Hey everyone,

I'm coming to the Initial D scene very late after a long time away from anime in general. Guess my 2014 involved really becoming interested in and appreciating car culture that's not my own (vintage VWs) and discovering Initial D was a logical extension of that.

So, hey there everyone!

I've caught up with everything save for Final Stage and the newest one...Legend 1? First on Netflix (before they dropped it) and then all over YouTube. smile.gif

I've enjoyed playing Real Drift and Tofu Run on my mobile, but recently got a Sega arcade emulator running on my laptop and have been trying my hands at the first three export versions of the Initial D arcade game.

And now I'm here and checking things out. biggrin.gif

Glad to have you here! Welcome! Let us know how the playing Arcade Stage on the laptop thing goes! I've been meaning to try it, but real arcade machines are expensive. I'd rather be cheap and play in the comfort of my own home. laugh.gif

East Bay, as well. Livermore here. Work down in San Jose. Use Calaveras Road as an escape home during the Friday commute. biggrin.gif

This.

Funny story, I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist in Raleigh and happened upon an old Type 3. Almost grabbed a truck and trailer and went to go get it. It's gone now though, probably sold in a few days.

Welcome, btw!

Hey, glad to have you.

I'm that one kid who insists he'll get a turbo FC and rebuild it himself and yet has no income. One day...

Thanks, everyone!

Nice to see some appreciation for the early VW love, too! If you want one, get it now. Seems like the prices are only going up.

And trust me, as much time, effort, and money that goes into my bus, I've really discovered a love for 60s-80s JDM. It's been tempting to switch projects, but I'm just going to keep hoping I win the lotto instead.

Here's a shot of my bus...

I keep looking at Mk1 Golfs/Rabbits, that's a car that's on my list of vehicles to own before I die.

For now though, I'll just have to be happy with a Mk5.

Ha! Love those Mk1s! Boxy and sporty all at the same time! biggrin.gif I'd love one as well, someday.

Well, just managed to finish Final Stage while my son was down for a nap (he's home sick today).

The Golf chassis in general over the years is a riot to drive, they handle so properly. Even my squishy MK5 can be predictably transitioned from under- to oversteer and back again with pedal work alone. I knew I liked the car after test driving it, I never guessed I'd fall in love with it...
