(side note: im not 100% sure that these are alloy wheels, but from the gt-s spec sheet, it seems like it...but how would i be able to tell for certain?) Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand) |

Sand it with a 240 wet and dry or maybe 150 depending how bad. Might need filling, p38 is good stuff. Sand again. Move upto 500s, then 1200s, prime, might need flatting with a 2000. Get some ally paint colour of your choice and then clear coat. G3 it, wax it, jobs a gooden! This post has been edited by osakaboy on May 15 2010, 05:54 AM |

First person to even try explaining a procedure to the guy. This thread makes me want to give my wheels some attention. Not that they're in any kind of poor shape right now. |

I guess you're not well versed in unwritten forum protocol? You don't bump ancient threads, especially current issue threads, it's considered cluttersome. The dude got his answer and was done, not to mention he made 12 posts and never came back, there's no way he's ever going to read that. But if that's the attitude you're going to have when someone tells you off for "coming to the rescue" 7 months too late, I'm sure you'll last a long time around here.

i'm back ...and reading...just fyi osakaboy, i appreciate your input, regardless of time delay, haha anyhow, since this thread has been resurrected, i figured i would just post a pic of what i ended up doing to my wheels (see attachment) given the awful state that they started off in, im definitely satisfied w/how they turned out using only meguiar's all wheel cleaner and permatex wheel restoration kit i figure theyre really not worth putting more effort in, since i might as well just get new rims anyways (if anyone is looking to offload a set of lighter-weight 17" 5x100s, let me know) This post has been edited by aznjasonazn on May 16 2010, 09:26 AM Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand)

It most certainly is not... But sarcastic posts like that get taken the wrong way around here all the time, so you have to watch yourself.
