It's the language for Philippines

Posted by: driftshift Dec 29 2006, 09:03 PM
Yeah tagalog is for the phillipines and i dont think there was ever a tagalog version of initial d cus when i went there i watched animax and it was in japanese blink.gif

Posted by: char Dec 29 2006, 10:14 PM
it is the language for the Northen region of the Phillippines
I believe the Official Language for the whole of the Phillippines is English (American) seeing it was administered by the USA from about 1900 untill they became independend

Posted by: khaos_fc Dec 30 2006, 02:33 AM
yeah, the good ol animax days of id fourth stage.... wish they just dubbed it in pure english.... laugh.gif fourth stage was actually dubbed here in filipino-english.... so, it seems too conio for me, (some filipinos can relate....)

~nice drift pare!!~

Posted by: Crackster Jan 7 2007, 01:14 PM
the official language is Filipino(Tagalog), English is secondary...

filipino is the more formal term...

and pls, dont wish for a dubbed version of ID, i dont want to see another catastrophe like slam dunk and prince of tennis...

Slam Dunk was kind of nice in Tagalog smile.gif

Prince of Tennis? It's king of ok too. The disaster was the Filipino translation of Zipang...blech!

My bro was able to watch the Tagalized version og Project D and he was also saying that the producers should have dubbed it in English.

Even if it is angel, you still can't see her face on initial d

haha!! seriously they should have chose another voice actress for kyoko.... oh well, there's nothing we could do now... dry.gif but having initial d in philippines would probably set new trends here.... c'mon, drifting is already starting to gain popularity here!! grin2.gif

The tagalog version of initial d was just rubbish. hearing angel locsin saying ke-su-ke it was just so awful, how I wish they just inserted subs for it.

Posted by: rlan214 Jan 16 2007, 02:45 PM
so there is a tagalog version of initial d .... kinda want to hear it

Posted by: khaos_fc Jan 16 2007, 11:37 PM
err.... its not dubbed in pure filipino though.... it was dubbed in english-filipino so that other terms are maintained.... you wouldn't like it if you hear it.... pinch2.gif

What did they about tofu anyway? Haven't seen that one yet.

Imagine Takumi saying: "Nag-dedeliver lang ako ng tokwa"... Damn, it sounds cheap.

Posted by: Smiley_DC2 Jan 17 2007, 02:41 AM
he could always deliver taho, which is pretty much tofu/bean curd anyways right grin2.gif

laugh.gif Smiley! You know "Taho"?

It'll be a laugh to see Takumi shouting "Taho" while driving the AE86!

Geeez...I can hear the Tagalog dubbed Initial D now:

Bunta: Takumi, umaga na! Oras na para ihatid mo itong TOKWA sa hotel"

Takumi: OPO! Bwiset na matanda to oh...natutulog ka pa nga..."

laugh.gif

Fujiwara Taho Delivery. I wonder how that would look on the hachiroku?

Posted by: Smiley_DC2 Jan 17 2007, 10:55 AM
Hell yeah, I love Taho! My mom hasn't made it in such a long time though .. sad.gif

Oooh don't forget the syrup and sago balls too! whistling.gif

p.s. there is no way anyone could hear Takumi shouting "Taho! .... Taho! ...." over the AE86's racing engine! My friend has a replica 86 here in Sydney with the engine and damn that thing is loud even when its idle

Posted by: gian7675 Jan 18 2007, 09:29 AM
twitchycum: actually bro, it can also read "Fuiwara Tokwa Delivery" More cheap! laugh.gif

And no, I didn't get to buy any while I was there.

Why weren't you able to buy some? No passing vendors of Taho?

The 86 is loud? Wow. There is also a replica here in the Philippines (hadn't seen it though) and nobody has mentioned that it's a loud car...probably not an exact replica though smile.gif

I had some taho as well. Creamy.

The roads in Bohol and Kalibo are totally Initial D-worthy. When i was on those tour buses, I so wanted my DC5. Those curves and drops were begging to be driven on.

Actually Angel Locsin(Kyoko Iwase's first dubber) decided to leave the dubbing duties to another dubber cause she's busy on her show, the dubber that replaced her was a legit dubber(her name was Klarizz).Keisuke's dubber in the Animax taglish version is also a dubber in animes like Chrono Crusade and Rockman EXE(i forgot the name of that dubber).

The reason why Animax decided to use taglish dubs on Initial D 4th Stage cause they used this one to shake or tease Hero TV's launch in October 2005 and use it as a promotional gimmick(think FHM...)..Today Initial D animes on Animax are in english sadly the dubs was horrible than the taglish version according to some fans..

I've heard that the tagalized version of Initial D will be aired very soon on QTV 11 in the Philippines but this time it will be dubbed by the same group who handled Slam Dunk and Peacemaker...

Yup boogiecat, I never said that they'll translate "Tofu" into "Taho" in my post. wink2.gif

Anyway, it's kind of weird seeing Anime's from QTV suddenly being aired in HeroTV. and vice versa. I wonder what's the arrangement with both Hero and QTV. One example is Last Exile.

oh god, I want to see this. And yeah, it's actually more like tokwa but since the tofu takumi delivers is more like taho, it would be funny to call takumi a "mantataho". yucky.gif it doesn't suit him.

sounds weird if they changed the word "Mount" into "Bundok" hahahaha LOLZ Bundok akina or Bundok akagi

Posted by: twitchykun Feb 17 2007, 11:36 AM
Bundok Akina...

I kinda like the sound of it. And i could go for a creamy Taho right now.

So i guess the towns would become Barangays, right? Wait, is that the plural of Barangay? Or is it Barangii?

Posted by: DamienWolf Feb 17 2007, 11:39 AM
Nope. Plural is Barangays. You Filipino too, twitchy?

Posted by: aiman15 Apr 1 2007, 02:22 AM
Hillarious or not. It is still other people's language n we have to respect it.

Sometimes i feel the dub is not suitable n it is better in subtitles.

In Malaysia, at least one version was OK but still weird.

they called TAkumi = Tok Hoi

The now version in Malaysia is crazy.

Takumi is Tok Hai

I was WTF !?

Mostly, in malaysia when we dub cartoons the Japanese name (or any name) will always be the same but this time is MAD.

Posted by: mark4000 Apr 6 2007, 09:14 AM
OMG. Being a Filipino myself, I just can't help but ROFLMAO at this thread.

Fujiwara Taho Delivery

LOL!

Anyways, I feel VERY BAD that Animax treated 4th Stage as nothing more than a teaser to HERO TV. It's so offending to me for some reason. Even the English dubbing of 1st stage sucked!

I have to admit though. I actually kept saying "WTF?!" and LMAO during the entire time I was watching the very first episode of 4th stage.

BTW. A triple LOL to "Bundok Akina"! laugh.gif

If you ask most people here in the Philippines what's the first thing that comes to their mind when they combine "Initial D" and "Philippines" together, they'll usually say "Baguio". LOL

Yeah, it's totally sad that they had to dub 4th Stage. If you guys are complaining about Angel's version of Kyoko, what about Takumi? Matteo however-you-spell-his-lastname was even more horrible. Although, it kinda made me what to hear him say, "Oras na para magdeliver ng taho." But I'm pretty sure they said tofu.

well maybe... if hero tv made its debut on the air much much earlier, then it probably would have beaten out animax for the cable rights to air the initial d series... and maybe (just maybe), the dubbing would have been much better (and in straight filipino/tagalog of course)... ok, for me, matteo guidicelli did exert some effort to hone his tagalog-speaking skills throughout the 24 eps of ID 4th stage and angel locsin (a celeb. crush of mine) did fine in her role, but still it might have been better had hero tv beat animax to the cable rights...

Yeah. If we were to choose which one to tagalog-dub Initial D, I'd also rather pick Hero TV. they just do it ALOT better.

Although, IMO, ID is really one of those animes that you'd rather watch in original J-dub w/ subtitles.

If i wanted to watch a pinoy dubbed anime, Yakitate Japan will always be my choice LOL. biggrin.gif

lol I'm going back to P.I. in a week. I'm gonna have to look into this. Lol I can imagine it now, I wonder if my little cousins watched it....

But yeah, I'm used to the Japanese version with subs because the voices suited the characters perfectly. The TP one was ok with the voices however.

Yes I'm a Filipino

Posted by: kamyuz Apr 12 2007, 01:13 AM
Yeah, you've got to appreciate his effort (Angel's was pretty good though), but honestly, I'd rather have it in English. The First Stage was horrible on Animax (they sound like gangsters... mad.gif At least Nakazato does... ), but the Second Stage was pretty decent. I'm not too big on Tagalog-dubbed anime though, so I don't really support Hero too much.

but anyway what is BUNDOK ???

Posted by: brian_infinispirit Apr 12 2007, 03:49 AM
bundok = mountain in tagalog...

it would really sound silly if ever bundok would be used instead of mountain... O.o initial d seems to be one of those series that won't sound great if translated into tagalog, considering some of the technical stuff usually used in some parts...

And I totally agree with Mark4000, Ryousuke's voicer totally suited him. Takumi sounded like the 16 year old Guidicelli was then (I think...)

The second stage wasn't too bad though...

I know one of the voicers from the Tagalog dub. I think he does Keisuke-san? BTW, did you know he can do the fish-pout thing perfectly? *snickers*

Posted by: prismadiluce Apr 30 2007, 01:48 PM
I appreciate Filipino (Tagalog to be exact) anime dubs. What petrifies me in the Tagalized version of Initial D Fourth Stage is that the mood doesn't blend well and they were simply not themselves!

They looked like a rich guy showing off his fat wallet to the public (Filipino slang of conyo). grin2.gif

Yeah. I agree. My friends actually didn't mind tagalizing ID but the air of conyoness was just so suffocating everyone couldn't take it lol. pinch2.gif

and yeah, the voice actors were like sleepy airheads with a major hangover most of the time.

Posted by: Stormeye May 3 2007, 09:03 PM
...To a point, yes. And the voicer of Takumi kills me. He sounds like a prep-school boy. As in, an exclusive-school kid, not a preschooler.

*sigh* However, Filipino dubbers are well appreciated. Just that they made the wrong choice with some of the voice actors for this one. And the voicers probably didn't understand the anime too well.

He's nothing like Takumi. That's why he'll never be able to voice him properly.

Posted by: Stormeye May 7 2007, 04:55 PM
Yeah. He's too...err...well he really is a conyo, even in real life. He supposedly went to that John Robert Powers thing, that manners school. XP

But he's cute, I'll give him that. Okay, waaaaait...OT! OT!

They should have picked someone who's a bit more like the character, or at least understands his standpoint. Someone a bit less pop-culture cute and a bit more skilled. Although Mateo tries, you can see that. He tries, we have to at least give him that.

Posted by: mark4000 May 7 2007, 08:20 PM
They should've brought someone abit more "down to earth" than Mateo. That would've probably made the show abit more bearable.

are there any youtubes of this dub? I just have to hear it in tagalog. Maybe then i can get my cousins in on I-D and family get-togethers won't be as awkward.

The Filipino-English dubbing of 4th stage on animax was really disturbing cuz they could've just dubbed it in pure English instead even while retaining the voice actors (Ryosuke and Keisuke's voices fit like a charm). If they were gonna change anyway, Takumi would be the only one that should be changed, the guy sounds like a wimp.

Posted by: twitchykun May 9 2007, 04:42 AM
I want to strangle the "celebrity" that dubbed Takumi. I was waiting for these things after watching the dub:

1. A shack to explode
2. Eddie Garcia to kill someone in a church gunfight
3. Keisuke and Kyoko to make up while some random filipino song plays in the background
4. Rica Peralejo to pop up in a bikini^^.

Posted by: mark4000 May 9 2007, 04:50 AM
celebrity? lol. He was just some racer that got picked for all the wrong reasons. dry.gif

Geez. they shouldn't have picked him in the first place so I wouldn't be hating him so much right now. I curse at every billboard and poster I've seen with him on it.

Posted by: Stormeye May 9 2007, 04:52 PM
And the reason they picked him up? He's a racer. Anyway, yeah, the Takahashi brother's voices fit fine, but it should have been in English. AND NO DISSING PINOY SONGS!!! *growls* Although it would have been disturbing if Keisuke and Kyoko did make up while a random OPM romantic song ("The Closer I Get To You" by MYMP or "You'll Be Safe Here" by...err...who again?) plays in the background.

Oh yeah, and it would be horrifying if Eddie Garcia did pop up and hold a church gunfight. Only it would be a shrine gunfight, since it's Japan.

And no dissing Rica Paralejo! Although yeah, another disturbing thing.

Although we must give props to Mateo for being cute (and his hair is the model for the hair of one of mine and Kamyuz's OCs, Stefano), I do curse at any and all billboards of him. *kills billboards*

Worst. Takumi. Ever. *siiiiiigh*

Posted by: brian_infinispirit May 9 2007, 09:33 PM
well ok taglish dubbing for ID 4th stage was kinda awful for most of us... but i guess this was still better than ID 2nd stage, that was worse (takumi didn't sound sleepy and uninterested, itsuki didn't sound energetic, ryosuke didn't sound smart)...

...but so far ID 1st stage still had the best dubbing quality...

Rica Peralejo....RAWR. HAWT. *drool*

Only reason i'd go back to PI.

And i'm not bashing OPM songs, but you know that there would be one. I've sat through countless ABS-CBN dramas in the states (Pangako Sa'Yo and that one drama where the girl gets hit by a bus in the first episode), and there's always a song.

As for Eddie Garcia, there's that shrine before the Irohazaka-hop, maybe he could have a gunfight and then blow it up =P.

Actually, replace Kyoko Iwase with Rica......RAWR. HAWT.

Posted by: Stormeye May 10 2007, 08:35 PM
But Kyoko's a stalker! *complains*

Anyway...Takumi sounds too hyper. The voicer for Itsuki though...props. He's good. And Kyoko's voicer is who again...whoever she was, she was good. I know she's a celeb but I forgot which.

Ahhh... Initial D in Tagalog. I have to agree. Matteo Guidicelli is cute but please sweet God - DO NOT SPEAK. EVER. Picking him to play a sleepy, shy, diffident teenager who comes from a middle-middle class background and who probably goes to Japan's equivalent was not the most intelligent thing Animax has ever done. It was the conyotic (preppy-boy) accent that made me cringe. I'll grant you that the poor guy tried... but that's not Takumi. Takumi, for all you Western folks out there, if he were Pinoy, would probably speak regular Pinoy Taglish (that's Tagalog-English) in a typically heavy Pinoy accent. Fellow Pinoys out there will know what I mean - i.e. "this" will sound like "dis" or "the" will sound like "da" - hehehehehe. *sheepish*

Most of us do that, although I confess I slip into typical preppy-girl Tagalog-English sometimes - it's usual for kids who've grown up in the States and/or who've grown up watching American cartoons and shows like I did (Sesame Street - yay!). So the accent will be a little better when we speak English words.

Now Ryosuke and Keisuke with the conyo accents made more sense - they're rich and that's kinda typical for them.

As for the Animax English dubs - Takumi and the rest of the gang sounded okay, except for Nakazato, who for some reason DOES sound like he stepped out of a bad Italian gangster movie. What the heck is up with that?! Oy vei....

AGREED!!! And yes, agree with the fact that 4th Stage Bunta was v. good. And yeah...Mateo sounded to little-boy-shy to me, not disillusioned teen. If Animax had to hire Mateo...*hmm*...Chronicle of The Wings - Mokona.

But that's just me, ha ha.

The Animax English dubs actually did good for the IniD series...unlike some other animes which left us in fits of terror.

And no dissing preppy-girl looniness! Although I have kanto-girl/bisaya accented tagalog. *siiiiigh*

But Kyoko's voicer was good though. Angel Locsin, di ba?

Hey! Bwahahaha - I used to belong to the preppy-girl speaking tribe. Still do. I grew up with that - goshdarnit! What 16 years of private Catholic girls' school in the Philippines will do to ya, eh?

I am guilty of saying variations of "making tusok-tusok the fishball" even if I do NOT come from the private girls' school that is said to be the source of that infamous phrase. Hehe. I went to the rival school. tongue.gif

Personally, I rather liked EVERYBODY in 4th Stage Initial D in Tagalog EXCEPT for Matteo. Because I always imagined Ryosuke (yeah, I have a crush on him too, doesn't everyone?) and Keisuke to talk thataway if they were Pinoys. And no problem with Angel Locsin - dubbing for Kyoko is a no-brainer kinda role.

Matteo could do Mokona. BWAHAHAHAHA! Maybe for the Mokona in Rayearth as well. smile2.gif

If there was one thing the Animax English dubs did right was that THEY. RETAINED. THE. EUROBEAT. I could live with the whole censoring Mogi being a 'ho thing. But for me, Tokoyopop's biggest crime was removing the Eurobeat and replacing it with that godawful crap that passed for music.

Thankfully, my own version of Preppy crap is more of the International School preppy crap. biggrin.gif As in BIG ENGLISH WORDS mixed with Filipino. I am such a show-off weirdo.

Yes, I think everyone (including guys) has a crush on Ryosuke-san. *blush, blush, grin* But unlike the fangirls rumored to appear in the manga and anime, I'm hot...well, compared to them anyway. And that isn't very hard to be, seeing as most of the fangirls in the Manga/Anime seem to resemble Itsuki.

Urgh.

I remember the TokyoPop music...I want to vomit. Initial D - Pinoy Stage (wahahaha) is singularly responsible for the wave of disco-like sweet sixteens featuring Eurobeat dance music. And some proms too! biggrin.gif Rock on! biggrin.gif

And Hip-hop = showing off a "pimped" ride, not racing it. Rock...you'll slam yourself into the wall. Eurobeat (and little cousin Techno...wahahaha!) is purr-fect for racing. The beat gets you going and keeps your adrenalin up.

And the bad English makes us all snicker. "KING OF FRUITY POWER!!"

Yes, Mateo could do Mokona...or the youngest boy in ex-D. Yeah, that's it. That's absolutely perfect. biggrin.gif

And we all cheer for Bunta's voicer! *cheer! cheer! cheer!* Oh, and I actually believe the mixing of English with Filipino ("taglish") makes Fourth Stage a bit more believable. But that's just me.

Yeah, I agree that the kyodai's VAs fit them. I just don't sit well with Ryousuke saying "Pare". I just don't see it. But I do notice that the script is a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle better in the later eps than when it first began. I mean, bumaba ang coño level ng konti. Konti

Yah, let's include that mysterious friend of Natsuki's who let Takumi on all the dirty dish...hee hee.

Wow, this is turning into a M/Whr Comp. We better get back on topic soon!

Posted by: tiQlado May 24 2007, 05:17 AM
*Ahem* So in a nutshell, this is what I think what most of the characters sound like in Taglish version:

Tomo -- sounds lalakwe-ish
Fumihiro -- sounds like he isn't done with puberty yet
Takumi -- sounds like he's forever stuck in puberty
Itsuki -- sounds like he'll never get to puberty
Kyodai -- Coño Kings
Sudo -- sounds like a dirty old man

One other thing. What's with "bro"? Can't they simply use "kuya"? Kasumi called Wataru that. It's not really common.

Despite all these, though, I still try to catch Coño Stage--er, the Taglish version. Lets my eyes take a break from switching between the subtitles and looking at the characters' expressions. And it'll almost be over, and I missed tonight's ep on Animax. I hate the satellite TV here in the office... mad.gif

Draw the Sailor Taku-chan.... DRAAAAAAWWWWW EEEET! You know you want to. laugh.gif

And then share it with the rest of us. Sige na. Please please pretty please?

Sigh. My ideal Taglish Initial D would be:

a. Keisuke - guy who would sound like he goes to DLSU. Or DLSU-CSB. Hehehehhehe. Go Green Archers! tongue.gif

b. Ryosuke - Ateneo guy. Period. I know UST is our Pinoy med school but still...

c. Bunta - perfect as he is in the Taglish anime.

d. Takumi - Taku-chan and the Matteo Disaster aside, I'd imagine Takumi's voice-over talent to be closer to his Japanese counterpart. Laid-back, low voice, diffident, very NR - no reaction. Hm. Maybe that guy who did Hiei (Vincent) in our Tagalog dub of Yu Yu Hakusho (Ghost Fighter)? Or the Tagalog Steve in Voltes V?

ARGH. Initial D Cono stage. Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!

And yes, the whole "bro" thing is ANNOYING. Keisuke calls Ryosuke "Aniki" - it's not as if he calls ANYONE else Aniki. So it's KUYA, goshdarnit! mad.gif

Besides, Ryosuke makes one HOT Kuya. Ehehehehehe. wink2.gif

I am less easily shocked. Believe me, I've read Takumi/Ryosuke/Keisuke. It's less shocking when it's three. And two semes to boot.

Teka, teka! Ano uunahin ko? Si Sailor Taku-chan, o round-robin?

Methinks we need to put up a new topic or something, else this thread gets overrun with fruitloopiness. laugh.gif I-carry over na lang yung sinimulan?

EDIT: Any suggestions for the title? Mine would be: "Initial D: Fruity Coño Stage. Ang telenovela ng buhay kareristang juding."

As per Stormeye and dark_stitch's request: Sailor Taku-chan!

Ehehehe, T3chn0Magus - I'll read yaoi fanfics if they're well-written but I'm not about to promote them here - rules being the rules. laugh.gif

Still, Initial D does have a lot of moments of fruitiness, especially with the Kenta thing. Poking fun/pointing out the whole homoerotic subtext is just soooo much fun.

Going back OT, I have to admit na super-kilig ako when I heard Ryosuke in his Taglish version. Haaaay. Bagay na bagay. *swoons*

Hay... There is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be considered the hottest character in the Taglish 4th Stage...

Only the "pare..." threw him off.

"Ambilis! Ikaw na yata ang pinaka mabilis na tao sa balat ng lupa!" [WIDE EYE MODE]

Nyahahahahah~! laugh.gif

Caught Act 22 last Friday and this morning. Is it just me, or the dialogue has gotten better? I mean, 'di na siya ganun ka-coño. Still, Takumi's voice is cringe-worthy. Lumalabas ang accent niya pag straight Tagalog ang lines niya.

"Ano ba itong nakakainis na tensyon na 'to? Ito 'yung nararamdaman ko 'pag nagda-drive ang sera-olong matanda sa Emprreza!"

I've really got nothing against the accent and all. Kung si Bunta may punto, at least alam nating parang inherent sa character yun, at di sa VA. tongue.gif

And Ryosuke, the damn hunk of a man, has better lines too! Nade-coñofied na rin! w00t2.gif

Too bad that they made these changes only when 4th Stage was winding down. But oh, well. There's still the subs.

@ Stormeye: Frooty Power Stage? As long as we clearly define that there'll be no yaoi, safe na tayo dun (how folks will keep it that way will be a real challenge!). Just plain poking fun at our characters. Of course, di rin ligtas si Hot!Damn!Ryosuke... fear2.gif

EDIT: About the Coño Stage inducing nightmares. When I wasn't a fan of the series, I couldn't bear five minutes of the dialogue before I turn it off. Thankfully, that didn't turn me off entirely from the series to see it on subs. So I suppose if you ride with it, so to speak, you can just laugh the whole dialogue thing off. I mean, think about it this way: you got laughs from a rather serious Stage of 'D. wink2.gif

Another side comment: Bahket ganon ang boses ni Iketani?? Nagka-itsura na nga ang character art niya, tapos pag dating sa boses... crying2.gif

Natapos na ang Coño Stage sa Animax! crying2.gif Even if I have the subs, I'm still sad to see it end. Like I said earlier, the dialogue's much better than the first couple of episodes. The translations on my 4th Stage subs were mind-reeling, so this would actually be the first time I actually understood the eps. Okay naman ang ending, nice touch with the interspersing flashback of that ride with Joshiya and Ryousuke's voice over. (haaaaay! pinch2.gif )

I know it's eebil of me to say this, being a Green Archer and all but y'all know the jokes about UP, Ateneo & DLSU, yeah? (i.e. What does DLSU stand for? "Di Lumusot sa UPCAT" - I heard that in DLSU and Godhelpme, I LMAO. But um... I actually DID pass the UPCAT and the Blue, Daddy dearest just wanted me to go to Taft, because it's closer.)

So Ryo-chan is the brainiac Takahashi and he gets into Ateneo and Kei-chan doesn't give any impression of geniusness (although he's not an idiot, per se) - probably one of those guys with a good brain but don't do the nerd thing and make studying his life.

And Takumi would be the UP boy. Hehehehehehe. laugh.gif

I passed all three schools as well. Went to Ateneo and I really think Ryosuke would be studying there if ever (biased... pinch2.gif ).

Heh, if you do it that way then Keisuke probably would be in La Salle Benilde. They always seem to have the impression of rich kids who have fast cars and the like.

Posted by: tiQlado Jun 6 2007, 03:35 PM
Ah well. I wouldn't know. AMACC kid lang po ako, plus I didn't really make full use of my degree. So I can't relate to whatever the hell you kiddies are talking about. laugh.gif

I don't think Takumi wil be very particular with which uni he went. And the Japanese culture gives me the impression that you don't really need a college degree to really get somewhere. Well, that's how I perceive it when I read Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyonagi (sp?). Anyways, didn't Taku-chan get a job first right after graduating? And he never mentioned anything about college.

Going waaaaaaaaaaay off-topic: The show that replaced 4th Stage, Dear Boys, incidentally, has a character actually named Takumi Fujiwara. And the music was produced by Avex, PLUS they used some Eurobeat tunes. Coincidence? Am I just ticked because it took the timeslot of D? Am I reading too much into it? Or should I be taking my meds now? tongue.gif

"Constipated" is an understatement.

Now, I know I shouldnt count my chickens before they're hatched but...

I might get to dub ID stage 1-4!!! laugh.gif

My mom is currently going to dub a few animes (in english, thankfully a few people found out how horrible most of the tagalized animes are) and the good news is that since I was a voice talent before in commercials and a few old animes(I used to be the voice of Gohan back when Dragonball Z was released channel 9. laugh.gif ), my mom said a few few higher-ups might consider me for a few voice tests.

No celebrating yet since nothing is confirmed right now, Its been a while since I was in that industry. The real good news in this post is that ID might be released in english dubbed (with GOOD dubbers now) soon. happy.gif

I bet other folks have memorable lines from what was the Coño Stage.

I like the tagalog dub and it's a bit laughable at some times, but it's just that GMA cut it to make it 17 minutes, especially when they cut the incident at the boys' locker room where Takumi punched Miki. There should be a Tagalog fandub of Initial D and simply uncut. I hope anybody could do one.

Togue is a Japanese term. It refers to any mountain pass in general (Akina, Akagi, Shomaru, etc).

Also, damn, are there any clips of tagalog ID dubs that I could find? I haven't been home in so long, so I haven't been able to see/hear them.

oh thank you for the info... smile.gif I was just curious about that term because there are games that used the term "togue" and I want to know the meaning hehe

It actually spelled Touge. Akina is actually Haruna Pass in Shibukawa, which is Takumi's hometown. The tagalog term of touge is silang, but I believe it's a deep tagalog noun. Ha, it is really funny to see Takumi deliver taho to Akina.

I think Takumi would be delivering "tokwa" although it does seem funny if he would be delivering taho... ( I just couldn't imagine that) whistling.gif

I watched the first episode of the tagalog dubbed Initial D and then I stopped watching it. Kinda disappointing.

Thank you for explaining the meaning of touge, i didn't really understand what that meant shifty2.gif

My friend... be thankful you were spared of the brain-grating coñoness that is the Animax version... >____<

well... i was kinda looking forward to hearing takumi say something coñotic... tongue.gif
that's only because I really cannot imagine that scene stuart2.gif

Whenever I imagine what if Takumi ask his friends if they want to buy some taho form him, I fell like I'm going to laugh but I love taho hehe...

Taho huh? I tried to think of other replacements for Taho and Tokwa but I'm stumped.
Yes... although I'm from the Philippines... I got to admit, IT SUCKED!

Especially the Voice of Takumi by Mateo Giudichelli (famous Young Gun Go Kart racer in the Philippines), did I spell it right? Takumi's real personality, as pertaining to his voice is spaced out... with the voice as I heard & watched it... IT DIDN'T MATCH!

His face shows complete seriousness but his voice shows HAPPINESS as in the-carnival-is-fun-and-exciting happiness...

They really screwed up the first 2 episodes...

although screwed, It's funny how they added lines to Tohru at episode 2 (guy with Miata)
while he copies Takumi's weight shift...

Imagine you're about to die and you say in a happy voice
"oh no! I'm falling!"

OR what about Kawai's voice before his race when he's fixing his seatbelt...
as he says "I am Shaking, pare ('dude' in tagalog)"
his face is COMPLETELY serious, so is his voice but his line didn't match at all ! shock.gif laugh2.gif

ummm, i think touge means mountain pass generally.... and.. guys, watch the tagalog episode of hoshino vs. KT... the part at the cone intertwine thing... lol the bystander's voice is superb,,,,

Hi,
Does anyone still have the audios of the tagalog dub of Initial D? I'm doing a release with all the audios and subs and I'd like to include Tagalog too.

Thanks!
