QUOTE (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-12-07/musical-group-m.o.v.e-to-break-up-next-march-after-15-years)
The musical group m.o.v.e announced on Saturday on its website that it will break up after a live Tokyo concert on March 16, 2013. The group had planned to release a best-of album on December 19 to mark the duo's 15th anniversary (which came on October 1), but it was abruptly delayed on November 26 "due to various circumstances."

The renamed Best moves. ~and moves goes on~ album is now scheduled for February 27. It will now have five new songs, and people who buy the album will be given free passes to the final concert, "m.o.v.e The Last Show ~Champagne Fight~," in March.

The group consisted of vocalist Yuri, rapper motsu, and t-kimura as their former producer. They made their debut in 1997 and have since released 31 singles and 11 original albums. The group is best known in anime for its work on Initial D, but it also performed on the soundtracks for Ikki Tousen, Final Fantasy: Unlimited, and Asobotto Senki Goku. It just contributed the opening and ending theme songs for Initial D Fifth Stage sequel.

Well this is sad news. When "Raise Up" was released, I really thought "man, they still have it." I was really excited for great new material for the future, but I guess that's not really happening. I wish I could be at that final show.

Thanks, m.o.v.e., for all the memorable tunes. You guys always have and always will hold a special place on my music shelf.

They came to Singapore for Anime Festival Asia 2012, and they sang quite a few songs

Now that this news came up, i will always treasure the moment i got to hear them perform Raise Up, Gamble Rumble and Dogfight in a live concert

This is pretty sad although I was barely interested in them. But I like their songs anyway.

Very sad news, especially since i've been listening to and watching ALOT of their music and videos lately. Then again after a successful 15 year run I can't ask for anything more from them. Who knows, we may see them again a few more years down the track

Really digging this performance at the moment of one of my fave songs

Wow. I never thought this would happen anytime soon. I always thought that they'll be together again for a very long time. But, there was also a sign of this happening... no new "albums" per se for a good while and it seemed to be only anime remixes too. motsu has been in side projects too like Altima (which both singles has been used has Ending in the anime Shakugan no Shana III Finale).

Oh man... I'll be sure to grab a copy of this "best of" sometime...

Sad news indeed. Both we do not know yet what they will accomplish as single artists. I hope they will remain true to their music genre.

Well, I guess it's the perfect time to move on because it's been 15 years and they have done more than enough.

Yet arguably the best band of all time, The Beatles, were only together for 10 years. whistling.gif

Strike On was and still is my favorite track of theirs.

Cross the X is also amazing. Jumped to #2 on my list very quickly.

Fixed that for you. tongue.gif

Just look to Big Black: only together for 6 years yet becoming one of the most influential bands in rock music history.

I'm not quite sure who Yuri married to, because the Internet didn't mention lol, but I mean if Yuri is married to someone unknown, then I think Motsu would feel a little bit weird to partner with Yuri, so he group up with ALTIMA. And therefore, they need to disband this M.O.V.E?
