I used my mom's camera because the photos are from a blu-ray, and I don't have a blu-ray reader on my PC |

Third Stage was pretty dark in terms of color palette, so having the BD version notably update the lighting is interesting. |

Agreed, not to mention it's 16:9 for the first time ever. I wonder if they actually had a film master to work with. Very interesting. Too bad OP has no bluray drive on his PC. |

I thought this was already known. Third Stage was the one true HD remaster among Avex's Initial D BDs. There are even clips floating around of the Battle Stage rerelease that show the remastered Third Stage footage in all their glory. As for the perceived color-grading differences between the BD and the DVD, I'd just chalk that up to taking a camera pic of a TV screen in a dark room and not adjusting the exposure. |

Extra Stage had been improved But 4th stage was just upscaled... You'll have to wait for screenshots, after I've done dozens of photos, my card got corrupted... |

Can you confirm that Third Stage has color correction/brightness differences over the DVD, or was it just your camera and/or TV settings? |
