The only reason why I don't like MT because of the fact that you can't win with a stock car unlike in IDAS. I wish that MT had a feature that if you're a guest and someone challenges you, you get to have the same HP as the challenger. Fair right?

If it did, there'd be no point in newbies buying a card.

Back to why ID is great...

ID uses all mountain roads where it is more about car and driver, rather than pure speed on the highway. {why do you think MT included Hakone?}

Tuning and ranks are better in D because anyone can win with any car and with the right skill. To me, it's a turn off that top whatevers in MT are rank SSS or 1000+ battle wins, etc... where there is a huge variety in D's top times, ranks, and cars. It makes me feel insignificant with a C1 rank and 800 hp max (which is also why I quit MT).

btw, 800+ hp? Isn't that an F1 car?

Yeah i agree, that's the whole point of IDAS5

Or maybe the higher HP car goes down as the same level as the guest? Fair play? Or no?

And apparently, there's a black market of FT'ed cars in MT. I asked around, they said it cost around 200 to 300 pesos. Equivalent to 10 or so plays on a machine. Well, not that I'm advertising, I'm just saying. unsure.gif

Discards, wee!

Even if an FT MT player brought his power blocks all the way down, we're still looking at a 300 something gap in power between it and a stock car. Take into consideration also, those power blocks become handling blocks.

Then again, that's why I like ID. i can sit around looking for all the world like an innocent happy go lucky otaku fascinated by the game, watch someone play with a card, and then jump him.
There's a certain satisfaction i get from winning with a stock vehicle.

Yknow. Whenever someone's actually on the machine.

Yeah. And I therefore conclude that..

if you have the need for speed.. play MT.

if you have the need for 'real' racing, play ID.

am i right? or am i right? laugh.gif

NO WRONG if u want real racing u play BG4 not ID, cuz BG4 is base on real physics & there cab looks like a real race car cockpit

plus if u never played MT u would not understand the game just like ppl that have never played ID, cuz MT is very arcade styled game while ID isn't as much as well as the fact that sega never really plan to release there games world wide makes it less friendly in a way

& black market stuff don't suck & MT cards are not always on the black market, ppl selling FT MT cards cuz it's a cheaper for other players that want to play since not everyone wants to tune a car from scratch (it's a $100 just to tune the engine without losing)

i don't like IDs tunning system where u have to play at least 2 games to get a upgrades unlocked but i do like way u get to mix & match body kits & how u get to see your parts before hand even when u haven unlocked them yet, MT doesn't run this way

plus MT is not all straight roads but the graphics is not as good as ID in lots of ways (not all but most in my opinion)

Actually, not even. I don't think BG4 is quite on the spot, especially when it comes to the speeds you navigate hairpins on. I sure as hell don't have to pop it into first and start braking early hoping I make the apex in real life.

Both are arcade racers. Neither one is close to being spot on in terms of control and acceleration of the cars. They are both however, enjoyable in their own right if the player swings that way.

Well, black market stuff sucks coming from a person who tuned his car from scratch and made a whole bunch of stars. Just my 2 cents after all.

D5's tuning system is quicker than the older versions. It's one play per upgrade.

For the fact that I have cards on both MT and ID, I can say that MT is for speed freaks while ID is for the street racing feel.

BUT NOTHING BEATS DAYTONA! HAHAHA! laugh.gif

For overall best multiplayer arcade racing, it's Daytona USA (a.k.a. Sega Racing Classic)

For customized racing, it's Initial D, no matter what version. 2nd might be MT, if you can look past the ranking system and black market. 3rd may be NFS Underground or NFS Carbon arcade.

For true realism, play Gran Turismo, because you'll never get a real driving and racing simulated experience from an arcade or video game. GT is the only game that gets it close enough.

Y'know, I don't think Bandai Namco ever thought there'd be a business through discarded cards and never thought someone would profit from it. Maybe in MT4 they'd use un-discardable cards like ID5.

well anyways, every racing game in the arcade have their own pros and cons, isn't it? and i'm here wondering why i got into initial d the first place. i used to play need for speed carbon and most wanted all those highway racing games, maybe sega inserted a thing called magic into initial d. wink2.gif

i some realize that theres not point in getting a card if u can beat your opponents with a stock car (1 credit to play & 6 more for a card in my area for D5) since the engine tuning part would be useless if u get beaten by a stock car

anyways just sick of ID a-holes that keep saying MT is loser that just want speed when they have clearly never played mt once in there life or more then 5mins, while at the same time im stick MT fags that say either ID is too easy/boring/noobie or just to darn hard when they don't know much about ID

even thought 6 is coming out im still sticking with D3 even though we have 5 in our area but after i lost my card i gotten lazy to tune my new car

little off topic here: anyone here wanna trade there ID5 card for some mt renames, your card must have at least 1 FT card & the card can not me linked online (as we don't have that in canada) & jp ver. cards (sorry about the off topic)

well, if you get a card you can fully tuned its cosmetics and performance, you will be more than satisfied driving and breaking records in your favourite car ... MT and ID have their own pros and cons.
