must be done in a couple weeks max as they lose interest. I do believe that stage 5 is not as good as its predecessors story wise but it is certainly more fast paced racing action which is what initial D is in the 1st place. |

It is fact that since the beggining of Kanagawa arc, it is all about battles with the exception of gas station talking scenes and golf scenes. Plus Shinigami race that also breaks the monotonous line. Hopefully we will get some jucy non-racing story after the final race. |

You think you might be missing out on a lot, but you're not. The anime has only removed a few scenes here and there. The Kanagawa arc is disappointing in the manga as well. Initial D has become too "realistic." Aside from the lack of side story stuff. The races are dull with boring outcomes. The only somewhat exciting races in this whole arc are the

They've really cut on a lot of things, specially technical things. And no, cars don't teleport, have "wings" or auras. | ||

The fun factor and awesome moments seemed to disappear with the passing of Third Stage. Now, it's a series of boring races, vapid characters and hollow dialogue. The problem is that none of the opponents are interesting anymore. The older Stages tended to allow a few episodes of build up for the rivals, to give them worth and make the battle meaningful. This "monster of the week" format just throws it in with the rest of the generic shonen anime that stay past their welcome. It's sad, really. The spark just seems to no longer exist. |
