James May: All right, after that stint at the previous challenge where Jeremy seemed to have vanished, most probably kidnapped by the KGB, it is time for another challenge.
----------------------------

James May : Outlaw-2
Richard Hammond:VTiRoj
Jeremy Clarkson:
The Stig: Xcert
Star In A Reasonably Priced Car:
Tiff Needel:

--------------------------

Here's the 1st challenge....

Due to recent fund raising by BBC, we were provided with a tremendous amount of surplus, hence enableing this challenge. Each of you will receive 100'000 pounds. However, here are the criterias to get a car...

- The car must not be classified as a sports car or hyper car ( Example: BMW M3, Chevrolet Corvette, etc. The Camaro is labelled as a muscle car)
- You are not allowed to purchase a Japanese car, even the ones that are of a division of the company. (eg: Lexus, Scion, etc.)
- The car should have less than 400hp stock (Before oil change)
- The cars you get, whether used or new, will receive a free oil change
- The car should weigh 1300kg or more. Any car weighing less than that will require ballast and a ballast penalty of 30kg

You are then headed to Seattle Circuit (Reverse), Family Cup, difficulty 5. State your overall time.

----------------------------

James May: BBC is getting over their heads with that surplus... ohmy.gif PLease let me get enough money for an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. I'd like to get the old model. crying2.gif

What would Lexus be classed as? In GT4 they are American, but really they are just a luxury version of Toyota, which is Japanese. confused.gif

I think I've spotted my car, its under 400bhp, weighs multiple Fat Mans more than 1300kg, but the question above will decide if I use it or not. whistling.gif

Well, so long they are related to a Japanese company, then it would be outlawed. This time round, the challenge would not be seeing any Japanese, or a division of a Japanese company.

Why that there is Japan's finest sports car from the 80s, the Dome Zero.

Sort of a precursor to really ugly cars that go really fast.

Muscle car eh?

Any limit to power after modifications?

I'll be playing The Stig!

Having been limited greatly by the ban against Sports Cars, The Stig had to use his resources. Using his telepathy, he communicated with hiss fat, American cousin and found the perfect vehicle for the challenge…

A Camaro SS ’00, brand new from the showroom floor, in Arctic White for 22,150! The brochure stated that the Camaro SS put down 319hp and 258 ft-lbs of torque. Much to his surprise it was putting down 326BHP and 351 ft-lbs of torque. With a great base before changing the oil, he drove it over to GT Auto and changed the oil. After the oil change there was a good amount of performance gain. The Camaro SS is now putting 343 BHP and 368 Ft-lbs of torque!

Seattle Results:

Starting Grid:

1 / Lotus Carlton ‘90
2 / Plymouth Super Bird ‘70
3 / Jaguar XKR R-Performance ‘02
4 / Lotus Esprit V8 SE ‘98
5 / Shelby Series 1 Supercharged ‘03
6 / Chevrolet Camaro SS ‘00

Lap 1: 1’58.576
Lap 2: 1’53.312
Total time: 3’51.888

Finishing Order:

1 / Chevrolet Camaro SS '00 - 3'51.888
2 / Lotus Carlton ’90 – 3’56.469
3 / Plymouth Super Bird ’70 – 3’58.012
4 / Shelby Series 1 Supercharged ’03 – 3’58.775
5 / Jaguar XKR R-Performance ’02 3’59.316
6 / Lotus Esprit V8 SE ’98 – 4’00.046

Looks like refined European class wasn’t enough to hold back the American Muscle, but then again amateurs against The Stig isn’t actually fair either…

Edit: Was for addition of event in post!

Things are looking a little bleak right now, so we're off to the next challenge with Jeremy's absence...

---------------------------

2nd Challenge

For the next challenge, you are to drive your vehicles in the narrow streets of Citta D'Aria (Reverse), Normal Difficulty, and race with a local. State the gap you have instead of the overall time.

However, that is not over yet. After that, you will be provided dirt tyres, where you will be sent into a race with yet another local, but in neighbouring country, Switzerland. Enter the Swiss Alps rally race (Reverse), Easy difficulty. State, once again, your time gap.

Yet again, the challenge is not over. Equipping back with S2 tyres, scramble into Trail Mountain (Normal), Practice Lap. You are given only 5 laps, of which one of the laps will hold your best time. Post that best time.

Good luck, as your third challenge will be upgrading the cars.

-------------------------------------

James May: They said it! They hinted the 3rd challenge!

Citta di Aria in my big F-150? ermm2.gif Poor local whistling.gif

Rally? Pah! This is a pickup, offroading is like taking a cruise to the shops. cool.gif

And a Trial Mountain time attack? Heh heh heh. shifty2.gif

You guys will see just how good my F-150 is! w00t2.gif

----

Citta results!

At Citta di Aria I was met by the "local". Seems like after the episode with my Lancer, they upped their machinery to compete with the Top Gear Elite. So my opponent was none other than a Mitsubishi Starion 4WD Rally Car '84!

This 3 lap battle was sure to be intense, my pickup truck had no advantages here.

From start to finish I was completely destroyed. My only hope of earning some points was to make some fast laps, so I did, or tried to.

Lap 1: 1'51.238
Lap 2: 1'48.194
Lap 3: 1'50.088

This wasn't enough really, as the Starion had such a huge head, the crowd was gone by the time I arrived.

Starion total time: 5'06.415
F-150 total time: 5'29.520

It seemed like Citta has won this round. sad.gif

---

Swiss Cheese results!

I'm up against a Ford Focus RS. Oh please. dry.gif

Oh well, a challenge is a challenge. After laughing at the little Focus nearly getting stuck ON THE LINE. I focused my attention to my new tyres. My F-150 looks so awesome on dirt!

2 laps of laughing at a little Focus struggling to get any traction. Here goes. whistling.gif

Lap 1: 1'56.569
Lap 2: 1'43.618

F-150 total time: 3'40.187
Focus total time: +03.793

Haha! I won! w00t2.gif

---

Trial Mountain results!

Best lap: 1'41.936 (lap: 5)

Lets hope I was fast enough. I could hear the suspension screaming in pain as I threw the F-150 through every corner at 100mph. pinch2.gif

Citta de Aria (Revese) Difficulty Normal: against the technocraft which is the Evo VI RS T.M.E. It was a fierce battle from start to finish, with the Evo instantly getting the start thanks to closer gearing, but the stock Camaro was left in the special edition Evo’s wake in the more technical corners, not truly allowing the Chevy to power through. By the 2nd lap, the Camaro was on the bumper of the VI and by putting a nose on the inside of it, was able to slip past leading onto the 3rd lap. The Stig placed 1st against the Evo and with a gap of not even a second, had the car not been a Chevy [Read: POS] it would have been a greater gap…

Winning by: 0’00.483 against Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RS T.M.E.
With the management sending the Top Gear crew to Sweden to compete not on the tarmac but on the GRAVEL, The Stig was confident that he could swing the Camaro around the track faster than a second grade driver in a Frog car. And that he did, by the time it was over, the driver had thrown up the white flag. Although no Nazis were involved, the French driver was taken prisoner. His name was something de Gaulle.

Winning by: +11.687 against Renault 5 Turbo ‘80

With the part of challenge 2 almost nearing a conclusion, the Top Gear team was dropped off in an undisclosed location. No really, no one knows where the hell this track is. The Stig in the Camaro SS pulled out of pit lane like a bat out of hell, and quickly did a flying lap the standard tires almost barely keeping the traction from the massive V8 underneath the bonnet. Understeer was popping up like a red headed step-child, and so the tamed driver had to pull something out of his hat to help rotate the car… He did what logic goes against, dipping the rear tires into the dirt! With the rear tires loose, the car oversteered at an excessive speed and catapulted The Stig into a unbelievable fast lap time.

Trial Mountain, Normal: 1’39.311 lap 4!

(Driver’s note: I really hate Citta de Aria but it was the best I could muster for the challenge.)

Not really, I'm just extremely pre-occupied by my Polytechnic School work, which is ripping my brains out everytime I get an assignment. This is the total things I have to learn... in a year, every page, every example, every question... Ah the transition from a kid to an adult... isn't easy...

Thanks, I will really need that. Here's what I have to go through for my first out of three years in the polytechnic...

- Computer Aided Drafting
- IDEAS module (A cross of entrepeneurship and engineering)
- Mathematics (3 volumes and one study guide)
- Fundamental Mathematics
- Introduction to Engineering
- Mechanics
- Mechanics Practical
- Oral Communication Skills
- CDIO (A collab with IDEAS and Intro to Engineering)

And the last one is a possibility...

- To do lathing and milling in order to build a chassis of an F1 car. However, it is not sure whether it would be a life-sized one or a remote controlled version

It doesn't need closing. Outlaw-2 has said that he has school work to do thats taking up a lot of his spare time. He'll get back to the challenge soon I'm sure.

Maybe if you played GT4 instead of Drift City for an hour so the challenge can be posted, Outlaw. tongue.gif
