Hi all

When i will come back from my hollidays in France, In August, I will have approx 5000$ to spent for a car I will use 2 years at most.

I have 3 very different models in mind, but i can't really pick one out yet cool.gif

SO can you please tell me which one you would choose if YOU were ME, and why would you choose this one, rather than another...

THe 3 cars I have in mind are :

- 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse

- 94 or 95 Honda Del Sol

- 94 Ford mustang convertible or convertible GT.

Ps: it is not sure yet but i really plan to spent 1000 to 1500 $ for 17' rims and lowering springs...

Any advices are welcommed if you know a really cool car for 5000, but i do love the 3 above...

thanks.

95 Mitsubishi Eclipse always liked them,
though I would pick the mustang if it wasn't a convertible...

well, i would pick the eclipse first, but the mustang would be a close second.

I would pick an eclipse over a V6 mustang tho, if u get a mustang I would go for V8

Mustang LX 5.0 hardtop.

Either that, or an Eclipse GSX, if you can find one.

If the '94 Mustang is a GT, get it...'94 was the last year they made the 5.0L pushrod V8 used in the last-gen Fox-Body 'Stangs, and the best engine IMHO Ford has made, aside from the Winsor 351 and 427...If it's not a GT, don't bother...

Close second would be the Eclipse, and the Del Sol for third. Especially if the Eclipse is a GSX...I'd only pick the Del Sol if I wanted the most money left over, since I usually find them cheaper than Eclipse's anyway...

Okay, here's the skinny. Mustang ONLY if it's a 5.0.
Eclipse ONLY if it's a GSX (even a TSI, it should be cheaper)
Del sol ONLY if it's an SI

I'd say del sol if your only gonna have it for a year or two. I'm gonna get one this summer myself happy.gif

Thank you very much for your answers...

Actually, yes, I saw one month ago a red Eclipse "RS" for 4900 $.

In january I almost bought a '94 del sol SI for 4200 (but i don't remember the mileage, but it was quite heavy IIRC )

And finally I often see Mustangs even convertibles or GT between 4000 and 6000 $ ...

Is an eclipse RS so bad compared to a GSX or TSI ? the problem is that RS are common whereas GSX and TSI are not... (Which one is AWD ?)

and what is an FD ? an RX-7 ? can i found a used one for about 5000 $ ? blink.gif

If your gonna go with one of the 3 go with the stang... (as much as it pains me to say that) 94 with the 302 and 5 speed. Then you have RWD to play with, plenty of power on tap, and ease of matinence. And as Far as the above goes. Look at the car carefully. The LXC is usually a better deal, same suspension and engine/gears without all the weight the GT body crap adds. The racer goes LX the imposters go GT.
