If one of the Takahashi brothers (like Keisuke Takahashi or Ryousuke Takahashi) was taking on Shingo Shouji of the Nightkids in a gum tape death match. Do you think Takahashi Brothers can win against him (Shingo Shouji)? & Why?

wasn't this asked already? huh.gif
and besides... ryosuke and keisuke knows the secret of the gum tape match already... remember when they were spectators in takumi's match... they said "he figured out the secret blah blah blah" or something...
so i figure the takahashis could beat shingo and smoke him from the start...

Uphill battle or downhill?

If it were uphill, Takeshi would probably win. He's got more than double Kenta's power and his GT-R has awd, which will help in a hillclimb. Kenta's skills and rain drifting(don't know if he did grip too) experience aren't good enough to make up for that kind of difference. Remember, he has a Silvia Q's, which is NA. I think he only has about 170hp or so.

Downhill, Kenta could have the advantage. He won't have to worry so much about needing power, and the lighter weight of his car adds tot he advantage of his rain drifting experience. Takeshi would run into the same problem Keisuke did at Akina: way too much power for the downhill. The problem is only compounded by the GT-R's extra weight and thus momentum, plus its tendency to understeer, even in the dry.

So for example, if Kenta Nakamura was taking on Shingo Shouji of the Nighkids in gum tape death match & Kenta Nakamura wanted to challenge him in a rain battle. Do you think he'll (Kenta Nakamura) win? & Why?

So this is a gumtape deathmatch...in the rain?

I don't really think either of them would do that.

If you're talking about two separate races, Kenta would probably win in the rain, and Shingo would probably win the gumtape deathmatch.
Shingo probably has little or no rain driving experience, to the advantage goes to Kenta.
Kenta probably isn't good enough to figure out the secret of the gumtape deathmatch, so the advantage goes to Shingo.

If it was rain and tape match, Shingo would win IMO, FF would be a lot more stable and safer

Digging up decade old threads like this is kinda against the rules (necroposting is a good way to clutter up forums), but welcome back/hello.

Why were the Night Kids shown as an important group and not side characters, like Thunder Fire?

I mean, they suck, only had like 3 races, and after that only really appear when Shingo and Takeshi argue on the sidelines.

I don't know why they had to make a hole new team instead of making more then 3 members of the Redsuns who race Takumi, (or at all).

They wouldn't have raced Takumi if they were part of the Red Suns, because they'd have been lower level guys. Sure, Kenta got to have a race, but only because he was really insistent on it and was close to Keisuke.
The Red Suns also wouldn't really allow someone with Shingo's tactics on their team either.

During the time of Stage 1, the Night Kids were not low level. During that time, even pre-Akina race Keisuke was considered to be a high level racer. He was the #2 on the Red Sun and Ryosuke thought his speed was enough to set records that would make the Red Suns name famous for years.

Yet Nakazato and clean racing Shingo would have left pre-Akina Keisuke in the dust.

Nakazato was complimented by Ryosuke ("when he's on, he's fast") and a serious Nakazato could keep up wiht 80% serious Ryosuke, so I think the Night Kids were at least average for a racing team.

Post-Akina Nakazato would've left pre-Akina Keisuke in the dust, but I think pre-Akina Nakazato VS pre-Akina Keisuke would've been a 50/50 thing. Until losing to Takumi, Nakazato's technique boiled down to simply steering around the corner and then going full throttle at the exit. It was only afterwards that his driving got more complex than that (only the manga showed this though).
