Hahaha... random fixes. I think I did that with my driver's window regulator. Thought the motor was broken, but in the end it was corrosion on the switch connector and the switch somehow did not even reach the connector itself. There was a little plastic piece that was part of the switch itself which I decided to shave off and now it reaches.

Upgrades huh? I'll look forward to your build too! If anything, I could always do a pitstop to your place when I move out of San Diego. You are on the way to Washington anyways lol.

Hey there, just a heads up. Going to be a big meet over at Fry's Electronics here in San Diego. My truck would be there. I'll be a guy with a moustache and wearing a white MOD13 Mitsubishi shirt or a black water polo hoodie with yellow letters on it. But if any of you guys are in SD and have nothing to do that evening, come and look at pretty cars. Sorry about it being short notice. Anyways, expect pictures in the car threads. Hopefully it is not too dark to take pictures when I take them.

Not a whole lot to update with... 3000gt is still in the shop. Guy got to mine late due to other projects but mine is getting worked on this week. He said he would give me a call this week if anything new arises.

The Daihatsu is still running like a champ. A friend even took a night drive video of me driving on the Coronado bridge here in San Diego. When I get that, I'll post it on youtube. Pretty funny to see it driving in a lane that it could probably lane share with a motorcycle lol.

So, since I have been waiting, and being without my 3000, I have been thinking. It is maybe time for a new image for it. I know, it is my car, and I can do what I want. But I want to share this with you guys. Imaging it dipped in dark forest green, with a black top that goes down to the end of the window trims. The front stash would be black, along with the black trim around the rear license plate. Not sure whether to do it matte or go pearl. I might end up keeping the wheels black.

I'm torn between keeping it or starting fresh too. Still debating it. I know I'll end up changing the color once I leave Cali for Washington for my next command. Seeing sites for lots of classic cars and not enough imports. So I don't want to find myself explaining what the Kanji on the side of my car means every time I go to a carmeet.

The mechanic started about a week behind schedule due to finishing up other projects. He told me sometime next week is when he plans to finish it. We'll see how that goes.

The only thing he is worried about is how to fit the master slave cylinder in next to the brake booster. I already sought help from other 3000 owners and will be showing the mechanic pictures. Hopefully they help out.

Hehe, it is still in the shop. Good thing is we both are staying on the same page of what is happening.

The new update is we learned the transmission is a turbo model. So... the clutch cover and disk are both the wrong sizes. So we are getting the right sizes for it. Once the tranny is in, he also has to drill new holes on the transaxle bracket... because since it is a turbo model, lo and behold, the holes don't line up. Tranny has 3 points, and the bracket only two.

Hmm... possibly. If it looked like it was going faster than 20mph, had a higher rev, and with a big 4X4 on the side, it was me tongue.gif. I work near the hangers near the control tower. When was that at? I was over on the dry side of the base a few times this and last week because of working out.

Yay! My truck made a video! They missed it when it had a ruckus bike on the back though, but oh well. It was during last weekend I think and was for the SoCal fire victims. It was a very good turnout.

A few days later, I got bored and lowered my truck using photoshop.

Aww damn more problems eh? Well hopefully they get that sorted out so I can go and see that thing at a meet again. happy.gif

Hmmmmm, it was last weekend at the beach next to the Navy Lodge in North Island but I just looked at your pictures again, so never mind I don't think that's the case anymore. It had a different color scheme but it was a Hi-Jet though!

Once again, I couldn't make it to that meet and it was even walking distance from my house! lmao. facepalm.gif

Yea, but they are easy fixes. I might pay his shop a visit this Friday and see how things are going. Haven't got any bad calls from him since I last talked with him, so all should be good. Yea, you are not the only one. The carmeat people miss seeing the panda 3000 at their meets. Plus... I am dying to be able to drive at a slightly faster speed.

Navy Lodge? Wow, that is a new location. If it was a dirty white jumbo-cab Hijet, then you saw a government truck. If it was any other color, you stumbled upon another rare socal owner. Have yet to see another personally owned Hijet that was street legal. I have seen a street legal Suzuki Carry and have met the owner of it though.

Maybe another time then...

Still have been having problems with the swap. Me moving out of San Diego is looming near. Someone might be interested in buying my 3000gt... and there is a possible chance I might be getting a new car with lesser problems. I'll just leave it at that and leave you guys guessing.

Well. I did it. The panda has a new owner. And I have a new car. Only thing I got to do is get some new battery connections and get it registered on Monday. I'll make a new page for it and give more on it. Pretty much, everything on the engine I did to mine has already been done to this. Only thing is suspension, which I know I can do myself.

Prepping for the sale. I was going to get all the plasti-dip off, but I was not able to due to other things. It is stickerless though.

I just have one thing to say. The MGB was way easier to drive than this.

Waaa! At first I was like really?. But then i was like oooo ahhh as soon I saw that VR-4 badge. Haha

I'd say you made a great choice I think. Although I did wish I could've gotten a picture of the panda 3k with my multicolored fc haha.

About the navy lodge thing, yeah you're right its just some random clubman kart. *facepalm* lol

Yea, I wish I was able to go farther with the panda too. But with its tranny issues and me wanting to go stick (and the swap idea not working) this was the next choice since I want to stay with this class. The AWD will work out in the long run though, as I would be up in WA state by the end of the year.

Lol, those trucks can get mistaken for those... I sometimes see smaller work truck things and go "look a cousin!"

I won't be changing a whole lot with this guy, but down the road, eventually the red will go. I am still not sure yet. I do still have another Tofu shop decal though lol.

Damn hopefully one of these IDW members can get at least a track day going at Adams Motorsport Park or something before you leave.

I know right! I felt like a dumbass when I stared at the driver of those karts thinking it was you lmao.

They did once and stuff happened that prevented it. No worries, at least I am on the same side of the US. If I am not on deployment next year, if anything happens, I would always be able to take a trip down and visit if my leave days permit me to. Since I would be closer to family when up there, I don't have to save up a lot to visit them and have those big once a year vacation trips. Could actually use my days to do other things.

I might... but since it is a new car, I might take it another route.
