Well yeah, but that's just a fan project, it's almost guaranteed that the trademark owner would come down on it and get it closed, despite the project getting approval from Kojima. For me, I am surprised that Konami never got Kojima's team to re-make it or to outsource it.

Maybe it would be, then again it's not like Metal Gear 1 was what got the series popular in the West, that would be Metal Gear Solid 1. Btw, now that I am thinking about it, is the remake you mentioned above, was it the Metal Gear Solid 1? I remember there being a fan who re-made some parts of Metal Gear Solid 1 and had to shut it down.

I had two physical copies from the collector's edition, as it came with a standard copy as well as a steelbook that just contained the bonus disk. I sold the standard a while back, which happened to have the one game disk that I had. I've always played the game digitally, so I didn't realize that I was selling the only playable physical copy when I had two game boxes... |

One of the pleasant surprises I got when I played it for the first time. Granted, I cut Metal Gear some slack because it was the first installment. From what I saw in the TPP mission 51 video, it reminded me of MGS3 but on steroids with the jungle terrain. I'd imagine some of the traps would have been trickier to spot too. |

That was fast. Looking forward to what comes of this. I'm glad he won't be locked into MGS anymore as ZOE was really fantastic too. I'd love see more of his ideas that he couldn't explore now that he's not locked into making MGS games all the time.

To be honest I am surprised he didn't go indie way before all the problems with Konami that happened over this past year. |

Once new releases dry up again, I'll be back into it like the US in the Middle East. |

If you think this is burying the series then wait until they go full pachinko. Btw anyone else listen to the recent Game Informer podcast focusing on the cast of Metal Gear Solid 1? It was a pretty cool retrospective on the whole process that led to the development of the English voice work on the first game. It also had a part, towards the end of the episode, where David Hayter reflects on the stuff with MGS 5. He mentions how he only found out they were replacing him as Big Boss when he happened to run into a producer from the series and had lunch with them; which was later confirmed in full by the MGS casting director (she's also in the podcast too!). That's not the only thing, Kojima wanted to replace him going back to MGS3 and how he had to re-audition for the role pretty much since MGS3. The thing I find to be a little weird is how people are complaining that Hayter is being salty about the fallout of him not being rehired for the role, yet the Japanese voice actor voiced Solid, Naked and Venom Snake throughout the entire franchise.
