In other words my tuning shop (or thread, if you prefer), where I'll post some of my better tuning projects for you all to see, test and hopefully review. Currently we're aiming at setting up cars for Trial Mountain, however they work well on other tracks. Our settings are mainly for cars with 300-400bhp on S3 tyres, however its been shown that some of our settings work on cars with a lot more power. Our current line-up: ATD NSX-R Evo.II (scroll further down this post) ATD/Tom's Chaser X540 (scroll further down this post) ATD R33 GT-R (scroll further down this post) ATD GTO (scroll further down this post) ATD Impreza Prodrive (click here) ATD Lancer TME (click here) Current projects in progress: None Thanks to: FinToy - For helping with the name and providing a few base settings to work with Sweeper - For sharing ghosts and helping me improve as a driver Polyphony Digital - For making GT4 in the first place --- ATD NSX-R Evo.II (Honda NSX Type R ’02) Where to buy: Japan > Honda > New Cars Parts installed: Sports exhaust / air filter Racing brakes kit Brake controller Stage 1 NA tuning Port Polish Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel Variable LSD Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wing Wheels BHP: 356bhp (results may vary, this car has a good few miles on it) Weight: 1079kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 3 R: 4 Suspension Spring rate – F: 10.0 R: 7.5 Ride height – 83 all round Damper bounce – F: 9 R: 7 Damper rebound – F: 9 R: 7 Camber angle – F: 1.0 R: 1.5 Toe angle – F: -2 R: 0 Stabiliser – F: 7 R: 6 Gearbox Auto settings - 15 1st gear – 3.133 2nd gear – 2.073 3rd gear – 1.498 4th gear – 1.136 5th gear – 0.905 6th gear – 0.794 Final – 4.235 AIDS NONE! Downforce Downforce – F: 20 R: 19 LSD Initial torque – 20 LSD acceleration – 40 LSD deceleration – 10 Comments: Originally made for the IDW BMI event, this NSX-R was created under the RSI banner. Originally packing 350bhp, the NSX-R was already an exceptionally fast car, lapping faster than cars with over 500bhp. The power then grew to 356bhp with the aid of a sports exhaust. A suspension overhaul created this, the Evo.II. Now, under the ATD banner, the NSX-R is set for a new life. Easily our fastest car, the downforce and the NSX’s natural good handling are a perfect combination, add in ATD’s tuning process, and you know you have a winner. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’30.306 Special comments: This NSX-R also holds an exceptionally fast laptime on Costa di Amalfi, clocking a 1’59.681. --- ATD/Tom’s Chaser X540 (Tom’s X540 Chaser ‘00) Where to buy: Tuning Cars > Tom’s > Full model Parts installed: Racing exhaust & air filter Racing brakes kit Brake controller Port Polish Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel Variable LSD Carbon driveshaft Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wheels BHP: 361bhp Weight: 1266kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 4 R: 5 Suspension Spring rate – F: 17.0 R: 13.0 Ride height – F: 89 R: 96 Damper bounce – 10 all round Damper rebound – 10 all round Camber angle – F: 2.0 R: 1.5 Toe angle – F: -2 R: 0 Stabiliser – F: 7 R: 6 Gearbox Auto settings - 14 1st gear – 2.777 2nd gear – 1.788 3rd gear – 1.261 4th gear – 0.943 5th gear – 0.747 Final – 3.727 AIDS: NONE! LSD Initial torque – 10 LSD acceleration – 50 LSD deceleration – 20 Comments: The Tom’s X540 Chaser is already a very good, all round car. However ATD still felt the need to tweak it further, boosting its potential 10-fold. Not only does it handle and go like a sports car, but it can also give more powerful saloons a run for their money. This is a very easy to drive car with a very all-round set-up, perfect for getting to know a track. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’34.511 Special comments: You’ve just got to love the taillights of this Chaser! --- ATD R33 GT-R (Nissan Skyline GT-R ‘97) Where to buy: Used cars (Late 90’s) Parts installed: Racing brakes kit Brake controller Port Polish Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel Carbon driveshaft Stage 1 turbine kit Large racing intercooler Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wheels BHP: 390bhp Weight: 1269kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 3 R: 5 Suspension Spring rate – F: 9.0 R: 8.0 Ride height – 96 all round Damper bounce – 7 all round Damper rebound – 7 all round Camber angle – F: 3.0 R: 1.0 Toe angle – F: -3 R: 0 Stabiliser – 6 all round Gearbox Auto settings - 13 1st gear – 3.300 2nd gear – 2.250 3rd gear – 1.650 4th gear – 1.250 5th gear – 1.010 6th gear – 0.880 Final – 4.100 AIDS: NONE! Comments: Out of the R32, 33 and 34, the R33 is considered “soft” against its 2 brothers. Often neglected by tuners in favour of the newer R34, or the classic R32. ATD decided to give the R33 a chance, and gave it an extensive tune up, resulting in many hours constantly lapping, tuning, tweaking, and more lapping. The end result is a R33, which can keep up with R34’s and R32’s, and with 390bhp, outgun them too. Perhaps one of the most surprising thing about this R33 is the fact it’s a normal GT-R, and not the V-Spec. Tests showed that the base GT-R, actually handles better than its V-Spec brother. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’33.463 Special comments: A 560bhp Nismo 400R has been given this R33’s settings, and as a result, has become an extremely fast machine (constant 1’29’s at Trial Mountain), with minimal understeer despite tyres and power. --- ATD GTO (Pontiac GTO 5.7 Coupe ‘04) Where to buy: America > Pontiac > New Cars Parts installed: Racing brakes kit Brake controller Port Polish Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel Variable LSD Carbon driveshaft Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wheels BHP: 385bhp Weight: 1402kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 3 R: 4 Suspension Spring rate – F: 10.0 R: 8.0 Ride height – 86 all round Damper bounce – F: 7 R: 8 Damper rebound – F: 7 R: 8 Camber angle – F: 3.0 R: 3.5 Toe angle – F: -2 R: 0 Stabiliser – F: 7 R: 6 Gearbox Auto settings - 15 1st gear – 3.000 2nd gear – 2.000 3rd gear – 1.450 4th gear – 1.100 5th gear – 0.900 6th gear – 0.750 Final – 3.550 AIDS: NONE! LSD Initial torque – 15 LSD acceleration – 35 LSD deceleration – 5 Comments: Don’t think just because this is a Pontiac its going to handle like a boat. The Pontiac GTO is in fact the Holden Monaro with a more subtle bumper arrangement. ATD found one of these for sale whilst visiting the US, and imported one over. The LS1 was given a power hike to 385bhp, and despite the heavy weight, it became our fastest non-downforce car on Trial Mountain. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’33.355 Special comments: Another case of awesome taillights! This post has been edited by VTiRoj on Jan 24 2008, 11:41 AM |

Don't worry about any copying thing there, I bet you had been introduced to Mad FinnTuners Co.™ as you mentioned FinToy-83 in the helper list. I think I'll upgrade my "Amuse" to a full race version some day, the sports one is good but it can undoubtedly take more. In other words... now you know who's the other guy running MFT on the side of FinToy-83 aka Leonidae and I hope you remember me from the Top Gear saloon challenge. Co-incidental twins? Oh I remember you, all too well... you and that Impreza While I'm here, I should post the 2 remaining cars that need to be posted. --- ATD Impreza Prodrive (Subaru Impreza WRX Sti Prodrive Style (GD, Type-I) ‘01) Where to buy: Used cars (Late 90’s) Parts installed: Racing brakes kit Brake controller Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel Carbon driveshaft Stage 1 turbine kit Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wheels BHP: 360bhp Weight: 1215kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 5 R: 3 Suspension Spring rate – F: 8.0 R: 10.0 Ride height – F: 99 R: 119 Damper bounce – 8 all round Damper rebound – 8 all round Camber angle – F: 3.0 R: 3.0 Toe angle – F: -2 R: 0 Stabiliser – F: 7 R: 6 Gearbox Auto settings - 15 1st gear – 3.289 2nd gear – 2.202 3rd gear – 1.603 4th gear – 1.223 5th gear – 0.980 6th gear – 0.823 Final – 3.900 AIDS: NONE! Comments: The “Ugly Duckling” of the GD Imprezas, the so called “bug-eyes”. The negative reaction from customers and the media towards the new style made Subaru facelift the Impreza, giving it better headlights to please the masses. However, before its short life ended, Prodrive saw fit to bless the Impreza with their usual blend of rally car-esque styling packages and bringing out more performance out of the base Impreza. We found this ex-demo car for sale, and bought it right away. Immediately taking it to a bare shell, before rebuilding it, better than before. Upon completion, we tested this car for hours, trying to draw its maximum potential out. With some help from FinToy from MFT, who have past experience with Imprezas, we managed to create a very fast Impreza, with rapid acceleration. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’34.461 Special comments: Rapid 1st and 2nd gear acceleration, insane amounts of grip, the perfect competitor for the ATD Lancer TME. --- ATD Impreza TME (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR Tommi Makinen Edition ‘00) Where to buy: Used cars (Late 90’s) Parts installed: Racing brakes kit Brake controller Engine Balancing Racing chip Transmission / Fully customisable Triple clutch Racing Flywheel AYC LSD Carbon driveshaft Stage 1 turbine kit Fully customisable suspension Sports / Soft tyres (S3) VCD Controller Weight reduction: stage 3 Increase Rigidity Body Rigidity Refresher Plan Wheels BHP: 361bhp Weight: 1156kg Settings: Brake balance Brake balance – F: 3 R: 5 Suspension Spring rate – F: 5.5 R: 5.0 Ride height – 100 all round Damper bounce – 8 all round Damper rebound – 8 all round Camber angle – F: 3.0 R: 1.0 Toe angle – F: -2 R: 0 Stabiliser – F: 6 R: 6 Gearbox Auto settings - 10 1st gear – 2.711 2nd gear – 1.872 3rd gear – 1.387 4th gear – 1.076 5th gear – 0.873 6th gear – 0.743 Final – 4.300 AIDS: NONE! LSD Initial torque – 35 LSD acceleration – 30 LSD deceleration – 5 AYC Controller AYCC – 75 Variable Center Diff. Controller Variable Center Differential – 20 Comments: Celebrating Tommi Makinen’s success with Mitsubish in the WRC, Mitsubishi made this special edition EvoVI in his name. Featuring a new front bumper, 17” Enkei wheels and lower suspension, the TME is a very good car out the box. Yet this didn’t stop ATD from giving it a tweak. Power was increased, suspension was lowered more, and an adjustable AYC controller makes this Evo a very fast saloon and very easy to drive. Trial Mountain laptime: 1’34.379 Special comments: Slower acceleration than the ATD Impreza Prodrive, but softer springs make it an easier car to drive fast, hence the fraction faster laptime. |
