|Anyone living in singapore who can play ID5 well? cause i just cant catch the right timing for turning. ID5's gets too drifty now|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 19 2009, 07:29 PM|
| you need to read the other ID5 thread (the one with 50+pages).. we are all speaking there...
ID4 more drifty than ID5 lo...
take the lessons from the ID Anime(especially Keisuke and his FD lessons) and apply... throttle control throttle control
full power in corners and you'll end up like Keisuke in Stage1 Episode1.. TailSlide!
so... no more full powering through corners.
more simulation... less Need For Speed
then again... it may be a good idea for us to speak here instead... we are seriously torturing other ppl who are still awaiting their ID5.
|Posted by: zero-g Mar 19 2009, 07:34 PM|
| what? stormfox, how dare u torturing us?
nvm, we will have D5 very soon
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 20 2009, 04:40 AM|
|okay ... so its best that i release throttle before a turn?|
|Posted by: khce2000 Mar 20 2009, 05:38 AM|
|i'm interested to buy a initial d 5 card. pls PM me. thanks.|
|Posted by: DarK_Mini Mar 20 2009, 06:02 PM|
|No one has IDAS5 cards yet read read well most places don't yet.|
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 20 2009, 06:04 PM|
|You're torturing me alright, Stormfox|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 20 2009, 06:38 PM|
I ain't said nothing! =P its the rest that are discussing about how to go faster...
i'm just slowly rolling to the finish line.
|Posted by: DarK_Mini Mar 20 2009, 06:43 PM|
|IDAS5 IDAS5 OH BABY the new assume system sexy seats is this doing anything for you ShinRei HAHA.|
|Posted by: ArEa51 Mar 21 2009, 01:49 AM|
| IDAS5 requires more braking. Try to learn the late-braking technique as shown in the anime. and also Keisuke's training in tsukuba regarding his throttle control.
Turning wise, try to turn as little as possible as turning too much will cause the car to lose too much speed.
|Posted by: devilz94 Mar 21 2009, 08:47 PM|
|can someone tell me how to paly happo and nagao|
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 22 2009, 06:35 AM|
you mean the late breaking will helps to turn the car too?
|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 22 2009, 07:08 AM|
|KC broke into 3'09 for iro dh today T_T|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 22 2009, 07:25 AM|
start with early braking first..
Brake... release... turn in... turn out... accel away
then slowly move the braking+release to overlap into the turn in
Step by step.. baby steps
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 22 2009, 07:35 AM|
| yea, late braking is a more advance technique.
i just FT my FD today, using late braking technique(still braking to initiate the first 1/2 cornering), i managed a 2.51.790 on akagi Uphill.
i am still experimenting it.
|Posted by: [* Y_n_R *] Mar 22 2009, 07:50 AM|

| @Bu`DoNg: you haven't ft ma. once ft i am sure you will be much faster den me.
@Rei.G: don't understand happo. that is the problem. play and play timing is there only. din really dare to touch inbound. those tight corner at the start is killing me.
@ultradd: you can e la. s2000 lei. hit a 3'02 make SG proud. heex
@shadow: so how your iro. and i bought a mx5 today. handling = POWER!!! but i cant rmb the speed limit for the 6th gear car and 5th gear. got mix up. akina i 153 go up gear 6 lol.zzz den akina can hit up to 158 den 6th gear sia. which mean after the last right bend and toward the straight line up gear awhile muz down gear liao. zzz.
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 22 2009, 08:26 AM|
| happo outbound timing is 1.8s slower than inbound for FD3S leh.

hmm...feel like starting a Integra.
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Mar 22 2009, 08:39 AM|
sooon...we can share pointers.....very sooooooooon... haha..
at ultradd :
jiayou jiayou.if ray can hit a '05 in a fd in tsukuba, i believe you can definitely hit a faster timing. one good way i can think of is to view the clip that the jap posted and try to see which area u can further improve on.
haha i hope so too! faster den u i cant cfm as your timing are pretty quick! i only hope that i can do the same once my car is ft.. maybe next wk or so ? haha

|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 22 2009, 11:17 AM|
| guys if you read this, sorry to be rude or what, but i think it's high time all singaporean players post here and stop bombarding the other id5 thread with our country's stuff unless it's about theories and lines and how to play the game etc.
thanks guys. =)
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 22 2009, 04:48 PM|
There was a time when trouble seemed too much for us to take but we did....
heeh... it sure is interesting to catch up with ppl after so long (v2, v3 till now? all died down in ID4)
back then most of us are students ah... NS men ah.... slackers ah... LOLx...
now what... all the different color collars (blue collars, white collar.. etc), people graduating looking for job... some even have kids!
all galloping towards Middle-aged Geezer stage...
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 22 2009, 06:03 PM|
what does the NS stands for?I'm curious
Man, I'm working here as well and I'm still New 16
I'm going towards Middle-Aged Geezer already?
|Posted by: Fuzz Mar 22 2009, 06:36 PM|
|does NS men = not sexy men?|
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 22 2009, 06:37 PM|
Really??! That would be so LOL if it is
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 22 2009, 06:46 PM|
| you guys think too far... but nice guess though =P
NS = National Service.... those ppl who get sent for a 2year military training in order to defend the country in future conflicts. Taiwan have something similar too
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 22 2009, 06:51 PM|
| Oh, I see..
Btw what Age are You Guys anyway?
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 22 2009, 06:53 PM|
26... full time work slave
you're shold be working part-time part-studying right?
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 22 2009, 07:10 PM|
Yep, but I work for My Dad, I help Him in the Office and Factory..
I'm 12-Hour Work Slave
Hey, just wondering, are there many 20+ ID Players there?Cos in Here, we also have skilled Geezer, or Mr, or other 20+ Aged Male playing ID, but not many
|Posted by: RS4 Mar 22 2009, 07:33 PM|
| i am 22 now.. getting old... missed the times when ID 3 came out though.... now not much freedom as what we have in the past... most of us are becoming working slaves to support ourselves... lol... 1 week work 5 to 6days for me...
sometime 1 week 1 off day nia... lack freedom and time to rest not to mention spend time with family and friends or even girlfriend...
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Mar 22 2009, 07:45 PM|
True that true that, even though I'm still 16, I understand that
|Posted by: S H I N I Mar 22 2009, 11:41 PM|
|Everyone's so fast...|
|Posted by: Soran Mar 22 2009, 11:44 PM|
|i feel old and slow....xD|
|Posted by: S H I N I Mar 22 2009, 11:52 PM|
| OFT a little, saw your elder Bro's S15 at the My Car Forum side. LOL. Chromas or something right, his usernick. His red S15 with that anime decalling all over it.
I think I must be doing something not applicable, shouldn't employ too much real driving style into the game.
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 23 2009, 10:03 AM|
lols. i understand your feeling. even though im just 17 this year, im kinda forced to work 5 or 6 days ... just to get more money for ID games the only diff is that i don have a girlfriend, so a little more freedom than you
|Posted by: dragonfly Mar 23 2009, 03:15 PM|
i even worse i work 7 days a week!
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 23 2009, 04:24 PM|
what work sia? 7 Days a week?
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 23 2009, 07:02 PM|
LOL. i think ur mad:haha: im alr dying from working 5 days every week
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 23 2009, 07:04 PM|
| wah 7 days/wk. you like your work?
could only think of NS regulars, F & B sector or finiancial advisor.
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 23 2009, 07:08 PM|
LOL. maybe he does like his work anw, who's free this sat morning? i wanna meet up and play with you all. can learn some things too
|Posted by: Soran Mar 23 2009, 09:25 PM|
Hahaha...honestly i dunno where his Chromas nickname came from. Looks like i won my bet with my mum (she was betting that his S15 would be wrecked by the end of 2008)....
Back to topic, i realised that the physics and braking points are quite similar to the Kaido series of games, just with a bit more sliding and no handbrake to assist in breaking traction....
|Posted by: S H I N I Mar 23 2009, 09:56 PM|
| I made a fool of myself when I unknowningly dived too fast into a corner, and then slammed on the brakes and my left hand instantly went to grab the spot where the BG4 handbrake would be.
Difference is, there was none.
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 23 2009, 10:21 PM|
darn... i wasn't there
hope you dont try something similar with your Swift
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 24 2009, 04:35 AM|
ur mind just went blank, thinking it was real driving on the road
|Posted by: ReiKiz Mar 24 2009, 06:09 AM|
Got money spend.
Nid u and jun teach me hw to play liao==!
I see u guyz play got stress.
|Posted by: S H I N I Mar 24 2009, 10:05 AM|

|hi ppl, has anybody renew their cards yet|
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Mar 25 2009, 08:11 AM|
| read somewhere tht u nid not renew cards. once it hit 10 coe left it will always be stuck there.
well.. hope someone prove that out..
|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 25 2009, 08:13 AM|
| already proven
it is confirmed that it will get stuck at 11 plays
today played with FLASH!'s car. his plays was 11 plays. then i eject and put in and eject and put it, still 11 plays
|Posted by: BDDEE@ Mar 25 2009, 08:24 AM|
| so if the machine is offline, wont go past 11 plays
that comes in handy i guess
|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 25 2009, 08:25 AM|
|no idea. but i don't see how that's useful in any way, except saving us cash from renewing. =/|
|Posted by: BDDEE@ Mar 25 2009, 08:30 AM|
| useful as in, say an arcade in the middle of no where gets idas5 ... spend big $$ getting it and cant afford it to put it online or the area the arcade is in has no internet access
then this will sort of keep people playing at the arcade without having to travel somewhere to renew or send cards oversea's to renew...handy in that way but eventually card get dirty =.=
|Posted by: ReiKiz Mar 25 2009, 09:01 AM|
were u at amk hub recently?
wats ur card ign?
|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 25 2009, 09:15 AM|

|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Mar 25 2009, 09:19 AM|

ok thanks, RS4. I don't want a turbo or supercharged 86.
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 26 2009, 08:20 AM|

|how does a 86 with turbo engine feels like|
|Posted by: RS4 Mar 26 2009, 12:54 PM|
| @ ray:
where got fast? lol.. only thing i need is to maintain... improvements can come later... i only left $$ to play for a few games le... must wait for next pay... not enough $$ liao... so for abt 10 days i cannot play... just watch ppl play... dam 11 days alot of time to improve can catch ups...
hope to have 3:07 by april...
lol... i also hope to see matches with higher standards, though i saw alot of matches going on around here but usually all new players. the only fast match i saw was lance with a small kid...
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 26 2009, 07:37 PM|
-.- of course not lah. i wan play with you ID5. no ppl's guiding me
|Posted by: spinnee Mar 26 2009, 08:02 PM|
| so, which arcade you ppl normally play in?
|Posted by: V5?! Mar 26 2009, 10:47 PM|
|If one day. sega announced that version exp is just to satisfy oversea players in short term until the full international version is released. All exp cards cant be transffered because there are no key numbers and so on .. what will you all react ? haha|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 26 2009, 10:51 PM|
it doesnt quite matter to me.. lol...
either way i am going to spend money playing...
the only difference is whether i need to retune a car or not...
its not like the money flow stop on FT...
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 27 2009, 06:12 AM|
i have been thinking about this too, but i will continue and start a new car anyway.
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 27 2009, 08:27 AM|
i usually play in douby ghaut atrium, singapore.
|Posted by: art84 Mar 28 2009, 07:17 AM|
| Dear People,
I heard most of the people rumouring that the ID5 machines are out of calibration resulting in low speed. If this is true which ID 5 machines are properly calibrated for TA in Singapore? How could you fix the calibration problems?
|Posted by: V5?! Mar 29 2009, 05:10 PM|
no such thing as calibrate for TA la .. if there is .. thats cheating .. they have a calibration manual coming with the version 5 software one la ..
|Posted by: Heron Mar 30 2009, 04:59 AM|
| Hello guys.
I love how the game works. Sure there's a lack of speed, lining is more important but isn't pretty and you cannot go into a drift...
But it is still fun to play...AE86 Levin...=)
|Posted by: art84 Mar 30 2009, 06:24 AM|
|i usually play in west mall, but the players there are few, where are the hotspots which u can see pro matches taking place? I feel ID 5 is not so popular in singapore, so many players for wagan haizz....|
|Posted by: oooooo Mar 30 2009, 06:26 AM|
| how to level up??
I have been battling quite a bit to a 14 win instore.. still no level up lei... still D3... weird...
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 30 2009, 06:30 AM|
only online battle can level up.
|Posted by: oooooo Mar 30 2009, 06:32 AM|
|not really u see... i have seen youtube videos with cars with 0 online battles with a A3 rank... thats y...|
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 30 2009, 06:33 AM|
only online battle can level up, otherwise i already rank SS liao lol
|Posted by: oooooo Mar 30 2009, 06:40 AM|
|like that ar... ok then... shall wait til Singapore has online ba... sadz..|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 30 2009, 06:51 AM|
those 0 Online Battles with A3 rank are those ppl who got A3 rank in ID4 then converted their cards over.
They retain their old rank on conversion.
pro matches not so fast ba... 95% of us are still tuning our first car leh... then probably 90% of us are figuring out what is happening in the game.
|Posted by: oooooo Mar 30 2009, 07:48 AM|
|thx for enlightening me.. hahaz... ok... will concentrate on the nagao map... hahaz..|

| today around 6pm at whitesand idv5 machine, i found a MIP tapz card with the name jerry printed on it.
i have handed the card to the whitesand arcade attendant.
|Posted by: art84 Mar 31 2009, 07:30 AM|
| Thumbs up for Rei.G for being an honest guy.
Maybe next time u should drain its credit before returning the card Just jking.
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 31 2009, 07:39 AM|
tbh i am very tempted to
im sure zone x keeps track of their MIP contacts.
|Posted by: RS4 Mar 31 2009, 08:11 AM|
|lol.. to tell u the truth... not all zone x outlets keeps tracks... they have to update and key in the MIP's particulars in their store 1st.... like if u make card from JP, u go cck or amk, they dont have ur details... so if u break or lost ur MIP card, u have to wait till they get their updated information from their HQ which will take about 1 or 2 weeks... well some of them forget to call and u have to go down there next week to ask again....|
|Posted by: art84 Mar 31 2009, 08:27 AM|
|Not promoting for timezone, however to save your cars money in tuning, timezone have a double dollar deal every sunday, visit www.timezone.com.sg. Hence if your near timezone why dont take advantage of it during the limited time where a single ID5 game only cost 50 cents. Lololx.|
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 31 2009, 08:49 AM|
we can make MIP cards from japan? o.o thats the first time hearing that
|Posted by: Rei.G Mar 31 2009, 08:55 AM|
jp = jurong point la
|Posted by: Heron Mar 31 2009, 09:00 AM|
|Or actually 45 cents if you are a Gold Card holder of Timezone...=)|
|Posted by: clown321 Mar 31 2009, 09:01 AM|
|but most of the timezones are outdated, from one of my frens, who is a staff member there.|
|Posted by: Heron Mar 31 2009, 09:16 AM|
|It's not so bad...I mean, at least the driving games are there...LOL. I am shocked to see the ID 5 machines there though. I thought it would be Funland who grabs it first.|
|Posted by: stormfox Mar 31 2009, 03:48 PM|
actually Funland and Zonex did release ID5 first.. (same day release)
Timezone joined in the party within a week or 2 if i dont recall wrongly
|Posted by: Heron Mar 31 2009, 05:50 PM|
| Zzz...then Yishun didn't take it...damn.
Never mind. Double dollar for me.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 1 2009, 12:43 AM|
lol! don go to vivo's timezone if you are going there by any chance. its still not updated yet, ID5 isn't there yet, from what i know. better go to other timezones, or zonex
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 1 2009, 07:20 AM|
dont say too soon. not all ZoneX got ID5 either.
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 1 2009, 07:33 AM|

| Can anyone provide a list of arcades where there are a substantial crowd of ID5 racers in singapore?
Besides Atrium, where are the places u see lots of ID5 racers?
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 1 2009, 09:19 PM|
| tampines mall, not alot of racer but there is alot alot of crowds.

i feel uncomfortable playing there though
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 1 2009, 10:43 PM|
If I were still schooling around Tampines, I'll definitely go down to play.
Who cares about the crowd. Doesn't matter to someone like me who's a complete noob. LOL.
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 1 2009, 10:54 PM|
| ya. every1 will be going like.
ee. so slow. =D
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 1 2009, 10:58 PM|
| Exactly. So they can't be bothered to watch me play in the first place. No pressure.
Please head over to the other side to discuss anything local for IDAS5 people. You know the URL!
Also, post up your timings there with a picture as verification! Thank you!
Am doing so much publicity stunts... hopefully I won't get nailed by the admins here. =X

| I got a timing of 3'19 on akina dhd with my trueno- 7-0-0-0-0. Some people on this forum say they got like 3'17 stock?!
So, I was wondering if my bad timing is because of me or because of the 'accel calibration' thingy. I played at downtown east BTW. Can someone tell me how I'm doing based on my timing? Thanks.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 3 2009, 06:57 AM|
is trueno your first car? if it is then your timing is not bad liao.
|Posted by: Roaddawg Apr 3 2009, 07:50 AM|
Rly? I thought my timing very bad.
yes it's my first and only car. still not FTed yet.
Still need a lot of work on tsukuba. Very hard to get entry speeds right.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 3 2009, 08:47 AM|

|Posted by: clown321 Apr 3 2009, 09:10 AM|
sometimes crowds is a good thing. maybe, to boost ur popularity? or to make more people interested in ID5?
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 3 2009, 11:57 AM|
| Updated Rei.G's timings up in SGRacer.
Where are those timings from those FT-ed owners? Fill up the spaces while you still can!
|Posted by: gazua Apr 3 2009, 07:51 PM|
if bang here n there will it bring popularity?
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 3 2009, 08:45 PM|

|Posted by: stormfox Apr 3 2009, 09:58 PM|
Pros: "OMG.. that looks tough and cool.. lets try"
Cons: "OMG.. that looks too hard. lets go back to something else"
rrriiigghhhtt... but at least people are watching again
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 3 2009, 10:35 PM|
|i don play to gain popularity. i just wan to be like bu'dong, pro in ID|

|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 4 2009, 09:23 AM|

'00 Hippo IB??? >.<
Is there a faster way to FT other than to eject every 3 games? =s
|Posted by: Heron Apr 4 2009, 09:35 AM|
| That's fast.
Now I wish I can be 5 seconds adrift in my Levin. That would be nice enough.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 06:54 PM|
If and only if we get the Multiple-Tunings-Per-Shop-Visit thing that the japs have when connected to initiald.net.
fingers cross and hope.
|Posted by: shadow_z3r0 Apr 4 2009, 07:09 PM|
| we were promised that a few weeks ago
until now also still no sign.
so pissed off.
i'm not continuing the game till we get the connection.
right now, still back to observing the players.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 4 2009, 07:43 PM|
| Got to agree that idv5 is starting to get a bit boring, but a new style of playing just pop up.
so me and my bro are trying to figure out how to maximise acceleration/tire efficiency??/CP management??
It's like playing the game all over again.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 08:14 PM|
|new playing style?|
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 4 2009, 08:18 PM|
go slowly & steady on the first 2 checkpoint. then you will notice a significant "boost on" effect for your 3rd/4th Checkpoint.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 08:22 PM|
but this is getting wayyy tooo deeeep
|Posted by: ultradd Apr 4 2009, 08:24 PM|
yea, it's deep.
slow in cp1 and 2 = VERY fast in cp3 and 4
slow in cp1, fast in cp2 and 3,=moderate in cp4.
most importantly, aim best lines
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 08:27 PM|
| hmm... ah.. strategy... pick your attacking points carefully...
now this is getting very very very interesting
but the good thing is... even when lacking this knowlege.. its possible to be decently quick to have some fun games and not feel horribly left out.
theres something for the mainstream and extra for the pros
i like this.
in ID4.. PC.. either you get it... or you don't. the game blows when the person does not get what PC is and is left out wayyyyy behind.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 4 2009, 08:30 PM|
but it's very frustrating to use the new method.
always seeing your first 2 cp + more than 1~2sec, morale down.
then checkpoint 3 tend to offset the timings. finally breaking your own record with fast checkpoint 4.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 08:34 PM|
| hmm.. undoubtedly so...
does the car feel any different? like more understeer than normal or the tire skids more than normal?
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 4 2009, 08:38 PM|
driving style not much different, maybe no differences at all. (remember mark@ 2'57 happo run? his last check point run is like super sonic compare to his 3'00 vid)
the screen may fly a bit faster but your speedometer remains about the same.
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Apr 4 2009, 09:09 PM|
lol. seems like u hv notice this too..
looking at the timing of the others here.. there are so much more faster players den me.. i not that godly yet -__-
|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 4 2009, 09:53 PM|
|Is this for real =_________=|
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 4 2009, 09:55 PM|

Fujiwara zone (the one that appeared during vs MRS)?
|Posted by: spl Apr 4 2009, 10:47 PM|
|I was worried about this.. I noticed boost effect in TA also and was hoping I had just not figured out how to play properly yet... >< god what is happening...|
|Posted by: RooP Apr 5 2009, 02:25 AM|
| every version of ID has some gheyness in it.
so does this version as well.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 03:38 AM|
|i guess this may be one of the things that keep battles interesting? lol..|
|Posted by: ultradd Apr 5 2009, 05:46 AM|
| very interesting indeed.
my tsukuba out is now 3'02''9xx , and i have experimented 2 ways of attacking tsukuba using this boost effect.
i'm using the boost for my cp2 and 3 instead of 3 and 4 as i can't control my car well for cp4 when the car is godspeed, i will have to relearn cp4. Both attacking points should give similar results, not sure abt the rest of the maps.
so it is best to use the boost effect for your best cps. it is also better to attack the course normally first to find your limit, i only discover this boost effect yesterday after watching some videos.
V5 is fun isn't it.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 5 2009, 07:07 AM|
| anw i have a lil problem here ...
is the steering wheel in ID5 less stiffer than ID4? I played ID5 today with steering wheel stiffness lvl 10, but it just feels like a lvl 4 stiffness. any idea?
and whats up with the new boost effect now? how does it happen?
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 07:10 AM|
| o_O... you can control when the boost effect appears?
or is it more of when you start to push the car?
|Posted by: ultradd Apr 5 2009, 07:12 AM|
yes, it depends on how fast u play your cp1 and 2
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Apr 5 2009, 07:46 AM|
|ahh~ secret out of the bag.. lol... now everyone is running so fast.. haha|
|Posted by: Heron Apr 5 2009, 07:55 AM|
Now my head hurts...
And to think I got my FT and feeling happy. Now I have a boost effect?
|Posted by: ultradd Apr 5 2009, 08:02 AM|
sooner or later everyone will know. Knowing the secret early may not be a good thing, still need to master course first to know your limits, then choose attacking points.
|Posted by: Heron Apr 5 2009, 08:05 AM|
| Well, this feels as if its like a usage of tires kind of thing. If you use your tires well you become faster and vice versa...
Now my head really hurts.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 08:05 AM|
|they are discussing the same thing on the HK boards too anyway... so its a sooner or later thing|
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 5 2009, 09:43 AM|
| Am not playing this game any more! Simply too hard to understand and unrealistic!
I still prefer good ol' V3.
|Posted by: spl Apr 5 2009, 01:22 PM|
yeah looks like back to V3 possibly..
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 04:25 PM|
you sure about this line?
|Posted by: BDDEE@ Apr 5 2009, 05:35 PM|
| almost seems asif the tyres wear out when pushing cp1 and cp2 for the cp3 or cp4 to be slow judging by what ppl have said
i liked the realism but wearing out tyres takes away the arcady feel in a way =.=
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Apr 5 2009, 05:41 PM|
True that true that, or maybe there's no such thing as Tire Wear, that MARK@ is just doing better at his 2'57"666
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 05:50 PM|
from the looks of Mark's 3'00 and 2'57 happo run... te speeds doesn't look much different at sector4.
would have been nice if there is some visible speed/understeer differences depending on tire wear though.. rather than "it feels faster".
|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 5 2009, 07:49 PM|
| Hmm I compared both Happo vids, in the 3 min run, Mark's CP1 was about almost 1 sec faster than the 2'57 run, and he was taking the 4 hairpins in cp3 around the high 60's-70kmph.
In the 2'57 vid he was taking pretty much everything slower in cp1 and 3 but his cp4 was noticeably faster even though the speeds were about the same =s
I guess I'll try this out in akina later...slow cp1 and 2 and see if I can abuse the boost for cp3 and 4 since there are so many long straights = |
I'm pretty sure this bug was unintentional...probably a side effect from the new acceleration penalty system =\
This game is actually pretty simple to understand ~_~
|Posted by: -ShinRei- Apr 5 2009, 07:56 PM|
|Interesting..Make me wanna play it NOW!!|
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 09:04 PM|

|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 5 2009, 09:23 PM|
I've got a target coilover to get. Spending more $$ is extremely detrimental that dateline. So yeah, I'm pretty certain.
I'll probably put this card up for sale. It's nearly FT-ed...
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 5 2009, 11:19 PM|

why sell the card =.= ... wasting money selling only...
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 5 2009, 11:47 PM|

| Getting there...
Akina DH - 3'12'463
Akagi DH - 2'52'4xx
Irohazaka DH - 3'13'x
Kinda know what is the 'boost effect' thingy, but still working on it. Funny how it really works on Akina's CP4 though...my Levin doesn't lose so much speed at the final turns. Especially the last one.
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 7 2009, 08:33 PM|
| Post your timings over at SGRacer.
Where is everyone who chats here but doesn't chat there?! It's YOUR local forum for crying out loud!
|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 7 2009, 10:55 PM|
| Alo' ReiG, how friggin slow are you supposed to do cp1 and cp2 for akina in order to get the boost for cp3/cp4??? I can't get it to work the way I want to (tried it in tsukuba/akina).
Heron -> Even without the boost you shouldn't be losing much speed in the final cp4 stretch, if I remember correctly I could reach the right hander around 162 usually with my MR2, then come out from that right-left curve thingy around 158 or so.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 7 2009, 11:12 PM|
|i have not try it in akina yet.|
|Posted by: Heron Apr 7 2009, 11:20 PM|
|Well, for some funny reason I hit 156km/h on my 3'12 run. But I was referring to the last corner. Speeds dropped from around 150+ to 133...need to figure out how to do it.|
|Posted by: spl Apr 7 2009, 11:54 PM|
Yeah hahaha.. I know what you mean la... I mean this game the corners are SOOO slow already.. how much slower do you need to go?? xD
|Posted by: Heron Apr 8 2009, 12:52 AM|
Eh...a difference of 5-10km/h isn't so bad...I mean in Akina you could take the 1st hairpin at around 80km/h. But in the 3'08 Akina DH vid the exit speed is at around 74km/h?
Have to just figure out.
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 8 2009, 08:38 AM|
| LoL. Guess everyone is living in their own world then. Since no one bothers to check up SGRacer.
Discussing it here, might as well discuss it in the local forum, no? Or is it maybe because it's better to talk here and gain reputation than locally because some rep is already lost in the local scene?
|Posted by: Sh|nN~* Apr 8 2009, 12:34 PM|
| Shini, I don't think it's appropriate to go that far with your advertising for SgRacer to the point where it gets a tad too offensive. Do chill and leave the folks here alone..
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with them browsing more active forums where they can gain tips from professional players locally and also internationally. SgRacer could perhaps make an effort to spruce up more hits by initiating active discussions on gameplay aspects and stuff, such as in the case of some of the threads we see here.
But anyway. Speaking as a veteran player of the Singapore IDAS community (since v2 days), I'm glad to see local interest for the game has risen with this latest version release. Taking things from our Ny3oC's perspective, more players = more competition = more incentive/motivation to improve our local timings; something we'd be most happy to do/see.
However, with regards to the gameplay - While I don't deny that forums exist for discussions, I think, that like what my teammate Bu`DoNg pointed out, I would like to actively encourage all Singapore-based players to experiment and make conclusions on your own eventually.
I mean, I just couldn't help noticing that there can be a lot of 'duh' responses in this thread, plus some questions that even the better players are clueless to, the game still being in its early phases. Newbies are forgiven, but it's queer to see established names ask silly questions.
All I can say is, if you haven't hit a better timing than that of the run on any available video clips, watch it closely and copy/adapt/reinvent an ideal line to attack the course in your own good time. It's good to also make reference to the IR to track progress.
So far, we've worked out that slow = fast and also that it helps to exercise tire management in between CPs. Hope (Singapore) players can take more of an individual initiative to figure and advance things on their own from here instead of getting 'spoon-fed'.
That's how I have been progressing - If I can do it, anyone can yah.
Thank you and good luck in your timings people.
|Posted by: spl Apr 8 2009, 01:10 PM|
You guys still have Ny3oC IRC channel? xD
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 8 2009, 05:10 PM|
bingo. there are ppl there. mainly decent players. but where are the discussions.
its easier to attract new blood to post when there is already a discussion going on rather than pushing them into the room and hope that they find something to talk about. it doesn't make sense for people to migrate if they don't feel that they are going to get much input at all over there.
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 8 2009, 09:48 PM|
| lols @ kc's post.
in wad way do u consider his advertising too offensive?
i jus find tat we shldn't overlook uncle ho's effort in maintaining tat forum for us e more old players. its jus tat prolly new players dun noe of its existance?
furthermore, discussion threads not opened there, reason being..
how many times do we see one another during e week in e arcade. @ e end, things are always being discussed in e arcade so going by word of mouth is definately faster than tat of words where u will nid a comp to access to e forum.
jus my 2cents worth cos i see e way u put down shini, its slightly unacceptable.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 8 2009, 10:12 PM|
that is exactly the issue. ppl see nothing moving in the forum its dead. someone asks a simple question. just about nobody replies. cos everyone else already knows the answer.
catch the drift?
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 8 2009, 10:13 PM|
| so.. has any new topic been formed asking qns?
tats my qn now
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 8 2009, 10:15 PM|
go see where Gazua has been trying to answer question.
Granted.. it is a dead simple question.
but at least he is trying.
Edit: ok.. you are in it too. its a start. but still more activity is needed to pull ppl in.
its not that its any one person's fault. it is just that if you see a pretty dead quiet forum that frankly.. has noting.. would you yourself register to post?
the key point is to generate life!
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 8 2009, 10:32 PM|
| i've been @ tat stage b4. when i started id, there are loads of help provided @ tat very same place. so i can say its not pure assumption.
if qns has been put forward, im sure ppl in tat forum will be more than willing to help if e answer is available.
as u noe from this version, there are things tat is nt easily explained in e forum, ie braking pts and accel pts.
so, as i mentioned, answers will be available if it can be answered in words. =)
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 8 2009, 10:43 PM|
| for his particular question.. yea... find some other way to generate life then.
the other old thread there... about ID5 out for beta..
Mar02: i asked whether we will be getting anything. (ok.. ppl dont go there at that time. i'll let it pass)
Mar14: Area51 mentoined going to play.
-= end of thread. =-
you mean no one else plays?
no one else have anything to say?
like it? love it? hate it? it sucks?
*surrenders. i'm guilty too for not addin on to his post. i was demoralised already anyway at that time*
i know you all discuss amongst yourselves.
see if you all have move some or part of the discussion into a thread format.
a ghost town is a ghost town until the inhabitants start making life
or some ppl move in as a group and make their own life
few if no one will want to feel that he's talking to himself.
maybe make it a point for the veterans to contribute a least 1reply a day pertaining to the game (substance/information)... to get the ball rolling
perhaps we should move this discussion over.. on how to create life.
i may try later today since i better get back to work. or you can spear head it first

| And you notice the likes of people whom the community wants to give a chance to just simply shun the forum.
Just like the case of HIRA*. After a match and WOOSH! He disappears to the international forum where everyone doesn't know him and praises him like a god. When some of the local guys pop by this international forum and say HI... TADAH! He goes into hiding again.
I wonder, does it apply to some people here?
Sorry if my words are laced with malice but... you know who you are.
Posting your 'fast' timings here probably does inflate the ego a bit. But when you go to the local arcades, you get deflated again.
Hopefully our international friends don't fall prey to these bunch of people running away from reality!
@ spl, it's still there! But since we're rather busy with our lives, there's not much activity in there.
Hope I've said what I needed to say here. No offence to our international friends, but please do note the people who have been sharing how 'knowledgeable' they are. Not everyone can produce runs like that without copying others and claiming that it's his own.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 9 2009, 05:56 AM|
| what we need is more local best timing updates. so we can see some competitions.
i thick skin & started to post some timings first, to get the ball rolling.
and when my timing got broken,it makes me strive for better timings.(and i get to see who da very fast players bcos i don't go DG atrium to play)
as for gameplay discussions, watch youtube and play ur own best la.
but if there really is a particular question that keeping racking in your head, im sure peeps here would gladly answer it.

I dont even care about this game but I'll call you out. Look, it seems like care you lot about others people getting credit for playing a game. While I could point out so many wrong things with that I'll just say this... if someone happens to get treated well for fake/slow times that are from SG honestly why should you care.
You dont like it? Well grow some Initial D spirit and post a better time man, because since v1 thats what everyone has been doing everywhere. Welcome to Initial D x Interwebz its serious business.. Also keep in mind I am not sticking up for anyone as I dont even know any players in SG that play this game.
If you care so much about your "cause" where were you when Reyherks (world famous) posted like 5 world records and took up so much space on the v3 ranking? Where were you when JALIY posted all this b.s about a rainbow aura he never made himself? Unless you can do better or prove the time posted is fake dont even worry about.
Also I seriously doubt any noob with slow times, and fake ones can last here on these forums. You think SG is the only country with fast v5 times? Take a look around...
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 9 2009, 07:18 AM|
I'm a Singaporean. That's the only answer I have for you. Business enough for me?
You say since V1. Yup, I've been playing this game since V1 too.
True that some things remain the same regardless of which country it is. But since we're talking about Singapore, let's talk about what we do here, and our rules.
For example, we don't have Boost On matches from V1 to V3. Don't talk about V4 honestly, I don't wanna go there. While in HK or JP or maybe even your country, Boost On matches are the norm, not in Singapore though.
If a nobody like Reyherks gets to you so easily, that's your case. If you think you're the only affected one, then I'm sorry to burst your bubble. He's caused the same damage to the SG ID community forum as well. We had to shut down registrations for a while. We suffered clone attacks on MSN, but we endured it. What's the point of bringing all this up? That you suffered more than us? Hey, we chose not to 'gripe' about the entire incident, that's all.
If you want me to display some honest evidence of 'fast timings', I'm sad to say that I'm not going to entertain you. Though some old birds who know me (if they even exist here in the first place, or are willing to tell you who I am) will tell you my 'life story', which is pretty boring so you don't wanna hear it.
At the moment, in a show of humbleness, I'm SLOW. Okay? Because I already know what kinda response I'm gonna get, so I'm just cut the story short and say I'm slow. But hey, I want you to be surprised just for once, some day okay?
Did I mention even once, that we're the only country with fast times? Please don't put words in my mouth. I respect the Japanese and HK-ers more than you can ever imagine. But on a word for Singaporeans, especially a particular individual, I would like you to watch this particular talent grow.
You seem to me to be the hero type. I'll give you the credit. There are a lot of people who talk theories about games, life, whatever makes them happy, but... can't walk the talk. Not referring to you, but the people who feel the sting of my words.
Right now, I'm actually just cautioning in goodwill, international friends like you, who are not the locals, not to be taken in awe easily of some people who can't walk that talk. No malice or pun intended.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, you COULD be older, but that does not mean you fully understand what I'm drilling here.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 9 2009, 07:38 AM|
|hey everyone lets not get fired up alright? i opened this post partly to discuss abt techniques ... so people around the world can share their own ways, can experiment on themselves later on. its not like this thread is opened to "spoon feed" people. if you guys think of this way i have nothing to say. BUT this IS an international forum, we have to respect each other's culture and way of seeing things. lets chill down okay? be happy guys, we're all tgt to learn ID5|
|Posted by: RooP Apr 9 2009, 07:52 AM|
| kaizoku23: if you respect REYHERKS.. then i seriously doubt your ability of differentiating the real n fake players
and not forgetting real and fake timings too.
i would suggest that you dont start discussion regarding ID ver1 days in SG. trust me. SHINI is one old bird on that. though i played from V1 too.
lets dont get so worked up over the past. just grasp on the present and go into the future shall we?

| You're right. We're here to learn. I'm just telling our overseas friends that SOME people might not be as 'fast' as they think that they might be.
Could refer to ANYONE, you... me... him... her...
If people could share their timings here, and ask if they're fast or not, why not post up the timings in the local forum where everybody can see? Not sneakily getting credit here for some 'God' while the REAL fast deal is not getting the correct recognition!
I'm speaking up on part of these hidden talents, and shooting down the ones who want to give the impression to others that they are fast... but they're not. It's as simple as that.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 9 2009, 07:59 AM|
|yes i do agree that ppl like this DO exist (not trying to insult or aim anyone else). but lets keep it to ourselves okay? don make it till ... you know. lols. im oso a singaporean and i roughly know ur feelings. yeah. Any questions newbies asks maybe, is an annoyance. but think of this ... ur once a noob .just answers their questions truthfully and honestly will do them a great deed|
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 9 2009, 08:00 AM|
| but i don't understand why the very fast players don't post their timings.
edit: i apologies for my usage of words here, my bad.
i meant to say, all the fast sg peep post their timings leh.
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 9 2009, 08:05 AM|
| LoL. Rei, what is your definition of fast? Akina Downhill Dry below 3'20?
The definition of 'fast' is still very vague. 'Fast' players are trying to push their timings each day, hence they probably don't feel the need to upload a timing today, and then update it again tomorrow. When they feel that they've hit Hadrian's wall (rather low though), then probably they'll update.
We're encouraging the people here, locals... who share their timings all the time here, to come challenge the unofficial local timings board that mods and players have so painstakingly setup to accommodate timings. It's an old and reknowned SG local forum.
No need for more words for you Rei, your timing is already there. So I'm letting everyone else who ALWAYS share their timings here, yet shun the local timing board...
POST IT, PROVE IT.
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Apr 9 2009, 08:37 AM|
cos i think there is only 1 or 2 pros in sg only(as in overall skill)..hahaha~
when did we say sg timing very fast ? u go see the other thread.. hk broken the japanese akagi dh dry timing. that is wad i called fast. haha..
i know i doesnt have any say in this as i am not as fast as comparing to many guys here. still trying to grasp how the game worked by testing many stuffs which is not yet discuss.. but somehow it seems to fail each time when i go to the arcade..
but i learn 1 thing here is..to remain low profile here...
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 9 2009, 08:42 AM|
| *Nods* Wise answer.
The fast ones are the quiet ones. *Grins at Bu`DoNg*
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 9 2009, 08:46 AM|
Boost On matches are for pure fun.
just that some people seem to hate them like a plague. as if it is a form of cheating and get too worked up over it.
it just happen to be some unwritten rule that many times are taken wwwaaayyy tooooo seerrriiouuusssllllyyyy
|Posted by: S H I N I Apr 9 2009, 08:47 AM|
| Yup. But our competitive matches here are all Boost Off. Including the Zone X nationals.
I'm just sorry for those people who seek solace here in their 'fast timings'. Hopefully the smoke doesn't go over international waters. Hahaha.
|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Apr 9 2009, 08:50 AM|
lol... boost on fun~ can wall rape~ lol.... as well as give me chance to win the pros.. lol..
somethings make me curious.. i think only sg shake hands after a battle right ? lol.. not so sure abt the other countries...
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 9 2009, 09:03 AM|
okok. boost on is fun.. when between friends who play their hearts out for a adrenaline filled match.
not against buggers who let you run for 300m then fire their rocket engines.
that i admit.. haah..
i re-read your post. your first line states that you don't even care about this game. erm ya.. somethings not right.
it will be like me going into the Extra Stage thread and shoot people off as whiners who only know how to complain about the game being hard to play with a gamepad.
(yes yes... i KNOW it is hard with a gamepad. any racing sim is hard with a gamepad or keyboard. it is just an example.)
|Posted by: gazua Apr 9 2009, 09:47 AM|
i cannot post kc too fast
all now starting to play wif words... let's chillax
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 9 2009, 09:52 AM|

|Posted by: *RAY Apr 9 2009, 10:04 AM|
| common lei. you guy are a TEAM just ask one another how to play la. don't really get it why is it that in SG everyone say they are NOOB. lol.
anyway SG is so dead. id are still out number but the WANGANers. hope you guy bring up the competition level and more team pls.
|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 9 2009, 06:36 PM|
| I gotta admit Namco did a real good job in making Wangan appeal to the mass-market.
All those 'minigames (ghost battles/challenge)' and car-mods and stuff give even the sucky players something to play for.
I'm surprised Sega hasn't taken a page out of their book yet (aka stolen their idea, unless its been patented).

| if we can connect to id-net i happy liao.
1 shot multiple tuning
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 9 2009, 11:27 PM|
|wah i think if SG open its online battles alot ppl would be playing ID5, then even 4 machines will not be enough ... just like in V3 days ... 8 machines oso not enough|
|Posted by: Heron Apr 10 2009, 12:31 AM|
| Wah, you guys still remember HIRA sia.
Anyway, I believe that I still got so much to learn. It's not even funny when I am 4-6 seconds away from my car WR and I am doing things mostly ok. And just going for the game blindly. Now I still have to relook at my Akina DH last right hander and the S-curve to make myself go faster, maybe breaking the 3'10 barrier.
Zzz...besides, I do think I always post in the international forums on my timings, but I always try to push it harder. It's merely for me a reminder on how much I have to do. Even back in v3 days.
BTW any news on any form of nationals in SG this year? Never been to one...since I am a noob and all.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 10 2009, 07:16 AM|
1 shot multiple tuning
from what i read on the Jap ID wikihouse, these are featured under paid services.
the free services is just the IR thats about it.
there is another feature until paid service, Online Garage, basically we can buy parts with pts and store them in the garage and just log on and change the parts anytime.
anyone in Japan can confirm these???
these are based off what is read and lousy translations.
as for national battles... if the internet latency makes it cheesy.. i rather not have it.
|Posted by: J]-[UN Apr 10 2009, 09:11 PM|
| Apparently to get near the model records in akina you need to use the boost =(
|Posted by: Kenji Apr 11 2009, 01:43 AM|
It's being patented. On the intro screen of DX, it says "Ghost Battle" are among the trademark of Namco.
BTW, Free Krispy Kreme is given out every 15 minutes... XD
So soft n yummy.
|Posted by: slower Apr 11 2009, 10:54 AM|
|i got an idea. to increase competition, let's make it compulsory that all of us SG players here on the forums must turn on in-store battle whenever we play. that way, if we bump into each other, no need to talk, just in-store straightaway...|
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 11 2009, 05:23 PM|
|dont think theres a need to. when there are enough FT cars running around... naturally there will be more battles i feel|
|Posted by: Heron Apr 12 2009, 03:41 AM|
| I so slow I will get owned de. LOL. Only have theories in my head which given my limited skills I cannot fully utilize.
But if you guys see me feel free to talk to me. I want to learn more as well.
|Posted by: clown321 Apr 12 2009, 06:35 AM|

|Posted by: Bu`DoNg Apr 12 2009, 08:37 AM|
hahaha u mus ask urself that first mah..cos everytime see u.. u sure say u noob.... that is why i aso dun get it...
there is a limit of asking ard.. i've been trying to seek help for maps that i play but till date, no improvement yet.. =( maybe its somewhere i did wrong but no one notice it.. haha...
well, this game is still pretty new.. there are still quite a no. of stuffs we have not discover yet.. hoepfully we can find it out soon...

| Hi guys!
I used to play v3 abit and now started playing v5. Skipped v4.
Currently got stucked on Takumi on Akina. T.T
I normally play at sengkang's compasspoint. TM only once, too many ppl.
Ytd 1 machine at sengkang cannot play coz unable to connect.
|Posted by: LancE.Ryousuke Apr 19 2009, 09:01 AM|
The machines at Parkway still have that acceleration issue we were debating about at the start of V5.
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 20 2009, 12:08 AM|
| eh i just started playing V5 yesterday just brought my card went to timezone play cos got the sunday promotion (top $20 give $40 value, top $50 give $100 value) thing i play until the arcade close i still left $38. I lost more than 10 matches in Akina's AE86
I got question to ask how come my AE86 steps already reach 7-1-0-0-0 but i can't seem to accelerate in gear 5 instead of speed up my speed constantly remain the same and just turning A LITTLE bit the speed drops.. is it the accelerate problem or i'm still not qualified to beat Akina's AE86?
|Posted by: ultradd Apr 20 2009, 12:16 AM|
i heard some TZ machines still haven calibrated the gears.
turning a bit and losing speed is normal in this version.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 20 2009, 12:17 AM|

|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 20 2009, 12:30 AM|

|Posted by: stormfox Apr 20 2009, 07:03 AM|
| not my own. it has been there since at least the V2 times i think.
just wondering it if can ever recover the old liveliness.
theres more international ppl here.. but more local over there. so both sides got its advantages anyways.
if SHINI says its ok. its ok. =)

|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 20 2009, 08:35 PM|

|Posted by: anbu999 Apr 20 2009, 09:00 PM|
| Might want to try at Ang Mo Kio Hub, everytime I walk pass there no body touching the machine.
Advise from old player :
Go save your money and buy real car. I guaranteed you that it is much more fun than wasting ur time on some simulator and thinking that you are good driver.
Some might get offended, but when you grow up you'll understand.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 20 2009, 09:08 PM|
| AMK Hub tends to be full on weekends
i guess people are starting to run out of money to play...
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 20 2009, 10:03 PM|

IT'S OMG!!! my last match which i overtook by 18+m i didn't know how i did it too so this sunday going to play and polish my skill..|
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 21 2009, 01:13 AM|
u oni go there on suns?
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 01:14 AM|
go for smooth stable driving.
it may feeel slower than just throwing the car around the corner... but it adds up
think of the lessons in the anime.
smooth driving, tire management... beats all-out-heck-care rush driving
|Posted by: gene.gene™ Apr 21 2009, 01:15 AM|
talking abt tire management to peeps new to e game is abit hard to grasp for them. prolly nid to look @ others play to understand.
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 01:26 AM|
thats why i didnt mention tire management specifically.
just drive in a smooth stable manner. and naturally the only way possible is to slow down.
how can one be smooth and stable when the car is fishtailing?
it worked on a couple o friends once they force themselves to be slow and steady rather than fast and fishtailing
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 21 2009, 01:53 AM|
| eh.. so version 5 really have tire management? i just like the feeling of oversteer than countersteer.. i think i drive quite smooth but sometimes after i pass them they sticking to my tail and i saw those light on my mirror i will lose concentration and BOOM!!! ram into walls..
yeah, i only go on sunday cos only sunday got the promotion ma even after the promotion end i think i will only go on sunday cos all my friend now schooling they only weekend free but they play tekken 6 i'm the only 1 solo Initial D...
|Posted by: zhenyu1994 Apr 21 2009, 03:19 AM|
|ran back to the arcade for some games just now..... trued akina takymi 2 times but failed horribly.... played iro.... won the first guy in 2nd try..m. was wondering how yo do the jump thing.... cuz kip loosing to the second guy... brcuz i cant jump.... then choked... nid advice on iro...|
|Posted by: BDDEE@ Apr 21 2009, 03:32 AM|
|its not tyre management, tyre management wont make the screen faster in cp4 when you stop the cars for 10 seconds in cp3|
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 21 2009, 03:34 AM|
when i do the jump thing my speed always 50+ to 60+ and you know the out-in-out thing? try applying to it when doing the jump thing quite useful but don't use it too early cos u might stuck on the railing.. using that iro map should be easy ba.. i ran the 1st and 2nd guy 1 time complete the map liao..
oh btw, watch out after all those turning corner cos if you not familiar you might ram 1 of the wall which is right after those turning / near ending.
|Posted by: zhenyu1994 Apr 21 2009, 04:32 AM|
| hey regarding the jumping thing, since u said that ur speed is about 50+ to 60+ then i my as well drift... cuz my exit speed is aprox 70+ leh.
sorry rather new to this game jus started 3 days ago....
after watching some videos i realised its not mostly about the jumpy thing but i choked at the last drifiting part just before the straightway to the finish... so maybe my fault.. tend to get excited at that point and crash.....
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 21 2009, 04:41 AM|
|well we all have different style of playing for the jumpy thing for me i think that u use a shorter road you can actually accelerate more so it will cover the lag of speed during the turn and i'm not really sure with my exiting speed but what i saw during my turn the lowest speed i every go is 50+...|
|Posted by: zhenyu1994 Apr 21 2009, 05:28 AM|
| haha but i think maybe we should experiment different style of playing in other to br a better player?
but thats my opinion though i know im still noob to comment about sych stuffs.... will be trying tomorrow after my chemistry test.. going mugging now...
PS:where u guys normaly play? and does zone X has such thing like VIP stuffs?
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 05:53 AM|
| Never EVER touch any walls. with your nose or your butt. NEVER.
if you dont touch anything... i think shouldnt lose to any lvl1 AI in general.
Takes a while to get used to. but do that first before trying any funny stuff
I find AI lvl6 starting to get interesting for driving a Stock car on tracks like Happo and Nagao... lol...
i probably suck at overtaking.
Zone X has promotions.
Currently is Downtown East Zone X top up $20 get and extra $20.
Only up to end of April. need to find the brochure though.. may be getting rare already cos its already near the end of April.
|Posted by: zhenyu1994 Apr 21 2009, 06:20 AM|
With regards to some zoneX promotions, as mentioned i surfed the zoneX web for some stuffs...
1: Passion Card members
Flash your Passion card at AMK zoneX and get your SMIP tapz at $10
Top up $20, get NeBO membership, and exclusive NeBO MIP TAPZ.... (not sure bout this... anyone can check out and post a reply??)
Regarding the $20 for @20 its over.. the cupon can be printed off the internet....
Maybe off topic but just wanna post some info and try to help........
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 06:27 AM|
i still got a couple extra brochures.
and they still can be used.
the question is whether the brochures can be found at downtown east or not cos its the March-April edition of their brochure.
the printable one is different
its not advertised on Zone X website cos its a Downtown East promo

how do you tell which is lvl1 AI and lvl6 AI? from the star?
Let's all list down our CARD name so next time we see each other can say hi. I will start the ball rolling~
Copy, paste and include your *CARD* name and where you play. For starter i will just put the number till 15 if go beyond that please add the number yourself.
001. XTREME / usually play at Great World
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 06:47 AM|
more of the number of times you complete story mode.
they start at Lvl1.
each time you complete the whole story mode they rise by 1 level
001. XTREME / usually play at Great World
002. STRMFX / AMK Hub... maybe Atrium
|Posted by: XTREME_90 Apr 21 2009, 06:51 AM|
|what's the max level?|
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 06:56 AM|
Oops.. it starts from Lvl0... until lvl 10 max.
anything above is capped at lvl10.
in the future you can always lower the story mode difficulty down to a minimum of 0 though i don't see a point to it.
its the topmost option.
|Posted by: Rei.G Apr 21 2009, 07:01 AM|
how much more points with increase difficulty when we win against AI?
|Posted by: stormfox Apr 21 2009, 07:08 AM|
i didnt notice any increase in points.
i'll take a closer look for confirmation next time i play

| In the past when X-T was active, there was this particular bugger whose face I haven't really forgotten, he went around challenging people and telling them openly that he was from Team X-Treme.
We caught the chap at Suntec. Baited him with our top tier Irohazaka Downhill player (Sam Itsuki)... he then said, "I'm from Team X-Treme. The most pro team in SG!"
Right. Sam smoked him silly and then said, "I'M FROM THE REAL X-T!" and the whole team that was waiting in ambush behind, quickly crowded around him, I swore he nearly peed in his pants.
It felt kinda like gangsterism, but we let him off with a stern warning. He can keep the card, but NEVER let us hear the name of Team X-T... otherwise...
Damn. I still have the bracelet that we made for X-T members.

| Yo guys. Went to Tampines Mall Timezone to play recently...finally maxed out my tuning for my Supra. And got imo an amazing timing for me.
Supra Akagi UH - 2'53'5xx (Tuning 7-7-5-7-7)
For some strange reason, I think 2'52 is not out of the question for me. And Tampines's machines are so much better than in Yishun's...sigh.
Got a RX-7 Type RS as my third car. It feels ok, handling somewhere in between my 86L and Supra...=)
001. XTREME / usually play at Great World
002. STRMFX / AMK Hub... maybe Atrium
003. HERON / Yishun Timezone

| Team X-T disbanded due to many personal reasons, mainly that members were going into new and important stages in their lives, such as NS, settling down with GF bla bla bla. Yep, we're quite 'old' already. A few members of our team are already married.
The only ones left playing are those in Team Ny3oC. We were invited by the then leader of Ny, commonly known as Ah Sad to join the team. It was under a lot of pressure. Believe me.
Even now, I don't play that often. Have to juggle the finances between the real thing and school fees, and whatever stuff that's needed for the academic years ahead.
Will upload more pictures from one of the most (or already THE MOST) successful team/s in SG ID history. Need to get 'em from my old HDD.

i don't hate noobs cos i'm just like them and yeah i know your feeling but i think i got a worst situation.. One fine day my friend and i went to Tampines that arcade don't know call what but is using coin 1 not TimeZone.. called cs? something like that.
I wanna try MT with my friend's card, i purposely wait until very little people liao than play cos i scared i lost my concentration and bang all the way than i think there was this kid too short standing behind me and i didn't notice after i play finish i heard he say to his friend "this guy damn noob sia" i ji tao swiftly turn my head over (wanna give him a stare) and i saw a kid pointing his finger at me=.=!!! i saw until kid sia.. what can i do? i act blur lor "huh? what you say just now?" DAMN IT!!! I'M ANGRY!!! how can like that say people 1? he never noob before meh? i believe he still primary school kids (his height is about the MT's seat). If he adult i confirm tell him to watch his words and tell him str8 in his face "you never noob before?"
This story is to tell you been say by adult and kids got BIG BIG differences.. say by kids is DAMN embarrasing and of cos i watched him play la see how PRO he is.. Indeed he is better than me but i still don't see pro-ness in him that allow him to judge people.
