I just read a review on FS/N (http://phoenix512anime.blogspot.com/2006/09/fatestay-night-review.html) and you know I kinda at least thought his 3 out of 5 on the series to be just about right... |

I watched it a while back and found a site that has every episode for direct download, so you can download each episode in like..20 minutes or less. It's pretty awesome and rather convienent I'd say. They also have some other pretty good series on the site, so..please take a look http://www.muffindomain.com/index.php?page=anime.html |

What are your thoughts? FYI, the predecessor to the FS/N game, Tsukihime, has finally been translated into English, and guess what? The translators aren't forcing fans to break their support disc, take a photo of the fan with the broken disc, then run off a bunch of answers to some questions relating to the game, and including a nude pic of the fan to get the translation like some other groups have done recently... |

I'm finished it finally...yay. So far I'm surprised at the amount of animation quality used in this series. Yes I do know of the 3 different stories and aware about Hollow Antaraxia if it will ever be animated that is and hoping which I can't comment enough. It's not the most complex anime but has great character design in terms of like a bishonen/bishojo/magical girl type of design thrend that is. Not something I'd recommend to everyone apparently, but I know the types that would watch it. Yes I recommend it to myself and certain fans. After reading and comparing to watching it, I kinda expected more story about the Archer/Shiro connection which left some open ended answers that can only be seen in the game, and more about Rider (because Rider reminds me a lot about a certain character I was creating before in my own story series). Ending makes me sad besides I love it how anime series ends that way making me want more of the show but it's the end. If Hollow Antaraxia will be animated, I'm wondering how it will connect to the with the cannon ending of Fate Stay Night is. Lastly, anyway for me to see the games/novel BOZZ? What's the links and such so I can follow it up. I have to know everything about them cuz I'm kinda a collector of information and I can't get enough of them with lack of info. My rating actually, not something I'd show to certain friends, but something I'd show to true anime enthusiasts of all genres.

Tsukihime actually...FS/N if there is then also that. Yes it could have been done a lot better so it was better not to expect too much. Overall it's still enjoyable for my own part. This post has been edited by Chidoki on Nov 7 2006, 09:06 PM

Fate/Zero will be set ten years before the events depicted in Fate/stay night. Details about the game will be revealed publicly at Comic Market 71, scheduled for December 29-31. http://www.fate-zero.com/ Chidoki: Although I see no reason to have a series like this, well whatever I'm still there for it. Harharhar. |

But aside from what I wish, hope it's promising. |

whut? Group: Advanced Members Posts: 4,416 Member No.: 6,453 Joined: Apr 2nd 2005 Location: ¯\(º_o)/¯ | Bump! Just saw this and yea i know i'm slow. What are you gonna do? Smash me? Then revive me and smash me again another five times? Cuz that's what happened to Shirou and to be honest it was just getting ridiculous the number of times he must've died in the series, that and how useless he was (although he does manage to pull a whole bunch of crap outta his arse by the end of the series, namely that uber hax scabbard, which has gotta amount to something right? lol =P) Anywayz F/SN was okay, not too great and not too bad either, just decent, an above average show at best i reckon. It started off as sub-par and and only ever got slightly better =/ I dunno, perhaps i was just disappointed by setting my expectations that tad bit too high or whether it was because of the bland main character, i mean the guy's a total idiot and by the end he still remains useless idiot with little to no character development at all. Thank god, Saber developed a bit better at least, i mean you can actually see her transform going from 'a warrior first, and women second' to 'a women first and warrior second'. That scene when she confesses her feelings to Shirou at the end demonstrates exactly that imo. But ultimately, it's more the ending than characters that really defines an anime imo as it is the last impression that you ever get of a show. One of the reason why i was able to enjoy and appreciate F/SN anime a bit more was because of it's bittersweet ending imo. Sure it wasn't anything ground-breaking, and could be argued as fairly typical, but a sense of closure and impact was there at least. However what probably hurt the show most would be the lack of character insight imo. I mean half the time guys just show up and we don't even get a proper explanation of their motives or reasoning behind their actions. Good thing i did my HW and read up a bit afterwards though, but that's besides the point. But like what others have said before me, perhaps they tried to cram too many things in too late, and this is what we ended up with as a result. A 'rushed' Fate/Stay Night anime with numerous flaws scattered throughout. I'm pretty sure a lot of the game fans must've been disappointed considering that even i was disappointed, someone who hasn't even touched the game, yet can tell that the anime by far pales in comparison. The bittersweet ending however has me thinking that any Type Moon game adaptations will have a bittersweet end... >< |

Although it would've been nice of them to go into Archer's backstory at least, but given that they were mainly focusing on the 'Fate' storyline and not 'Unlimited Blades Work', it comes of as not much of a surprise i guess =/ |

They kind of hinted at his backstory, but if you weren't overly aware of the actual background story from the game you wouldn't really catch it.

whut? Group: Advanced Members Posts: 4,416 Member No.: 6,453 Joined: Apr 2nd 2005 Location: ¯\(º_o)/¯ | Yea that was one of the problems with the anime i reckon, they hinted just for the sake of hinting. I think just before caster died, there was some random flashback about her past and they just left it at that. Obviously it was suppose to be hinting at something but they never really did anything with it apart from "look, have a flashback kthxbye lulz" =/ But with Archers case i don't think they really planned to go into his back story at all, why else would they make him have an incomplete summoning and having him lose his memory =/ |

True, but wasn't Archer always an incomplete summoning in the games?
