I agree. If the Borderlands studio is working on this, it'll be a good game. But to me it looked like another Halo clone. Too much stopping and thinking, not enough grabbing the nearest gun and dropping alien bastards like bowling pins. I'm still f**king ecstatic that it's finally going to be here. The franchise needs it. I just hope they include a little more DOUK and less HAAH-WAAW.

Eh, it's a demo for a game that is scheduled for late 2011. There's plenty of time to add floods of enemies and more gratuitous awesome.

Agreed wholeheartedly. By then it should be all out of gum.

Bringing it back, since Gearbox released an actual trailer for the game, AND a release date of May 3rd in the US (May 6 everywhere else).

Spoiler'd for obviously mature visuals and Duke's potty mouth.

LOL! That trailer brought back so many memories of playing Duke Nukem 3D and all the add-ons, MODs and TCs I could get my hands on. I even dabbled alittle with the level editor cause I had the atomic edition.

It looks like Gearbox is really pushing the M rating with this one, too. That makes me smile. It just wouldn't be Duke without copious nudity and swearing while blowing shit up.

I've only played 3 hours worth so far and this is my thoughts so far.

What the hell is with the loading times? It's the same, if not longer than the demo loading times! When you die, you are faced with a cute cracked glass, which brings you back into the loading screen, where it must load the map again. It can get very annoying. Feels like Gran Turismo all over again.

While i don't mind playing bad graphical games, i do mind having lag issues. I don't like it when the screen starts skipping while I'm trying to aim. Playing it off the Xbox360 (with HDD installed), i would expect it to be MUCH MORE smooth considering how long it took to make the game.

Anyways, enough about my rants, lets talk about the game.

I really enjoy it actually, how you can blast the shit out of pigs 10m away with a shotgun. That is some accurate shit :3. You'll notice that you have this ego bar, which is like your armor. If it depletes, you can wait for a couple of seconds, and it'll start recharging. There isn't much dismemberment which is unfortunate, but it's MUCH MORE bloodier than what we've seen in the demo.

Duke has alot of quotes that are pretty funny. He can do the most funniest stuff at the near start of the game (i won't ruin it, you just gotta play it).

I noticed that the AI can get pretty retarded at times. A pig who is from the other side of the map, but then teleports somehow to be behind you and just rape you. Most of the time when the AI fires a bullet, it has a 100% accuracy to hit you unless you are moving. That can get pretty annoying.

The boss battles? Not gonna ruin it, i've only done 2 so far (according to the achievements, there are a fair few), but i can say that they are hella fun.

The thing that i don't like about this game, is the highlighted doors. Duke Nukem 3D was all about solving it yourself to progress, this game pretty much tells you where you have to go, and that takes away the fun.

So despite the lag issues and the loading times (and minor graphical errors), Duke Nukem forever is a pretty alright game. If you liked Duke Nukem 3D, and don't mind having two weapons only (like CoD style), get it.

Tested it on Xbox360 installed on HDD. Only played some SP, no MP as of yet.

Tessou: when i say its garbage on facebook, i mean the AI can kill you so easily, it's ridiculous.

Well I've been reading posts and reviews from other folks that got the game, and the consensus is that it feels unpolished and old. I'm starting to wonder just why the game was released ahead of street date and ahead of published reviews... Typically this happens when the game is terrible and publishers want to get people buying it before magazines and news outlets begin giving it bad reviews (and tanking sales).

Honestly I'm not expecting the best game in the world, because Duke never has been. So long as it's solid, I'll be happy with it.

Well I've done this proper and played the game where it originally and should have belonged in the first place; the PC. As much as people moaning about the long load times in the console versions, the PC version loads considerably fast in my opinion. Hell, even my flight simulator from 2001 loads longer than this game.

Maybe it's just me being used to long load times, or people being impatient on the loading screens. 2 hours into the gameplay, and I'm still unfazed by the load times here.

By my standards, it's one of those love/hate games. I love the parts where you'd go guns blazing or get physical with the enemies. The one I hate would be the puzzles of course. The easier ones are all right, but the ones that require finding stuff while trying to fend off the enemies does get on my nerves from time to time. But then again, most games are like that when it comes to puzzle sequences. As for the platforming while shrunk? Reminds me of Crash Bandicoot, but in 1st person.

My only other annoyance would be some minor stuttering occurring at random. Still configuring my Nvidia settings though. Framerate at best for me was around 65-120fps, depending on how much chaos is going on.
