@kradin No, it's more hinted at September as there is a rumor that Avex is looking to go back to the release pattern (i.e. xx0 in August then xx1 is followed at the end of the month of September).

Maybe the SEB221 will come with the 5th stage of Initial D?

Nah, I say they aren't dependant of each others...

I would agree they are not dependent of each other, especially since SEB lived on these past 6 years without Initial D.
However, I would not be surprised at all if avex knew Initial D was coming back and postponed the struggling SEB 221 to release a couple months prior in order to gain interest, hype and momentum. I would not be surprised if a track from SEB 221 shows up in the first episodes, which will add more buyers going out to grab SEB 221 after the first wave of the fanbase already purchased upon release.
Seems like a smart decision imo. I'm hoping for a resurgence in SEB popularity and looking forward to a a stretch of excellent Super Eurobeat to come.

If seems that SEB 221 is not going to be released before this October... Japanese online CD shops have some information of Avex Trax CDs released before 10 October, and that doesn't include SEB 221.

Some rumour has been told that SEB 221 might not even make it until January 2013. Horrible idea making fans wait like 16 months for new material if it is true...

Now to totally piss people off here...according to Tiger of EB-P forums, there was a formal announcement made that SEB 221 will not be released until January 2013.

Great, we get to wait 15+ months from 219 to get any new damn material...

This is worse than the wait between SEB 199 and 200. We only had some touhou remixes and EBF Vol.1 in the mean time...

The problem here is that most people were accustomed to getting a release every month or so. Now that we've waited over a year, it seems people "just can't get into Eurobeat anymore because it has been too long since the last new material release" (which here is SEB 218 or Eurobeat Forever Vol.1 released in December 2011 if you want to count indie releases). If you like a genre, you will still listen to it even if the "main series" haven't had any releases in a while. It's like a normal band : they won't release a new album every month. They will probably release an album every year and even less than that (1 album every 2, 3 or more years). Now, if labels weren't tied up like prisoners to Avex, we could have seen more digital releases and not be dependant from releases from Avex.

Anyway, I'm dragging on.

It's such a striking contrast in wait time. You get used to the usual release schedule and this is... well... something else. My interest in Eurobeat has really faded and I no longer wait anxiously for the next installment.

Wake me up when it's released though.

I'm not gonna say eurobeat is dead, but... jeez...

Hopefully with the latest Initial D stage coming out this upcoming week, maybe that will give a possible kick towards pushing the release of this upcoming volume. It sucks that I haven't heard anything about it though.

It's due for January 2013. Hang on tight.

Having Jan. 23, 2013 as a date is awesome though. I'll pre-order this one

That's a first in SEB history, too. The only SEBs ever to have more than one disc on them are non-stop mixes, or volumes with a bonus disc of remixes/compilations of older content. This will be the first-ever SEB double-album.
