Wut? You're better off slamming into the seat than slamming into your belts. It's been proven that you can take a much larger impact going backwards.

Unless the seat collapses... which is really common

Well, I'm fucking pissed.

The car is in my driveway.

I should explain though, I did buy it back. I have a buyer lined up who will part the car and supply me with the parts I desire to keep. They are 40 miles away. I was to receive a phone call from the salvage pool to discuss towing options and what the extra charge would be to take it there. I received no phone call, only the surprise of driving down my street after work and seeing the car sitting there. And then the gouges in the driveway from them dragging the car off the flatbed. Wonderful. Fuck those guys, they better move the car for no charge AND pay for the driveway.

Yeah, picked up another one last Monday, an '06 IX. I posted in the "What Car Do You Own" thread, but it'll get its own thread in time... It'll be officially in winter storage once I get time to thoroughly clean it up to throw the cover on it.

I haven't posted this pic yet, but it's a shitty cell pic.

Yeah, they moved the car to the shop free of charge. I don't actually care about the driveway that much but the fact that it happened is what pissed me off. I'll see it tomorrow when I go to pick up the check from them.

So how would you compare the feel of the MIVEC engine to the older engine?

The car is bone stock with coilovers and a test pipe. It feels good, definitely pulls differently than the non-MIVEC motor, the delivery feels relatively the same but there's more up top and it doesn't, at least at the stock 20psi, taper off.

I'll probably make a thread for this car in the next couple days here to start discussing plans and things. smile.gif

It's not like VTEC where it "kicks in." It's table based and is always active, it adjusts the cam profile constantly throughout the rev range.

While that's true, most people notice the difference (when comparing stock VIIIs and IXs) from 2500 rpm to 3500 rpm (when the turbo is more or less at full boost), though after that, it's not too differently. I think people have said that the cams are a little bit louder due to MIVEC.

One last bump...

If anyone wants parts, here's the part-out thread: http://forums.evolutionm.net/sale-part-out...ngine-more.html

I was at MAPerformance yesterday and they got two calls on parts while I was just standing around so if you want something do it up quick.
