Fidget spinners are so 2017, bro. You should've asked if he could make a fidget cube out of it.

I was actually referring to the loading speed of the image but thank you for that clarification. Now I'm one step further of understanding your thinking processes. tongue.gif

ah, that makes more sense, the word suicune was a bit misleading but i do vaguely recall them referring to trains by suicune for some reason.

either way its not a pretty way to go and likely causes delays at the same time.

No, it's just a dumb play on words. Seppuku is jokingly referred to as sudoku, so I took it a step further.

(7 days later)

After getting one bluescreen after another I decided to test the RAM. Result: 576 addressing errors. Not sure if it's related but it seems to be a good clue, I guess...

That's absolutely related. If you have multiple RAM sticks, take all out but one and test each individually until you find the one that's damaged. Leave the damaged one out of the rig and you should be in much better shape.

If you only have one, well, time for new RAM.

Well, tested 3 out of 4 pieces and they all got several errors. I won't test the other one because I'm sure the same errors will occur again. Even if not, I wouldn't use it because 2 GB total RAM would be pointless. Guess my mainboard isn't compatible with them because they caused no problems on a previous system.

No, it means you may have an issue with your CPU, or motherboard. I can't remember off the top of my head where the memory controller for your chipset is (whether it's on the CPU or the motherboard), but if you're sure the RAM is good (test them on another machine?) then that means the memory controller must be bad.

So, I bought a new RAM stick just to make sure if it's a memory controller issue and guess what? Absolutely no errors. The cpu use was greater this time as well (look at temperature). Seems like it was some compatibility problem after all.

I like how Alastair's post was the opposite of self-fulfilling (self-dooming?), in that it spurred a sudden burst of activity and posting. Was this his goal all along? We may never know...

There was plenty of activity on the forum before he posted, and the activity his post spawned was no different from any other activity that had already been going on. It was not a self-defeating prophecy--it was just business as usual.
