Yeah. If we were to choose which one to tagalog-dub Initial D, I'd also rather pick Hero TV. they just do it ALOT better. Although, IMO, ID is really one of those animes that you'd rather watch in original J-dub w/ subtitles. If i wanted to watch a pinoy dubbed anime, Yakitate Japan will always be my choice LOL.

Lol I can imagine it now, I wonder if my little cousins watched it.... But yeah, I'm used to the Japanese version with subs because the voices suited the characters perfectly. The TP one was ok with the voices however. Yes I'm a Filipino |

The First Stage was horrible on Animax (they sound like gangsters... At least Nakazato does... ), but the Second Stage was pretty decent. I'm not too big on Tagalog-dubbed anime though, so I don't really support Hero too much. |

O.o initial d seems to be one of those series that won't sound great if translated into tagalog, considering some of the technical stuff usually used in some parts... |

Naku naman, masyadong technical na yan! Basta, if ever bundok were to be used in the dubbing, instant sucking. Tsk, tsk, tsk, it would sound too, well... wierd. It's like it's not Initial D anymore...

Muntikan na ko maubusan ng boses sa katatawa. Pero parang nagugustuhan ko yung boses ni Ryosuke. Feeling ko bagay sa kanya. Pangit lang kasi yung script nya kaya nakakabadtrip minsan. |

Can't remember, but I don't think they actually translated it that way... If they did something along the lines of buysit... And I totally agree with Mark4000, Ryousuke's voicer totally suited him. Takumi sounded like the 16 year old Guidicelli was then (I think...) Hero! Never take Initial D! Grr... I wish Animax would just redub it...

Definitely. But the 1st Stage... The voices there don't sound like they were made by Animax... I've never heard them before, and I've watched a lot of Animax. Haha... I wish they would hold a dubber contest as well, the dubber will dub the winner's (of the writing contest Animax is holding) anime. We could all dub Initial D!

Hm... Maybe... But I think they were too lazy to dub it themselves and got some other company, or whatever, to dub it for the. Or maybe they used an already existing dub. Dunno...

What petrifies me in the Tagalized version of Initial D Fourth Stage is that the mood doesn't blend well and they were simply not themselves! They looked like a rich guy showing off his fat wallet to the public (Filipino slang of conyo). |

Yeah. I agree. My friends actually didn't mind tagalizing ID but the air of conyoness was just so suffocating everyone couldn't take it lol. and yeah, the voice actors were like sleepy airheads with a major hangover most of the time.

IDW Expert Member Group: Members Posts: 113 Member No.: 24,174 Joined: Apr 25th 2007 Location: Philippines | ...To a point, yes. And the voicer of Takumi kills me. He sounds like a prep-school boy. As in, an exclusive-school kid, not a preschooler. *sigh* However, Filipino dubbers are well appreciated. Just that they made the wrong choice with some of the voice actors for this one. And the voicers probably didn't understand the anime too well. |
